Super helpful man, thank you for this. Just bought a used 1.2T Auris and wondered how it is done with this particular car. Also I never liked jack stands and this little car ramp looks awesome definetely gonna order one soon. Only thing I would do otherwise is I would tighten the oil filter and screw only with a torque wrench. Cheers!
I also have a Corolla station wagon 1.2T and since this year I have been changing the oil and filters myself. I have had this car for almost 5 years and the mileage is about 150,000 km and, as you said, this engine does not burn oil and is simply well made. Thx for vido and take care!
Greetings from Germany! Thanks for the video. I also drive the 1.2t in the Corolla. Which is a bit of an exotic car here in Germany, while it’s all about the hybrid here. I do have some minor issues with the exhaust system which is rattling quite a bit in lower revs. But overall very pleased with the car!
Hi 👋 I think the Corolla is a superb daily driver but much prefer the manual to that cvt nonsense in the hybrid cars. Mine’s been ok so far, just had the fuel pump recall done and it got a clean bill of health, which is nice 👍
I thought the engine oil capacity at service was exactly four litres in these engines and then you are close to the upper mark. I dont fill the filter with oil before screwing it in just like you because it messes up your total oil calculation and secondly the filter screws in horizontally making the retention of oil in the filter difficult. The thin 0w20 oil reaches all parts quickly any way.

Finally a nice day 😎 Time to save on those garage bills.

@@midlifemotors5050 next week is mine due for the recall…. Hope it’s all okay. Hope to see more videos from your car and experience with the Corolla
The arrow in the cabin filter should be pointing down (just like the air flow). Did you put the paper filter upside down?
@@Raj-nh3fc I did. Somebody else advised that earlier. Sorted now thanks 👍
Hey Mate, I tried to get the splash board plastic plug from toyota auris to change oil filter and I'm stuck. Any ideas on how to get it open?
hi there
do you know the diameter of the washer by any chance?

I was under the impression that the arrow is the direction of airflow. So it should be pointing downwards. Thats how i fit mines on the auris 1.2t.
Good point 👍 Thanks
