How would you account for a missing section in the shape, such as a hole of a certain shape?

You would evaluate the second moment of that missing shape around the overall neutral axis the same as a positive area, but you would count the value you determine for that shape as negative in your sum to find the total second moment about the neutral axis. Thanks for watching!
