    We took this tour last summer and it was a highlight of our trip. We ended up with 3 pineapples in our gift pack which was a lovely surprise.

    Went to Maui in November for my honeymoon. My wife and I did basically all of the main things to do in Maui, and the Maui Gold tour was possibly our favorite thing. Great outing, I highly recommend.

    I too love the farm tours and try to take at least one very trip. Although it is a little embarrassing when I go on the tours, because I am one of the rare people who doesn’t like pineapple, coconut, macadamia nuts, or even drink coffee. In any case it does not mean I can not appreciate the process of it being grown or made. I also am not a big fan of resorts either, I would rather be out exploring and experiencing the culture when I go there- been to the islands nine of the last ten years. I look at it this way, if I don’t get on plane home feeling exhausted, I did not do enough! Keep the videos coming!

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide

      we feel exhausted after our trips too! It is fun to explore the island by going to places one is welcomed, not secret or hidden trails (for examples). Farm tours are great, even if you don't love the stuff they are making. I like all the facts and history. Thanks for sharing!

    The Maui Gold pineapple plantation tour is so much better than the Dole Plantation in Oahu. Dole has the soft serve I give you that but that’s pretty much it, I would not recommend going on their train tour, waste of time.
    Maui Gold plantation feels so much more authentic, you can see the actual factory, people working there, the fields, the history, etc. definitely highly recommend the tour!

      I remember when Dole Whip could only be found at the Dole Plantation. Now that Dole Whip is everywhere, saves us a trip to the plantation! Thanks for sharing!

    So weird to know you're so close! Lol I love off Kokomo upper Haiku! Looks fun! So interesting since pineapple is not native to HI from what I understand.

    My group bought one of these pineapples when on Maui. Surprisingly we thought the Dole Royal tasted better, though our favorite is the Kauai Sugarloaf.

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like we need to line them up and do a taste test. Maui Gold says they are the sweetest, but perhaps like Pepsi, sweet isn't the choice.

      @@TheHawaiiVacationGuide both had good structure. But I didn't get a side by side taste. Maybe when the kids are older, the Kauai Sugarloaf farm is worth a shot.

    Every trip to Maui we always bring a 2 pack home with us on the plane. What’s sad the many times we have been to Maui we never knew about the tours. We did do the Dole plantation on Oahu a few years back but your Maui Gold plantation tour looked much better. Did the plantation sell the pineapple ice cream?

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We enjoyed the Maui tour more than the Dole Plantation but sadly, no soft serve pineapple ice cream on the Maui tour! you can get pineapple upside down cake at Hali'imaile General Store!

  • @moneybb80

    How do you get the pineapple home with you? I see it says packaged for flying but did you need to put it in your checked bag or pay for an extra bag orrrr??? Thanks!

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Carry-on is the most popular way. You can put it in your checked bag too. They put it in a cardboard carry box, like for wine.

      Give them a call to see if they have a wheelchair accessible shuttle. The pineapple field is on a dirt road so I am unsure how that would be for a wheelchair.

    Did they drill the core of the tops on the fruit to keep the buyers from being able to propagate a plant at home from the tops of the fruit
