    I dreamt a dream... and it came true with this recording 🧡 Thank you Stephen for believing in my music and treating it so well - Thanks to each of these wonderful voices and thanks to the sound engineer and producer for sampling the choir so well 🙏

      I love the harmonies in this piece. They're not what you'd expect, but they work so well 😀

    Trinity has a wonderful rich and very unique sound. Stephen Layton leaving will leave a big hole in the quality of music from Cambridge.

    It’s wonderful to watch these amazing recording session videos, not only of the title ‘Come to Me,’ but also of other great works by Antognini! Also huge thanks to the audio engineer, David Hinitt, for the wonderful recording!

      Does anyone have access to the text of this poem? I pick up most of the words from the choir, but unfortunately not all. The music is sublime, but would mean even more to me if I knew all of the text.

      It's a poem by William Blake :
      I dreamt a dream! What can it mean?
      And that I was a maiden Queen
      Guarded by an Angel mild:
      Witless woe was ne’er beguiled!
      And I wept both night and day,
      And he wiped my tears away;
      And I wept both day and night,
      And hid from him my heart’s delight.
      So he took his wings, and fled;
      Then the morn blushed rosy red.
      I dried my tears, and armed my fears
      With ten thousand shields and spears.
      Soon my Angel came again;
      I was armed, he came in vain;
      For the time of youth was fled,
      And grey hairs were on my head.@@clivesay49

    A lovely, sophisticated piece nonetheless carrying primal beauty. Where do these polished gems keep coming from? I am understating the affect but I have only words.

    Dear Ivo, this is just so incredibly beautiful, it actually hurts! Such typically "plastic" lines, done superbly here. The singers always love singing your work. You are nothing short of GENIUS.

    I have listened to several of uptakings with The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge. They are all wonderful. Just one question: Why can we never hear the Pianist? 🙂🙃

      Good question! On this recording, all the works are a cappella (unaccompanied) - but Jonathan our Organ Scholar is there at the piano to assist if required between takes. You can hear our Organ Scholars play every week during term on our Evensong livestreams: th-cam.com/play/PLba6K3De4poGTjjjp94wz1y4-NCJ2X_XZ.html
