    I think it’s beautiful!
The lights shimmering is slightly too ‘busy’ for my taste, but that’s maybe just because you’ve got such a strong current in the tank.
I really like the shape of the tank, it’s nice to have more depth front to back when you put in livestock and obviously nice for scaping as well!

Kessil brand lights offer models that adjust not only intensity of the light, but also the color spectrum...you could adjust to your personal liking. VERY nice lights, indeed.

I usually like the shimmer, but this is too intense to the point it makes my eyes hurt.
Maybe it looks normal in real life but the shutter speed of the camera is exaggerating it?

I love the iwagumi aquascape especially the millennium stones. My current scape is also iwagumi and I LOVE IT but you are right, im afraid I might get bored of it soon as there is not much changes going on as compared to a nature aquascape with stem plants. I would love to see some tetras or rasboras and cherry shrimps in this tank. Thank you for sharing George.

Love the shimmer effect on this minimalistic Iwagumi. Imo the Kessel fits best minimalist Planted aquariums like this Sanzon Iwagumi. As for the fish, I think some pencil fish could be a great choice or maybe dwarf Corydoras fish, such as pygmaeus. Simply one single shoal. Keep on scaping

I recently did a very micro aquascape with one rock a two plant types that require no CO2. They seem to be growing nicely, my one issue that I discovered is getting them to stay in the substrate. I had to put in a bit more to actually make it stay down, but I guess it's also due to the small tank I'm using. But thank you for these, their great motivation.

It would be a great (though perhaps expensive) idea to do a few videos on plant species. Really delve into specific plants, the usual suspects (such as crypts, foreground plants, etc) as well as more rare and atypical plants. Sort of a video encyclopedia series where we see how they look when planted and what they require. It would be great to reference when building tanks and look beautiful with the lens you use.

Hey George I recently purchased an aquascraper 600 the other week from aquarium Gardens and I must of spent around £1000 was going to get the tuna sun but ended up getting the twin star 600s and cant be happier as the tuna sun would of pushed the budget even higher.

Regarding the stocking I would love to see a big school of schooling fish like neon-tetras and get some shrimp and those nitrite snails 🐌
Another option is to take some of your he fish from your bigger aquascape - maybe the harlequin rasboras... (although I am enjoying the community feel of that stocking atm)
Bottom line - do what you enjoy 😉

  • @vojinkouba
    @vojinkouba 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi George, I heard from someone who makes living from selling submersive plants for aquariums (yes, he sells plants grown underwater), that switching off CO2 for night is not reasonable. The solenoid is there for electronic sonds that measure amount CO2 in the water. But if you just switch off CO2 for night, you changing pH of water instantly. For night it is then higher up to 2 pH and the plants are very suffering. So yes, if you have pH without CO2 under 7, it is OK to switch it off for the night. But if you have pH of the water without CO2 somewhere close to 8 or higher (measure your tap water), you should not switch it off for night for the love of the plants.

Plants looking amazing George. I prefer the ultra minimalistic Iwa Gumi style myself with 3 stones and just a carpet of one, maybe two, species of plants. Something about the clean look is just so mesmerizing.
Fish suggestion: have you thought about Celestial Pearl Danios? Supposedly shy fish but just unbelievable colors. Either that or a school of green neon tetras.
    Enjoy your holiday.

Hey George, I have an A360X over my 60g cube (24x24 inch), and while it grows my plants FAST, I'm really struggling getting my red plants to stay red! They get redder near the top of tank, but never truly RED. I keep CO2 about 25ppm and keep nitrates

I love the tank and I love the shimmer effect at the surface and on the ceiling and wall, but the shimmer effect on your stone... It completely ruins this tank for me. As soon as I saw it I thought DAMN that's TOO bright which I did not think was possible. And throughout the video if the stone was in the shot at all, it is all I can see. It's like a static tv to me.
Normally I like the shimmer effect but I could not live with this.i think if you lowered the intensity maybe I'd be able to enjoy it....
Sorry got distracted the static effect came back.
Great tank...I'd adjust that lighting to be less intense.

Hi George, another great scape , I really like the choice of plants , should look great when fully grown in. Have you thought of fish yet, maybe a group of Triatherina Werneri, ( I think that is the right spelling ) a beautiful colourful fish ,but not sure if they would prefer more cover. I thought about ember tetras, but that much contrast seems antithetical for an Iwagumi scape. Then I thought about rice fish, but they might blend in too much. Maybe green neon tetras? They wouldn't be a very original choice, but again, Iwagumi scapes aren't about surprises.
