Xie Lian, the crown prince of Xian Le Kingdom, successfully ascends to Heaven during his third trial despite of successive demotions. However, he accidentally breaks the Gold Palace of heavenly officials. With no human worshiping him, Xie Lian has to descend to the secular world to exorcise ghosts, which may help him sustain his divinity. During his adventure, Xie Lian encounters two heavenly officials and a mysterious young man in red. I love what this scene represents between them. While I'm sure they both knew that Xie Lian had his suspicions, him actually saying his name aloud (while inviting him for a home cooked meal!) shows how much confidence and trust he has in San Lang.

More like 'lang' is the term for male partner and 'san' means '3',
I remember in MDZS jiang cheng's father call his wife ' San nyang' as his wife is the 3rd daughter in her family, while San lang claims he is the 3rd son, he means it's the 3rd appearance he show to Xie lian.

Ha ha ....was Xie Lian going to cook food in the middle of a desert with literally nothing? In the novel, this scene happened after they went back to Puqi Shrine (if I remember correctly). This scene is one of my favorite scenes. It's not exactly how it is written in the book, but the donghua adaptation still preserved the sweetness and surprising element (though I felt a little rushed at the end). It's a beautiful scene! Will be waiting for season 2, of course!
That would’ve been hilarious but no, he says “do you want to go back...what do you want to eat”, which means Xie Lian was asking what to cook once they went “back” (to the shrine?), not in the desert haha.
There will be a special episode in 16 January, telling the story about when Xielian and Hua Cheng come back to Puqi😄so maybe the cooking will be in this special episode.

he calls him by his title directly after this, at the beginning of chapter 30:
Back still facing San Lang, Xie Lian said, “Crimson Rain Sought Flower?” “Your Royal Highness the Crown Prince,” San Lang replied. Xie Lian finally turned around with a grin. “That’s the first time I’ve heard you address me like that.”
