Well Mr Thorn, you sold me on this one. I’ve seen multiple reviews, most people don’t know how to dial in the post controls, always sounds too brash and noisy. But you dialed it in perfectly
Love this pedal! Played a gig with it over the weekend. Sounds and feels like a cranked tube amp, not a compressed overdrive pedal. Using a Rimrock Lil Mo (Klon style) as a clean boost after, and it works great. So glad they came out with the Compact.
Spending the money on this and the Cali76 Stacked Edition have been the best money I've ever spent on pedals ever. Origin really makes exceptional gear. Now they have all sorts of effects. My wallet is sweating just thinking about it.
The 9:50 mark reminded me of the scene in Pick of Destiny when they were daydreaming of rocking out at the battle of the bands when Jack blew that guy's head off with his screams. The opening when KG had like six arms.😅 I just bought one of these, was looking to get another Ethos (and ordered one) but needed something before two months from now, so I bought one used. I'm hoping it works out the way it seems like it does in videos and sound clips. I do wish it had a few of the controls the larger one has. To be honest I don't get needing two channels for the tube/SS rectifier, seems like something you should be able to do with something maybe ½+ the size of this, though it would be better if you don't want to fiddle to swap between two sound.
I love how Origin have stripped down the Revival Drive into a lean, mean tone machine! Awesome video Pete...great to see your beautiful Warwick bass again...remember you staining it at the factory!
Really interesting. I'm intrigued. I play through clean Fender and what you're describing is a bit elusive, at least for me. Plus your enthusiasm comes through.... I'm thinking this in line with my jack of all trades EP pedal could be really versatile.
The controls of this pedal makes me think it would be a good one to place after my other drive pedals.to be able to get the most use out of it's functions . I would like to hear it with other pedals both in front and behind. That's always a concern when mixing drives on a board. Where to fit them in and how best to use them. Great review again.
That bass reminds me of the Warwick/Framus Custom I used to work on for Jorge Casas... Man, I miss that guy... such a talent. You do it pretty good justice!
Great review. I think the most awesome feature about this pedal, and what makes it stand apart from other "amp in a box" pedals , is that you can tweak it to sound great with any amplifier. I have the 2 channel version and it sounds killer with any amplifier I use it with.
Pete, if you haven't yet - you need to get your hands on a keyztone ExChanger for review. I need someone to tell me if it is really as sick as it seems to be..
It's a strange era that someone like you is famous for gear reviews more than being famous as a musician and for your creativity....I normally enjoy watching your video intros for the music and I care less for the gear
Just seen you on the ITV This Morning program playing with the Clasdic Rock Show. Saw the show earlier this year and it was fantastic. Are you doing the uk show with them that's coming up?
Definitely sounds like a fun pedal to spend an afternoon with dialing it in. Wonder if it's worth the real estate to play the original? Great demo as usual Pete!
So...... This? Or the Neubaber Neuron? Orrrrr, the Atomic Amps Amplifire? I use a tube power amp with an AMT Electronics SS-11A which I love, just curious.
Thanks Pete! A man of your word as you said this would be forthcoming. I will be procuring this pedal and can't wait to hear it along with my Suhr's and Fender Super Sonics. Very comprehensive demo. Thanks, JD (The J.D. Project)
Sure, your gear demos are great -- but a track of THIS quality actually belongs on a proper record. Would be thrilled to hear more of your original material.
Pete, it seems to me that over the last 18 months or so, you tend to dial in a lot more of the higher frequencies in your guitar sound than you used to do. Personally, I like that, but I wonder why this is. Is it just simply a matter of (changed) taste, or could this be the result of a bit of a hearing loss problem? Or am I just dead wrong? I'm not trolling. I really believe you used darker, or warmer sounds a while ago, no matter what pedal or amp you're demonstrating. Am I saying something stupid here, or do others feel the same about this? 😳
Not going to speak for Pete obviously, but I’’ve been following the same trend lately. I’m starting to appreciate all the “information” that you find in the higher frequencies.
After following you for years I just noticed you didn't use your pinky much... That's unfair. You can shred like crazy, and you don't even use all your weapons. Wish I could do the same...

Always a good day when the 335 and the green Shur show up.
Damn!!! What an intro, wicked!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Also love their Cali76 compressor. One of two compressors I've ever liked...
After seeing Rabbea Massad doing a shootout of this device I have been waiting for this video. As usual, I'm not disappointed, great review, cheers!
Thanks!!
So much original material to demo products. Love it.
Great chord progression, Pete! Your engineering skills are polished.
Great video, Pete! Thanks for introducing us to this cool pedal!
Spending the money on this and the Cali76 Stacked Edition have been the best money I've ever spent on pedals ever. Origin really makes exceptional gear. Now they have all sorts of effects. My wallet is sweating just thinking about it.
This man has taught me more guitar stuff than anyone else ever... If he says it's a good pedal guys, it is. Go ahead and buy this pedal!!
Love the sound of this, doesn't quite nail an amp but its close -and even better, sounds really unique and musical.
Very cool editing!! Your playing is just the best and your vids, very informative! Thanks
That's a pretty killer track!

