This is what we need more of! The incredible technicians who actually make films what they are finally getting their moment in the spotlight! 💯 You can just feel their passion and excitement talking about their craft and process. Please keep shining a light on these unsung heroes because they deserve ALL the recognition. The public needs to know the magic behind why their favorite films look and feel so amazing. Massive kudos to THR India for doing this! 👏✨
Loved this round table. Please make it an annual event. It's great that you celebrate technicians whose blood, sweat and tears create the films we love. it's time we applaud them.
Props to Sneha Menon Desai for interviewing such a vast variety of people. Technicians are not expected to be skilled in talking to press but she was great at keeping conversation going and asking interesting questions.
I do not comment that often, but this video gets all my heart! Would love to watch more of such content! Keep going The Hollywood Reporter, you're doing a great job❤
I am so glad they did this round table. I watched the whole episode and i feel so grateful the work they do. I had some idea what goes behind films but the level of insights they gave and the level of knowledge this group of people have is just mind blowing like who knew you need mosquito cream and biscuits for shoot like that is so common sense yet genius. So glad they did this. Keep making this kind of episode THR ❤
I did know about Anaita Shroff, Resul and Bosco. Catch their names in the title cards. Definitely knew that they would done the job well. To learn about others and appreciate the effort that they put in for their art/work is a good feeling. Thank you.
Whether one is a cinephile or not, this roundtable was everything we needed just to get a tiny slice of the wheels that move the craft and dynamics of moviemaking. Let's hear more about the departments that make a movie. This roundtable felt like an earworm in the cackle and cacophony of trite, lacklustre actor interviews that are being trotted out by the hour on social media. More of this, and many many more of this!
This is a real empowerment moment for the industry! We talk a lot about the back-office, but rarely give them any platform! This is a great step providing these technicians a platform to tell their side of the stories!
This is amazing!! So happy to see Artist who create magic in the real behind the scene be interviewed. Loved the conversation. We need these and this is just a start!
Great roundtable! We are getting to see the Technicians who make the movies we love for the first time together and listen to their perspectives. Kudos to team THR!
Talk about capturing the joy and fun of movie-making. If this doesn’t inspire more people to want to get behind the scenes and contribute to Indian cinema/tv, I don’t know what will!
Thank you so so much for doing this. As a budding sound designer it's great to see some appreciation for the technicians in the industry too be given a chance to speak. I think audiences would come to love and appreciate cinema even more when they get to know how much work is put in by hundreds of people to make one iconic scene from the costumes, set design, sound, color grading, editing to everything else. Filmmaking needs to be looked at as a much bigger team effort than the work of a producer and director with some actors on the screen.
Sneha. . What a wonderful host you are!!!! ❤❤ the questions, the ability to keep the conversations going and let each speaker put the point across and reacting to it. It's been done so wonderfully!!! Great going!! 👏👏👏👏
Please do roundtables for separate departments like a casting directors discussion, DOP, Lighting, Sound (recorder, mixer, designer, mixer, music director, etc), Art director, Production designer, Set designer, Costume designer, Make Up artists, SFX, Stunt coordinator, Editor, VFX, Writers (screenplay, story, dialogue, script, etc) and Choreographers.
Please have round table with Bengali technician like Arghakamal Mitra ( editor) Avik Mukherjee / Sudipta Halder/ Madhura( cinematography) indraneel ghosh art director.. Anik Dutta , Gautam ghosh to have a meaningful unbiased conversation of cinema at large
This is by far most interesting round table compared to any other or any another platform because you could listen the tales amd experience were authentic and not pr and media trained.
This roundtable is definitely a step in the right direction so kudos to the THR India team but clearly a lot of work needs to be done. The question is where does the action come from? How will things for the technicians change?
This is one of the best roundtables ever happened in our country. Kudos to Hollywood Reporter India for organizing it. It would be fantastic if you could make this an annual event.🎬🎥
Thank you. A great learning exchange. Thank you for bringing other artists to the table apart from the the main leads. Now please bring the musicians roundtable too. It’s also the musicians and the songs who have determine if a film will be superhit or not and unfortunately they have not been given enough due.
Sneha, it's such a delight to see you again! As always, you've curated this interview masterfully and presented it to us like a beautifully wrapped Christmas gift. The ending was the perfect finishing touch, like a lovely bow on top 🎁Absolutely loved it!
Really admire THR for organizing this roundtable, these people are unsung heroes. There should be constant effort in this direction & not a once in blue moon case.
Someone needs to start a petition for better stake/pay for the technicians. They’re used like employees and none of them are recognized for all hard work they put in. Ridiculous!
Hi! would love something on the distribution/sales/exhibition landscape of the entertainment industry with studio executives or independent production houses!! 🙏
Great job team THR India! Now could you pls do one with the MOST important aspect of any movie or series i.e the WRITING. Please get the amazing writers especially of Panchayat, Heeramandi, All we imagine is Light. Thank you!
Y does this anchor not do intvws in actors roundtable or director roundtable. And y doesnt anupama conduct these intvws with technicians roundtable do they not deserve same respect as actors or directors?
This word technicians is so wrong, if they actually were technical then this word should never be used. Technical Team/Experts is better.... technician is more used in manufacturing industry for a certain level of skilled labour(**
Bollywood m bahut zyda elitism h ye log glamour and look pe zyda focus krte h 5kilo ka makeup karke to koi bhi handsome hi lagega 😂upar se inka hindi/urdu ka command bahut weak h 😂ye log Hollywood se inspired hote h but they can't make decent visual spectacle and high concept movies
Hypocrites! Anupama Chopra wants technicians t take the front seat but herself did not take this interview and gave it to her junior! And please dont give me the she was busy or couldnt not fit in her schedule! She somehow always manages to get the time for big stars and never for the technicians that she cares so deeply about
Hey mr pookutty you should say that's what I like about Malayalam movies(and not South Indian).... Tamil Telugu Kannada industry ain't gonna make a movie like that
This is what we need more of! Absolutely
@@kushbharakhada4967 most Bollywood wale sirf English m kyu baat karte h aisa mene regional industry m nhi dekha h
@@kushbharakhada4967 bollywood movies kachra hoti h
Would be great to have one for script writers as well
Loved this round table. Please make it an annual event. It's great that you celebrate technicians whose blood, sweat and tears create the films we love. it's time we applaud them.
They are all artists. Not just technicians.
They should do a cinematographer round table , editors roundtable , writers roundtable , sound design roundtable
That’s good idea
It's the best decision took by THR
Props to Sneha Menon Desai for interviewing such a vast variety of people. Technicians are not expected to be skilled in talking to press but she was great at keeping conversation going and asking interesting questions.
Finaaalllyyyyy! We need more and more technical artists, across departments and seniority levels coming in dialogue! ❤
Huge shoutout to every one of those technicans for bringing so much energy to this conversation! You guys should do a solo interview with them.
This is much more entertaining than popular celebrities roundtable. Thanks for introducing us to all these wonderful technicians
Bollywood was always mediocre industry
I do not comment that often, but this video gets all my heart! Would love to watch more of such content! Keep going The Hollywood Reporter, you're doing a great job❤
Anupama and team living upto expectation... Removering barriers one step at a time
I am so glad they did this round table. I watched the whole episode and i feel so grateful the work they do. What an important and insightful round table! Much much needed
❤🙌🏼
Paywages of technicians should be increased instead of movie stars. Even super stars like akshay kumar's films are getting flopped anyway.
True

