    Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts about what seems to be a true gem in Cuba. For a few days I was trying to find a 7 days escape from the cold Quebec and your video is real inspiring, seems like I'm going to take your advice and book thissometimes towards the end of February 2024. We're both in our 50-60's and will appreciate the tranquility of that spot, mainly for beach and service. Even if it's a little out of our budget for Cuba'ish experience, I think your exposé convinced me! Funny thing: at min. 20:06 you mentioned that you're in Santa Clara...confusing :) It's indeed Santa Maria, isn't it? Cheers from Quebec!

    We stayed at the Now Sapphire in Mexican Riviera. There was a pool attendant who would keep track of chairs with towels etc and no one on them. After 1 hour, if no one was in the chair/chairs, he would remove all items including books, water bottles, towels etc and put them in his booth. You could go claim them when you finally decide to return. A lot of vacationers feel entitled and often would reserve themselves chairs at the pool and beach at same time so they could go back and forth and be guaranteed a lounger.

    Maybe I missed it, but did you go in May of 2023? I am just gushing the waves 🌊 in Cayo Santa Maria vs Varadero. We are regulars at Royalton Hicacos Varadero for years now. We were considering trying Cato Santa Maria.

    Enjoyed your video. We have just booked to go in May. You mentioned you wish you had brought more items to leave. What items are most needed/desired?

    Great video. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem with me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S.

    Wonderful video! Just wondering, if there is no buffet is there a place to get a bite between meals like a snack bar? Also, you mentioned it being like a day trip to get to the beach. Is it a long walk? I’m have arthritis and use a cane. I can walk short distances no problem. I found your video searching for “boutique” sized resorts hoping to find a manageable sized hotel. There also seem to be a lot of stairs around the pool areas etc. If you wanted a bottle of wine for your room was it available? I don’t drink beer (or many mixed drinks) but like a glass or two of white wine when relaxing on the porch. ❤

      Thank you for your questions. You can get food 24hours a day at the "cafe". It is not buffet style, you order off a menu. The beach is right beside the resort, depending on the building you are placed in it could be a 2 minute walk or up to 5-7 minutes. Wine is available in your room as well as throughout the resort.

      @@WadingIntoRetirement Thank you so much for responding, I appreciate it. Las Vegas has always been our go to holiday spot for decades because although it has a lot of walking I can rent a mobility scooter and bring my own wheelchair. It's getting priced out of our reach now though, sadly. I've always wondered about Cuba because so many Canadians seem to love it but the mega resorts can be intimidating if you have mobility issues.

    The world economy was hit hard everywhere. Recession is just the beginning for countries across the western world. Naturally this trickles down and affects third works countries even more since they were already in dire circumstances. It’s devastating. It becomes a survival game, and survival brings the most animalistic things in people and there is a loss of human virtues.

    Is there no buffets at all at this resort?

    • @WadingIntoRetirement
      @WadingIntoRetirement  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. This resort is buffet free. It was a concern for me as well, but it worked out. You have access to Secrets next door that has a few buffets.