Pete you're killing me. This might be the ticket for a nice amp like breakup pedal. So many good pedals out there...
Stellar playing Pete...
What an absolutely fantastic vid - such a cool, likeable, talented dude. Subbed!
i loved it so much! You need to do a song with this demo!Don't change anything!ITs Giving me chills! love the transition BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Thanks!
Outstanding tone!!...as always.
Agreed
Gosh! Killer track, killer pedal! Thanks Pete! 😎🤘
Amp drive type pedals are getting great. Amazing demo pete.
Absolutely amazing as usual! Particularly appreciate the 10 pound pedal holder, looks like you're trying real hard not to let the pedal escape :-)
I have this pedal. Sound great and very versatile. 😍
Great stuff Pete. That jam was face melting! Great demo.
I danced like crazy to that opening tune.
What a great composition!!!!!
I love how Origin have stripped down the Revival Drive into a lean, mean tone machine! Awesome video Pete...great to see your beautiful Warwick bass again...remember you staining it at the factory!
Great coverage Pete, timing is great as my Cali76CD just arrived and I am so pleased!
Really interesting. I'm intrigued. I play through clean Fender and what you're describing is a bit elusive, at least for me. Plus your enthusiasm comes through.... I'm thinking this in line with my jack of all trades EP pedal could be really versatile.
Not only do you get a great gear review you get AWESOME music to boot! Thank you for everything you do! \m/
Thanks Michael!
Great video Pete! One day I hope to play along with you....no lead, no lag, just to play along.......WITH YOU!!! And Thanks!
Look at Pete go, a-thumpin’ on that bass! Cool pedal - cool shirt!
Great vid Pete, bought one of these thanks partly to your video. Can confirm it sounds incredible with a Tubescreamer style pedal before it!
Can’t wait for mine to arrive! Hopefully this week.
..and how do you like it? ;)
WHAT A TRACK😍🤘🏻🏴☠️!!!!!
Man that is one of your coolest songs
First tone was like: That's why I 'hate' Fenders
Stick it in a mix and the hairs are standing up on my neck and arms.
Great vid again Pete :)
I am blown away with into tune!!!!!!!!!!
You're gear demos sounds better than alot of records!! Killer tones and playing.
Thanks Hans!

Awesome playing and great tone! 👍🏻
Love the last few rhythms!!
That bass reminds me of the Warwick/Framus Custom I used to work on for Jorge Casas... Man, I miss that guy... such a talent. You do it pretty good justice!
Great sounds Pete thorn.
Very elaborate and musical piece , thumbs up Pete 🤘
Very thorough and well thought out demo. Thanks for a great review. Much appreciated!
Nice new music direction on intro Pete! +1 on Cali 76
Sounds great on Bass! Wish we could've heard a bit more of the bass guitar experience but thanks for demo.
Great tones, great tune! This would be a great one to expand into a full on instrumental.
Stellar tune, Pete! Just delicious!
Great video and a great track as well. Keep up the great work, love your channel
This sounds exactly what I'm looking for for my clean channel on the BE.
Dear me, what an amazing intro.
Great track again, nice sounds
Holy mother of god. Those bass tones. I think I'm going to have to drop some cash and get one.
Sounds wicked Pete!
That 335 of yours is awesome, Pete.
I think Pete had the extra large coffee that morning! Great track 👍
Thanks!

Thanks Pete ;-) Love your Demos bis Fan!
Thanks!
Everyone of your videos are awesome bro
Thanks man!!!!
You had me at Marshall Plexi! Haha.
Damn Pete what a badass track.
awesome pete..can u make video demo using Nux Solid Studio (big one)?
Pete, if you haven't yet - you need to get your hands on a keyztone ExChanger for review. I need someone to tell me if it is really as sick as it seems to be..
Love the intro music!
Sounds very Nashville to me!
Other than the obvious feature differences.......How does the Compact sound and feel compared to the larger Revival Drive?
It's a strange era that someone like you is famous for gear reviews more than being famous as a musician and for your creativity....I normally enjoy watching your video intros for the music and I care less for the gear
Just seen you on the ITV This Morning program playing with the Clasdic Rock Show. Saw the show earlier this year and it was fantastic. Are you doing the uk show with them that's coming up?
Yep I will be there in January/feb
Wicked ! What is the rack mount called to the left of the monitor please? I'd really like that it's very very neat
Nice to see AMT getting some love. I've got the B-drive Mini, which is a cool little high-gain overdrive.
How about that ghosting feature?
Very B.O.C Love it!
Which so you think is closer to a Voxish sound the compact or standard/custom revival drive?
Pete!!!! Please answer!! This or the Neunaber?........??????
Thanks Pete! A man of your word as you said this would be forthcoming. I will be procuring this pedal and can't wait to hear it along with my Suhr's and Fender Super Sonics. Very comprehensive demo. Thanks, JD (The J.D. Project)

Thanks Henry! There’s links to my albums in the video description
Hi Pete great video, thanks ;-) Do you think this would work well into the clean channel of a UAD amp sim? Cheers
Most likely ya!
Pete, would you say the pedal noise floor is low, high or average?
What color is that green Suhr? Looks sick!
Cadillac green
Did I miss something somewhere? Is that pedal only without an IR?
The sounds are seriously awesome!
Correct yes
@@PeteThorn Damnit Pete! You make me wanna buy everything! Haha! Killer video as always!
Would this work as a preamp/tone shaper and enhancer going into my HX Stomp?
Yea! Would make a good pair

Carl Wictorin ; I understand. That’s where I live.
it smells like red special in here!
I really like that track! That was very interesting. I'll be lifting some of those ideas....
As always killer work. And I've gotta find your studio and steal that green Suhr! Maybe while I'm there the 335 too 😉.
Can I have your OX Box please?? Lol. I want one of those things so bad but there to damn expensive
After following you for years I just noticed you didn't use your pinky much... That's unfair. You can shred like crazy, and you don't even use all your weapons. Wish I could do the same...
Love your demo’s but not a fan of that thing. Had the sound tin foil. Just not for me.
These things suck...owned the big version. So many better overdrive pedals. They sound fizzy and fake
That’s clearly not the case in my video
First thumbs down!😉
