    You are my hero, lol. I honestly love your videos, and your realistic approach is inspiring me to consider making my own channel. I am a classically trained chef, although I use it only for my family, as I do not work in the industry. Also, I live in Florida as well, so I can associate with much of what you talk about (and trying to talk over the sandhills). Thank you for what you do!

    I love using different fats especially on the ninja since it’s so easy to clean up. I’ve used the beef tallow and my personal favorite duck fat. They also make a duck fat spray now which is super nice and less mess. You give me hope on a chuck cut

    I bought this ninja wood pro connect to replace my Pitboss Pellet vertical smoker. I am disappointed with the results of smoking a chuck roast. When I smoked on my Pitboss my neighbors thought the piece I shared was from a standing rib roast cooking to 195*. Not with the Ninja. I cooked to same 195*, it was marginally good tasting but was tough. I am going to give it another try and if same results I will return to ninja.

      You need to cook at lower temps on the Ninja vs larger cookers in my experience due to the much smaller cook chamber.

    Glad to see the rack was a success. Excellent stuff. 🍖

    Hi James, I think there is a mistake in the conversion of F to C when you are setting up the cook on the app. 129F is 48.8C, not 93C. 200F is 93C, which will turn the beef into shoe leather.

      You are 100% correct, I used the temp of the cooker instead of the steak accidentally.

    Warming rack addition a plus! A wired thermometer does well. But, it gets unmanageable for searing. I wonder if wireless thermometer (like your Inkbird) would work in this grill. As long as the metal shell doesn't act like a faraday cage, you should be able to use a wireless thermometer (just like in an air fryer [which is what this oven is...massive air fryer]).

      I have used both my INKBIRD and my meat stick in it without issues.

    Good video!
    I think you should have tenderized it right after seasoning to get the salt into the meat better

      Next time! I also should have done the overnight salt for dry brining.

    Have you ever figured out how to create a smoke ring when you smoke brisket or ribs on the Ninja? I bought a Ninja a couple weeks ago and totally love it, but my only minor complaint is there is no smoke ring on anything.

    • @stewarthoi

      @@DadGotThis I had some success creating a smoke ring smoking meat at a very low temp (under 140F) for >3 hours before I raised the temp to cook it. I used the original Ninja pellets that came with the smoker. I did some research and found that smoke ring forms at a low temp (under 140) when nitrogen dioxide from burning wood reacts with myoglobin on wet meat surface. My guess is the Ninja pellets don't create a lot of nitrogen dioxide so the process was not very efficient. If we could find some sort of pellet that produce higher concentration of nitrogen dioxide, smoke the meat for a couple hours while keeping the surface moist, then proceed to actually smoke the meat at a higher temp, then we could very possible see smoke ring. What are your thoughts?

    • @DadGotThis
      @DadGotThis  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @stewarthoi I was actually planning on trying this. I just saw some people doing the low smoke on pellet grills with success.

    Why won’t smoke ignite on certain settings like grill? That sucks!

    • @classicmomentos
      @classicmomentos หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’ll ignite, he’s saying the grill will beep at you if you enable woodfire but then leave the lid open when grilling. No problems with woodfire when you grill with the lid closed and only open to flip.

      @dmxdmx9743 what setting were you on? There are some that do not allow Woodfire. It will 100% let you use Woodfire on grill as you can see in my 5 guys video. th-cam.com/video/VeNBpS8FvAA/w-d-xo.html

      @@DadGotThis I know. That’s what is strange. On grill high, the fire button does nothing. On the app it’s gray. I will try again tonight.
