I love this friendship so much! I think the main thing people misunderstand about Ryland is the fact the he’s not genuinely a bad person. His actions in the games do not define him, and he shouldn’t be treated like they do. It’s easy to say you would be better than him, but you never know if that is actually the truth. The point is, Ryland is very misunderstood and shouldn’t be judged for his actions in the games.
It's because most of his victims are fan favourites. People wouldn't be so angry at him if he only killed irrelevant or unlikeable characters. But it was intentional because I wanted his story to be about the tragic consequences of senseless violence, and the story would have lost its impact if he had targeted only the "acceptable" victims. It's also probably because people forget that when he was in the arena, he didn't see the tributes he killed in the same way as the audience does, because he didn't have access to cameras and didn't know who was dangerous and who was innocent. In his mind, anyone was a potential threat. Gwen's death also messed with his head, and he tried to shut down his emotions so that he would not be overwhelmed by grief. He had a conversation with Sabrina about not getting attached on day 7, which was foreshadowing for his cold, detached attitude later in the games. It was a defence mechanism. I suppose it doesn't help that he didn't show any emotions, making people believe that he was a cold-blooded killer, and the only time he showed a hint of regret was after his victory when he saw Gwen's ghost (which is a hallucination and not an actual ghost btw) asking him if it was worth it. Maybe it was my fault because I thought people would pick up on the idea that after Gwen's death, he would become more detached and ruthless to cope with grief, but I suppose it's hard to explain that without coming off as heavy-handed. I wish I had spent more time focusing on his grief and his conflicting emotions, but hey, maybe I'll save that for victor's pov, whenever that comes out...
While I am still translating the 43rd game, the 45th is coming😂 It's more difficult than I thought to cross the language difference between Chinese and English, and my college life is also busy. Maybe I could finish the translation in the winter vacation. Hope I would be faster than the 45th game.
I have made a whole tribute info and storyline I would rly love to comment but can the maker pls reply so I can know to spend the time typing it out because I would love u to make a vid on it 😊
Ngl I wasn't keen on Ryland but seeing this side of him is fantastic, love these two together hope they can both help each other
She does bring out the best in him.
The Grim Reaper earring 😍
ryland and jewel are both so well written omg
Ryland will learn not to mess with 6 now
And they're both doomed by canon anyway.
I got pretty excited when I saw this, kinda forgot that Ryland won the 44th hunger games, and these 2 I could expect to be friends
My boy is getting neglected 😢
@cyraelin4950 its not that I don't like Ryland, he's cool, but I haven't seen the 44th hunger games for a while, that is the only reason I forgot
My heart aches for them both ❤️🩹😢

Ugh, stop making me like Ryland! He killed my boy Helico but now...I almost sympathize with him.
But that's what I'm best at! Making people sympathise with everyone. 🥺
@@cyraelin4950that wasn't meant to be nasty, BTW! I absolutely love your videos I just got attached to Helico...
I don't blame you. He was a sweetheart.
Джуэл такая мудрая❤

No worries, I understand! Take your time. I also wanted to mention that I also have the 44th on my channel in case you missed it. No pressure, though.
Is this at the end of Ryland's victory tour ?
No, after the parade.

I'm afraid I can't. I have my own project to balance aside from college and a full-time job, so I just don't have the time. I'm sorry.
@ Kk that’s fine
