- The plaintiff says the defendant is a money-hungry landlord. He’s suing her for money he claims she owes him for a security deposit and punitive damages. The defendant says the plaintiff refused a rent increase, so she had to evict him. She alleges he ruined her wood floors, and she’s countersuing for unpaid rent and damages.

I normally do not begrudge people who require public assistance, because anyone might need help some day depending on their circumstances. But I suspect this fellow is perfectly capable of some type of work. He could find it if he weren't so busy milking the system. If his back is so messed up that he can't work, how is he able to stand up for the entire filming of his episode on the People's Court? He seems intelligent enough, so how about looking for work at a desk job where back problems aren't an issue? People like him are why SNAP and other social services have been cut to the bone. Nobody feels like paying to help people who won't help themselves.
Exactly ! I have Sickle Cell which is the most painful thing ever . Im in the hospital every month , getting blood transfusions every month , I’m on tons of medicine , etc . I’m on disability , & I want to work SO bad . There’s times I cry cause I just want to be perfectly healthy & do everything everyone else does . I’m currently in college for nursing & I WILL become a nurse . 🙏🏾

I HATE when people say "they don't look disabled" I remember a kid we went to school with had 2 fake legs. (He was a twin who was born without his legs) I clearly remember the sheer look of mortification from the lady who saw him at foodlion in The handicapped spot. When she verbally said "these lazy teenagers he clearly doesn't look disabled, he is not disabled" For him to hear her and lift up both pants legs and say "you're right, I'll just put these in my trunk and park in the back" I laughed so hard.

I’m from la where it’s hard as hell to get section 8 and waiting list are years long. By the time I got approved I was making 50k a year as a single mom when they offered me the voucher. I looked at the woman and said I can’t do this, she said do what, I said I can’t take this voucher I’m stable I don’t need it. I have been down and out before and at one point needed this desperately but now I’m okay. I said give it to another family please she almost had tears in her eyes and she said thank you for not taking advantage Of the system I wish you the best in life. So it really disgust me to see people like myself who work and bust their ass to make a living sit back while people like him scam the system then he got nerve to be collecting rent on the side smh

Thank you! Cats do not walk on their heels; they walk on their tiptoes. Declawing is horribly painful and disfigures them for life.
A family member helped out in a vet clinic for almost a year. She finally quit because she couldn't stand the declawing procedures. They're brutal.
Cat claws can absolutely be trimmed, and they can also be capped.
But pulling the claws out is a barbaric & horrendous thing that only lazy, ignorant, or abusive people do. Or maybe all three.

Exactly 💯 this is exactly what I feel it literally took me almost 3 years to get my mom on section 8 due to her going blind and kidney failure and which forced her to not be able to work anymore... And that hurted her more than her diagnosis she had always been independent and worked hard for us as kids and they told us there was a waiting list for about 5 years and I had to move back in to help my mom with rent because her new source of income wouldn't allow her to live the lifestyle previously that she had and then u have ppl like this fool going around using and abusing the system and get it quick while others with disabilities could really use it smh 😒
I got mines for being in a homeless program. Thank God for it. Some of us really need it.

I lost the use of my left side due to an aneurysm (I was officially diagnosed “paralysis on left side); yet, I went back to work FULL TIME and neither on disability nor section H (housing) nor on any kind of government assistance programs.

I was involved in an auto accident in early 2020. The person t-boned my driver side and totaled my minivan. The entire driver side was slammed into my left side and head. I have a brain injury, shoulder injury, neck injury, back injury, knee injury, and severe nerve damage I'm in pain constantly. My doctor and neurologist stopped my stronger pain meds after 3 months of the accident because they did not want me to become dependent on them, which I was because the pain was so much worse then. Long story short, I do not know this guy's pain, but with all the pain I'm in daily and symptoms of a brain injury I'm able to function enough to take care of my home, my family, and work because with a disability a job is required under federal law to accommodate you so you can work comfortably. This guy comes across as just using this "back pain" as a crutch to be lazy and high on meds. I also can't believe he came to court after he knows the landlord found out he was subleasing.
Keep up the great work, and I am so sorry you have gone through this. I pray you will continue to get better and stronger.

This is what’s wrong with Section 8. They let the most shady people get into the program. The plaintiff looks perfectly healthy yet he’s allowed to mooch off the taxpayers for years. If that’s not enough, he violates the rules by subletting to take even more advantage of the program he shouldn’t be a part of in the first place.
Section 8 is based on income. Him looking healthy has nothing to do with it.

Disability for chronic back pain….that’s ridiculous! I works for 20 years….had to have a total knee replacement which failed and I had a 20 degree contracture and could not straighten my knee. I was terminated from my job because of that. I applied for SS Disability just long enough to get revision surgery and be able to get back to work and was denied! On my own I had the revision surgery fought my way back.

If his brother is a cop and knew he was doing this then he is crooked too. It’s a shame that people just take complete advantage of things and ruin for those who need it .
This is why we are going through a housing desert now. People like him make it hard for those who really need the services. It also makes renters not want to rent anymore. Why go through the struggle of having to fix your home up multiple times just to get a few dollars a month when you can fix it up once, sell it get your payout and move on.
Not every Section 8 renter tears up or damages their Landlord's property. A lot of them are clean and take good care of their Landlord's properties.
On the other hand, I know Landlord's who rented out their properties to some tenants paying straight rent and damaged their properties.

Yes I have several medical issues and I work because I know and am fully aware of what it is like to be on welfare. Ssi is not welfare. Welfare is public assistance (food stamps, cash benefits, Medicaid and in some states free childcare). SSI is for people who have a medical or mental disability that impacts their ability to work. Many people lie to get on it. He allegedly suffers from back pain, back pain is a medical issue that is hard for doctors to dispute or determine, which makes it an easy claim🤷🏽

Our system is broken. That young man claims a disability. Chronic back pain so there’s nothing in the world he can do to EARN money? Yet he and his girl are here dressed nicely, jewelry, hair done, hair colors, etc. And he manages to sublet the section 8 apartment he is renting. And then have the nerve to complain about his “tenant’s" light bill.

He is legally disabled because of chronic back pain and gets section 8 money plus no telling what other government money yet he somehow finds enough money for all the metal in his face that looks like he fell face first into an open tacklebox of fishhooks. I have absolutely no sympathy for these people who take advantage of government programs just because they can.
