Terrence McKenna will always a timeless treasure of a human being. Few actually "get it" that we are living in a mystery, a time frame of existence that no one can explain or even try, and yet, his consise lectures pull at the deepest cords of our consciencion. Thank you for keeping this memory alive.

The cosmic giggle is a natural outcome of the eternal game of hide and seek. When we glimpse our true nature on mushrooms or dmt we have to laugh at the audacity of a strategy that amounts to hiding in plain sight. It’s like finding the key to the universe and realizing you hid it from yourself.

Good prose, poetry, and some writing can be psychedelic ☮
Terrence McKenna said at the opening of the talk "The Cosmic Giggle: called delusion of reference, this condition…” and then makes another reference to The Second Coming by William Butler Yeats.
What ever we may think of what Yeats was referring to in his piece of writing, a ‘cosmic giggle’ would be a strange path to travel and come to as a final destination.
A giggle as a destination is not the same as many giggles on our passage. The Second Coming by William Butler Yeats is a wonderful piece of writing that I continue to read and reread. Terence McKenna’s reference to it here is another one of his attributes.
@@artemisXsidecross I agree with your statement and I love Yeats and his poetry. Terrence Mckenna has a lot of good ideas but he made the fatal mistake of thinking that everyone could see it if we just gave them psychedelic drugs... that idea didn't work. Another failed belief was that if everyone was given a basic education, our collective quality of life would improve. Well... generations later in america, we see that basic education merely makes some more susceptible to political propaganda-- so our utopia is run by sex-crazed consumers willing to eat their young for a few more years of consumption.............. so even though we crossed over the end of history, those wishing for enlightenment will have to work much harder than drug taking implies. We all have our personal 2012 to face.
Makes you wonder what Mr.McKenna would thought about the covid 19 pandemic. Something along the lines of nature striking back and a tsunami wave in the time wave
