    i am 15 years old, and have just had my first stable year in school. I had very a major depressive disorder, and a panic disorder as well. it got to the point that i was bedridden, and my parents did not care. they did not understand the severity of it, which was extremely hard to manage. the reason i’m saying this is because i have finally managed to get back into school, and feel like i have finally gained control of myself, and have gained control of my actual reality. i now realize i had to go through some of the hardest times of my entire life, to reach the point of pure bliss it is, to be spiritually awakened. i still am more towards the beginning of the process of becoming my true self, but i am learning to forgive myself for my mistakes in practice, since i have been trained to act a different way my whole life. you have been an extreme help in this process. watching your videos are something i adore, and it’s always enlightening when i see your content. they help to guide me into my true reality, which i am extremely grateful for. i do not have any friends supporting me in this spiritual process, and i used to get sad that they wouldn’t, or that they didn’t understand what i was saying, but now i know they just are unaware of this simulation that we are in, and it is not their faults. i hope this somewhat made sense, but my main point was just that i’m extremely grateful. thank you, im sending you and your family very loving energy.

      i used to feel this way and be so depressed and anxious because i did not know any true wisdom, so i really did wallow in my suffering. i did not know the fundamental reality. i am going to send this to my family and friends, to see if they understand what i attempt to explain, but cannot put it into words. thanks again.

    I am an empath, and I feel that animals DO have similar fears and concerns as humans. I live with animals every day and I see, I experience their "feelings", and they DO fear death, not just the suffering, but the outcome. Why do we feel the need to separate ourselves from animals to be superior? If we would pay better attention to ALL animals we would see and realize their essence is that of survival, love, and living freely.

    • @mamaknows1062
      @mamaknows1062 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      chinookvalley, yes animals feel all the emotions that humans do and have intelligence which varies from one to another, and species to species. Love, adoration, anger, happiness, confusion, anxiety, pride, etc. Anyone who observes animals of any species long enough finds this out. No animal wants to be mistreated, or die. It's more than just preprogrammed intelligence we call instinct.

    • @jf9979
      @jf9979 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Some sadly do separate the human race from the rest of the universe. On the flip side, many dont. I remember even Neil Degrasse Tyson once tweeted and Im paraphrasing, "the universe is indifferent to your pain and anguish, have a nice day". Even a smart physicist can get it wrong, because what he forgot to realise was that humans are also the universe... We are not separate from it. We are not separate from the plants and animals or anything else that we experience.

    1. We don't know what fundamental reality is. We never experience the source of thought, feeling, etc. 2. Grasping and clinging at experience which is un-graspable. 3. The fear of impermanence, a false construct - the "selfie". We are wanting to hold to that identity, which is always changing. (4 was missed) and 5. The fear of death.

    You are a spiritual being having a physical experience .

    That's the essence of Sufism.

    I am not a Chopra fan. Why did Chopra refer to Stuart Wilde as a dangerous man? Maybe because Stuart spoke of spiritual wisdom and concepts in language that the ordinary man could understand and learn from. When Chopra speaks - it is like he is constantly saying 'look how smart I am - for you can not grasp - or maintain - any concept I express.'

      Also some people calling Deepak a “fake charlatan” in the comments even though he’s known a spiritual teacher in the community who has actually helped people. Or that Russell has “gone off the deep end” because he invited him on his channel. Especially when we actually NEED more people with this kind of insight than the crap people follow that’s all based in shallow ego-based things. 😒 If more people thought like this and had a higher level of empathy and understanding we’d be a lot happier instead of the majority of the population chasing temporary material things that ultimately don’t matter in the end.

