I only came across TT during Covid and fell in love with the show. It was weird watching people age so quickly, since I watched all the episodes in order once I got hooked.
I like seeing them young, makes me feel like a teenager when I would watch with my mother setting in her living room. I miss the 90's with my mum and the old team. if we could go back in time and weren't fated to always be moving forward constenly uncontrolled.
I'm enjoying this, but there is a huge part of my brain going, "WTF -- Mick is thin, Tony has a head full of thick, dark hair, Carenza looks twelve, and PHIL HAS NOT CHANGED A BIT."
Not enough credit to the work Robin probably has to do. Can you imagine this is before computers how much paperwork they had to scroll thru for 2 mentions. Dedication
Every time I see London, I can't help but think what a wonderful, historic, beautiful place it is !!! If I were to ever relocate to England, I would definitely want to live in and or around London.
Kind of fun to see an almost 30 year-old Time Team episode from 1995 47:48, I'm surprised it was written "1995" rather than the Roman numerals that were so common before the year MM.
Good job coming up with this condensed arrangement. You gave us the spirit and feel of each one of these epic tunes in a surprisingly short space. Very wise choices with the arrangement, for real, brother. 🎉 thank you both 🎉
We have, after all those years, haven't we. I surely did. No the least because, as a French, it's improved my vocabulary. A lot. As for British history...
I love looking at a young Phil and the team working with the early geophys equipment. Compared to what they have now we are following old school procedure.
I'm totally jealous you Brits had this show growing up. Jealous you have such an amazing history. It's so awesome to see the public so interested in their ancestors and the past! Here in the US people couldn't care less about our archeology. It doesn’t help that so much of it has been bulldozed and covered up, meaning hidden from us...stolen by the Smithsonian.
Love anything to do with archaeology and as an American that loves British history, this series is awesome Still curious why you guys only have three days on your digs though 😂
It seems amazing to me that no-one has thought of watching a depth meter in a boat being driven along the river. Surely a road crossing would be slightly higher than the rest of the river bed.
The 1990's was the high water mark, in the states. They ended bad and we've been going down every since. Shows like Time team support this idea. There's been very little original series ever since.
No, no, no... The roman ways did not have that top layer of stone. that can only be seen on urban streets, like the beginning of Vía Appia, for example. Anyone can imagine what horses would suffer when galloping on a stone surface, and what was most interesting to the Empire was that the roads were fast and efficient.
Sanitation, clean water, roads, water powered milling machines, thermal heating, a formal structural government, education, art...I mean seriously?? That's just a few things on the list.
SO IN THE END THEY MESSED UP THE BISHOP'S GARDEN AND FOUND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING NEW: THEY COULDNT EVEN FIND THE OLD DIG SITE: THE BISHOP SEEMED QUITE APPREHENSIVE AND SCEPTICAL WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED!
A 30 year old episode of time team is better than anything on tv currently.
Is it 30 years old?
@@moonlover2022 easily...
@@moonlover2022 This aired on January 29, 1995. So almost 30 years ago, yes.
Agree 💯❤
@20:03 mono chrome green PC screen! those were the daze ...
I love old time team. I just want to have a mug of tea and a biscuit and cuddle up and watch.
Tea, a blankie, a kitty and Time Team. The perfect afternoon.
It all sounds like it works!!!RIP Robin,Mick,And Victor 🥺✌️🍻
My cats like Time Team
Not much of a biscuit fan, but I'll take the cuddle up and watch.
Aw man it's like I have just found distant relatives. ☕️🫖🫓 Cherrio!

Which means you too are now sort of an archaeologist, able to date episodes by the status of Tony's hair.
I’m American, and this show is a national treasure…just love it!

Generation X was the greatest!!!
You can imagine Mick being alive
The best crew always together in our hearts!
All the best from Chicago. I know this is like 30 years old, but it’s still exciting to watch.
The old team was the best.
I'm enjoying this, but there is a huge part of my brain going, "WTF -- Mick is thin, Tony has a head full of thick, dark hair, Carenza looks twelve, and PHIL HAS NOT CHANGED A BIT."
Mick is alive
They walked through a time machine :)
You guys are so young!
These people feel like home. Love ‘em.
Not enough credit to the work Robin probably has to do. Can you imagine this is before computers how much paperwork they had to scroll thru for 2 mentions. Dedication
That was Robin's delight.
These old digs are still very cool! Seeing Tony and crew 30 plus years earlier is a hoot as well!😊
Tony's magnum swag is XXL in this one
I think you mean Miami Vice. Don Johnson, anyone?
Look at those kids playing nicely in the garden together, how sweet!

Seeing Tony when he still had hair, is rather fun.
All of them so young!
When I saw the PCs I checked how old this is. LOL. Great show!

Original Time Team music slapped hard.
Would have loved to take classes from Phil and Mick!
Every episode IS a class from Phil, Mick, John, Stuart, Robin, & others.

Any updates on this research?

Bonjour from 🇨🇵. I agree. Nobody cares, here, neither. I live next to a roman road, maybe one settlement and ? Nothing...
What year did this air? As a London archaeology enthusiast and mudlarker I love this!
1995 47:48
This video has inspired me to learn more about it. Keep up the great work!
Good Morning From Rhode Island, This is one I have not seen before.
Bonjour from Nantes 🇨🇵
They are all so young! Still great stuff
Amazing and informative history documentary.
at 44:06 could it possibly be that beside Mick is Matt?
Those beer tins are historic references now.
THank you.
This is interesting 😊 Did you really reach 8 ft down before covering the trench? I hope so, it seems a waste of effort and time if not.
I wish there was footage of Tony Robinson as a young boy playing the Artful Dodger.
Love anything to do with archaeology and as an American that loves British history, this series is awesome

Its because they still work as professors at Universities..
@@beverlyanne5192 ok that makes sense thanks
13:09 The Bishop proposes there should be no history before the Church arrived.
That's how they are, move very diagonally.
Would a sandbank in the river be in the same place after 2000 years? Highly unlikely.
Phil was an absolute dish.
Carenza is just gawjus!
Miami Vice 😎🚁
filmed almost 30 years ago. timeless.
I was there, then, young French waiter having such a good time. ❤London
Good stuff. And the US gets stuck with the "history" channel.
They're so bloody young!😀
Tony looking like he just got back from Miami vice
i need a time team mug...

What did the Romans ever do for us!
birth of capital city london was rome's work????
They usually did burned things down and started afresh. They did so in the village I am from : Andard that became Angers, en France.
Yup, the Romans founded London, look up "Londinium."
*Reply to:* _"birth of capital city london was rome's work????"_
Holy shit I’ve never seen that guy with hair
Spoiler alert: No road was found, but inferred.
10 minutes 53 seconds then you brought out the excavator. I am done. I can't watch your archaeological crime, continue.
I found this episode rather boring. Cities are full of concrete and tarmac, and have been rebuilt many times.
Rome mixed their breed with celts and the new breed England daughter of rome America grandson of rome stay true or lie.
