The monsoon is upon us,
let’s swing and rejoice under the shade
of the mango tree as it fans us.
In all four directions,
dark clouds loom,
droplets of rain shine,
and bolts of lightning crackle.

I have a question for the singer: Is this song based on Raga Behag or Khamaj? If Khamaj why does it sound so nice with Behag. I heard a popular Tagore song based of Behag was fused with exactly this song (that is why I am here - to find this song) and they sounded so great together. Some insights will be appreciated greatly!
Some songs are mixed type with no specification to a particular raag.I think that is so also.
@@soumyascreation2003 you are right. My understanding is almost all raaga based songs are not based on the pure raaga. They violate one or more rules. The Bandishes on the other hand are designed to represent a single Raaga. So a raga based song can be mostly based on a single Raga or a mix of Raagas. It is just a crazy world of Ragas. Now let's think about this case. There were originally fewer Ragas. Then came Raginis. More and more ragas are being born with time going into the thousands. And what are these new Ragas. They are fusion of the earlier Ragas. Right? I am just thinking out loud. So is it not the case that if you compose a Raga based song today with minor tweaks, borrowing a foreign note or two you can simply give it a new Raga name?

But I think the diversity of raagas is enough.
