I get that Shawn is the main character but I loved these moments where Gus proved he wasn't just comic relief or a sidekick. He's knowledgeable about a lot of things and just as perceptive as Shawn
Which is why he makes a good Watson.
Shawn may the street smart face of the organization but Gus is the real brains of the operation.
shawn is superhuman with his memory and training, but gus is really the smart one
