    I am sorry, but FDNY is suppose to be the best fire department in the United States, but it took OVER 4 minutes after arriving on scene to get water flowing. Did I miss something or am I in an alternate world?

      in that situation handlines do nothing, it takes time to set up tower ladders.

    • @medic1rn12
      @medic1rn12 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@deuce1809 I understand this fire was out of control…but a 2.5 inch line would start the process…but those fire fighters stood there holding the line waiting for water to flow, which took over 4 minutes before anyone charged the attack lines.

    • @deuce1809
      @deuce1809 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@medic1rn12 Those lines are not the priority at a fire of that magnitude, it's the tower ladder. The lines were stretched dry in place so once the TL was ready they would be charged. The need to stretch a 3 ½” supply line to a Tower Ladder early in an operation when fire
      conditions indicate the potential need for an exterior attack. That was an 100% exterior operation.

      @@deuce1809 I think we are going to have to agree to disagree. Water flowing is the answer for this fire. As soon as many others have mentioned in other posts, where was the water?

      @MrGBC-ks3si ปีที่แล้ว

      re: medic 1m12- Nice to see that you're such an expert. In situations such as this, the priority is to do as much as you can to protect surrounding properties. There are times when that supersedes putting water on a fire building immediately that is obviously a total loss. Been there, done that. @@medic1rn12

      They are union the more firefighters they can can call the more they get paid. I watched a vidio on the LAFD arriving on scene of a pallet yard fire 90 seconds they had 2 count em 2 2and a half lines charged and water on the fire there was no standing around like these people do. This is why the fdny has a 3rd and 4th and higher alarms they stand around and watch the building burn

      The “Deck Gun” is the most under utilized water appliance in the fire service. Im not sure why departments don’t deploy it more often. It delivers a tremendous amount of water in a short time and knocks a big fire pretty quick.

  • @joeloveland6283
    @joeloveland6283 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Sorry, i have to agree with the others..where is the water? With all the adjusting of the dry line you got to wonder if it they laid out 400 feet of line with the engine across the street.
    "Setting up the tower takes time" an engine can run multiple lines at once, and yoi can do a good knock down or exposure protection while waiting for the tower to get set up.
    I did see a little water sprayed into the side at about 3 minutes, but then it stopped.
    FDNY claims to be "the best" but i haven't see that in any videos.
    LAFD, LA County Fire, CALFIRE, and most impressive Stockton seem to be way more aggressive and organized than FDNY. Maybe cause they don't rest on reputation and have to deal with massive wildfires and structures fires, so they learned how to be quick and work better together.

Waiting for this or that doesn’t excuse the uncharged lines. If anything get lines charged to spray adjoining buildings like that one on the left. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen.