    My meditation and yoga training taught this exact thing, nearly 30 years ago. And 99% of the time it is true that we project onto others those things we do not accept in ourselves. That is basic Psych 101. But there is an experience that will throw any normal-minded person into a state of confusion that often ends them. Any empathetic person, and especially those of us who've had drug problems, must face our issues and psyches to rise above what controls us. However, there is something so fantastically repulsive, and so shockingly repellent that it has no place in the puzzle of an average person's mind. Some people are so far away from normal human behavior, and seem to create a reality so far from the normal human experience, that we could not have "projected" that onto another person even if we tried. The reason is, there are a tiny fraction of humans capable of behaving in ways that are far beyond human, and when you see it first-hand, especially when you witness it from someone you love, it is devastating beyond comprehension. It will make you wish it was a projection. It will make you doubt everything you know to be true. And the worst part is that all the enlightened and empathetic people around will go back to that old philosophy that all our negative responses are rooted in our psyche. Not true. Not even close.
    There needs to be a new vision, and it needs to include what I call evil. We see it all the time. We watch serial killers, politicians, child-molesters, and professionals do things that not only fuck others out of things, but themselves as well. Evil has no sense. There is no way to rationalize sabotaging your own children, sexually assaulting your own wife, or betraying your own family. That is how I define evil. Animals don't do that, because it is unnatural to cut off your nose to spite your face. But they do it. And it has absolutely nothing to do with the victim. There are human beings so repulsive and so far outside the way an acceptable human being behaves that there is no other description that evil.
    This is not the pain from a break-up, or the pain of being cheated on. This is the pain of knowing that another human person can pretend so well, and hold up a mask for so long that everybody will believe them over you, even when you are the one being controlled and abused. I think the pop-psych bullshit is exactly that, bullshit. It's easy to watch documentaries on serial killers and child molesters, it is an entirely different ballgame when the predator lives in your house.

I’m way tired of the anxiety, depression, mistreatment of the poor, those with mental illnesses, and I’m sick of all of the relentless bullshit in the world. Yeah all of this spiritual stuff is all fine and dandy for a VERY select few. For 99% of the rest of us it’s simply not attainable. I’ve beed a practitioner of zen since 2003. Zen doesn’t pay the rent, pay for medicines, or cure mental illnesses. It’s a helpful tool in dealing with life’s bullshit, but death is MUCH preferred. Initially a person pretends that he is awake. Because he thinks that ,he knows more, he talks more , he struggles more he asks more, he does more. Then one day he sits deeply engrossed into him , Then suddenly he found that he is actually sleeping but not awake. Once someone in reality found that he is sleeping , then sound of wind, then sound of word, then small action , then small gesture make him awake. This sleep is very near to awakening.

    How do you know that animals don't question exsistance? That they don't have existential crisis? They have emotions, very similar to ours (fear, love, sadness, even depression). I find it presumptuous that people measure animal intelligence, by how we measure ours...they are far more intuitive for example. How can we say that they don't have these questions when we don't speak their language (but they are capable of understanding us...). Animals deserve far more respect then what we give them, and we should be protecting them.

No going back from that existential angst comprising suffering, impermanence and non self. Sure there are compensations such as being content with what you have, but I never expected an experience that leads eventually to enlightenment to be unpleasant in any way. 'And the light of the sun shall not shine upon thee, and the moon shall not lend thee of her lustre, and the stars shall be hidden, because thou art passed beyond these things, beyond the need of these things, beyond the desire of these things.' Please have a discussion on perfectly sane functional people who disassociate from feeling human. For instance a child tells her parents her name wasn't her real name & that she existed before that her form wasn't her true self, then grows up to experience every human emotion knowing she's human but somewhat feeling like humanity isn't her true essence/race. Could it be possible that some cases of dissociative disorder could be tied into spiritual awareness? It's just a topic I contemplate from time to time.

    I get it too. Everything is transient. This chair I'm sitting on right now is made of metal and wood. It was once ore in the ground and a tree/trees. And before being a tree, it was a seed. And that was subjected to solar energy, water, and gaseous elements. And the ore... well... it was perhaps at one time liquid deep in the earth that got pushed up to the surface layers and solidified. Someones cut the tree... someones mined the ore... and someones produced those raw materials into the chair. And someones sold that chair to someones.. and eventually it got to me. But those trees and ore are no more... they are now existing in the form of this chair I sit upon. And someday, this chair will be somewhere else... perhaps still functioning as a chair... or else it's elements will breakdown and be taken back by the earth. It's tough to understand, but there is no past and there is no future... those don't exist. The present moment is the only thing that really exists. What I am right at this moment is the only thing that truly exists. Who I was five minutes ago doesn't exist, I changed. Before I was born, I didn't exist. The genetic material for my potential existence was present in the reproductive organs of my parents. And likewise, someday I will no longer exist, I will die and my body will be taken back to the earth. The elements of my body will go on as the raw materials for the existence of somethings else. My water, carbon, etc... These facts should give me comfort, but they don't. My consciousness doesn't accept this. My consciousness wants to go on existing forever.
