    You could do with a separate mic you could put on your shirt and sync up in post production. Also a windsock for the camera mic. I love your content though 👍🏻

      Hey there! Nice idea. Definitely going to sort something along these lines for the new year. Any suggestions on mics to look into?

    • @longy88
      @longy88 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve got a rode mic for my DSLR and the improvement on sound is tenfold. Don’t know about one for the shirt as I’m no expert. Got your dead sea scrolls video from history time on atm, i love every vid you do on that channel keep them coming and Merry Christmas mate 🙂

      @@PeteKellyHistory I use a Røde SmartLav+, stick a cheap wind baffle on and run it into an old smartphone. Clips onto your shirt, cuts out background noise, and resists the wind really well, you just need to sync the audio with the video in post, but the sound is great. I switched over to using one because the mic on my Gopro was *awful*, and the shotgun mic I was using on my other camera was picking up the wind way too easily!

    The travel videos will need much more information about what we're seeing, to hold my attention. Asides about the food are good. Would help to bone up on visual composition as well.

    Beautiful Photography, but I believe the walls were built by the French king to keep out the Mamluks, not the Mongols.

    How about Ephesus? Constantinople. Deva Victrix. Eboracum. Xanten.

  • @Transportia
    @Transportia 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hmm...I get the raw footage aesthetic. But I'm not loving the wind noise--that's been a thing for too long in too many videos wanting to grunge up to be cool. It's just annoying. DO KEEP MAKING VIDS! and keep experimenting!

    • @PeteKellyHistory
      @PeteKellyHistory  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s nothing to do with ‘grunging up’. It’s simply filmed on our phones without a mic. I shall absolutely keep experimenting.

      These videos are a 'behind the scenes' to the main History Time videos. So the plan is, wherever I go to film History Time I will try and make videos like this whilst there.

    Yes I'd like to see more. Just keep it honest tourism & sight seeing, though. When you were making fun of Jesus, Aliens, etc. with another male voice in the background, though, I almost flipped away.