Choreographers and thier work need to be credited in song discription box.
Very nice conversation but Sneha could have asked direct questions instead of all open questions - to avoid everyone talking over each other.
This may not draw million viewers now but more of this please. More visibility will eventually bring them much deserved attention
Great roundtable! We are getting to see the Technicians who make the movies we love for the first time together and listen to their perspectives. Kudos to team THR!

Amazing round-table ❤thr India keep growing
so happy ppl who really deserve appreciation are getting it, one cannot imagine the mass of ppl behind a movie
Thanks THRI for bringing this kind of roundtable!
I wish there was enough budget to have separate editions of THR for each department of filmmaking.
Please do more of these. They are essential part of our cinema and deserves more recognition.
Pl mention the name of the people in the panel.

Really admire THR for organizing this roundtable, these people are unsung heroes.
There should be constant effort in this direction & not a once in blue moon case.

This is soo good, so amazing THR
Someone needs to start a petition for better stake/pay for the technicians. They’re used like employees and none of them are recognized for all hard work they put in. Ridiculous!
Superb discussion. Kuddos to sneha and the THR team
The audio levels too low! Please fix it, make it louder.

What a sign off indeed
First off all, stop calling them 'TECHNICIANS'. They are also 'ARTISTS'.

Anaija was in ddlj as one of Kajol’s friend 😊😊😊

Rasool pookutty legend ❤️
Appreciated. Albeit, 'Technicians'?
The Hollywood reporter - india should change its name to Hollywood reporter bandra
Finally a break from entitled actors wailing about equal pay when their box office numbers is a far cry from anything but that.
Good one ❤
RT with Malayali cinematographers next please
Guys can you bring Prithviraj Sukumaran here.. I want him Rana and farhan aktar in a table. Those guys knows about cinema itself
