I really encourage everybody who loves the ODR-1 to check out the Wampler Belle. It sounds fantastic and it gives you t a bit more tonal flexibility in addition to a smaller enclosure 👍👍👍
Dude, you may be under powering your HX Stomp. The Line6 Stomp requires 900ma for full operation and the HX Effects requires 1A. You will need to use a parallel flex adapter (#8800) and the yellow flex cable (#3050) to power it via two outlets from the DC7 set at 9V. Alternatively you can also use the CIOKS CRUX to power the Line6 devices from the 24V outlet on DC7. This solution would free up two outlets on DC7.
Awhhh mate! Glad you made the board in the end 😊🙌🏻 It’s a wicked board.. I’m still loving mine! Literally taken it everywhere. It’s a brilliant board 😊💪🏻
I bought the TC Electronic Impulse and threw it on the end of my board for a backup. Now I just go to the soundboard for performances. Sounds pretty good but if possible, I’m bringing a 15 watt and a 1/12. Nice board. Gain stages are very nice.👍
Boss has been making pedal boards since the early 80s. They used to be molded areas to specifically fit a certain amount of boss sized pedals and have a power supply built in.
Hey John, I would like to see a video on how you can control midi pedals with the helix (in theory you could send midi informations to the kernom and activate your drive pedals through switches and snapshots) Idk maybe it would be interesting to optimise your board like that.
Actually, people have told me that there is one pedal that does make me sound a "Million Times" better. It's always the mute switch. Why? I don't get it either.
You got the ISO-12! They had no stock week before last! 😂 - I only needed the 10 anyway … Lovely thing about the two bigger HB ISO supplies is the USB power - when I’m not playing my own stuff I’m usually working off charts in my iPad and it’s great to power it from the pedalboard.
Someone else has said you could be under powering the stomp. I think they are right. I would not trust that Harley Benton power supply if it only has 300 ma outs. You would need to daisy chain 3 minimum to power the stomp reliably. I know some power supplies often underrate the output figures, but I wouldn’t trust that on a gig. One thing I have learnt building pedal boards is never skimp on the power supply. Spend some money via Cioks or Gigrig.
Absolutely love the BCB-1000, I’ve had mine for a handful of years now and it’s held up nicely. The board is the right size for having all the essentials and a couple fun pedals. I’ve crammed a Quad cortex, HX stomp, a fuzz, and the microcosm with a little room to spare.
Nice board!!!! Looks like you have some room for a compact midi controller, unlocking some serious potential for that Kernom Eclipse and HX Stomp. Morningstar is great for folks new to midi. User friendly software for programming.
Cordy beat you to the punch got this when it came out. Only complaint is that after a while the thumb screw gets striped. This is because there is no sturdy receiving thread it's just a small slight thread hole on the actual boss pedal frame. I tried to contact boss but they don't seem to exist online where I can call.
I know you've explained before, but how do you route your HX preset to get the effects routed for stage amp and FOH? I know you've mentioned in a video. I really dig this set up.
I tried to do the same thing with my Stomp XL. I wanted an out to my amp and cab and an out to my FRFR that didn't require changing cables and global settings. The only thing I could figure out was to set the Send to Line level in globals and run it to the FRFR. That requires a block in each preset for the Send, but otherwise seems workable. I do mourn the loss of a precious block. Anyone have a better solution?
On your "blusey gigs" do you ever go from the send of the Helix to the effects loop in of an amp as to allow a selection of different amp sounds?? Or do you just like to go straight in?? And which of these options is the best for your different gigs???
Also, this board was 399.99. That's what I paid for mine. Right now the BCB-1000 is 299.99????? thank you boss for lowering the price for everyone almost 2 years later 💀
A lot of TH-camrs just copy professionals gear, no originality anymore, Nathan is using Bukovics inspired board here, which has become a huge trend with TH-camrs.
That’s why I buy weird shyt. You can still get 80’s rack mount shyt cheap so I buy a lot of that stuff and no one uses it anymore so you can get different tones that way. Play what you hear in your head and buy weird shyt no one uses and boom instant “unique-ness”.
Love the sounds and board but I think this whole board could easily be replaced by just having a Quad Cortex or FM3 (or similar) with a Volume Pedal. It may not be as much fun for you personally, but if you're looking for the most practical and versatile... what do you gain anymore? I don't know if pedal boards make much sense unless they have flag-ship components like Strymon FX, UADFX etc. or you already have a lot of pedals or for nostalgia reasons.
It’s Way more convenient for me to write notes or draw on my iPad but I still like using paper and a pen. I use Spotify all the time but I still like playing records. People like driving classic cars despite all the headaches. Sometimes it doesn’t have to always been what’s more convenient. Doesn’t really matter does it, just enjoy what you enjoy. With your logic there’s no need for musicians anymore anyways. AI can create songs just by me describing how I want the song to sound, much more convenient than having to fish around for chords on the guitar….
I’m surprised the BCB-1000 doesn’t get more love. Like all Boss products it’s nearly perfect.

I think he misspoke, the power unit he mentioned has a 3,000mA output for the Stomp (or other hi current demanding units).

Wow, even across the pond you can’t get away from playing Sweet Home Alabama in a cover gig.

The Solid Sweet Sounds of Cordy coming thru, GREAT!!!!
Had the bcb-1000 for a few years. Best board I’ve had. Also a good enough size to keep me from going overboard.
Absolutely spectacular as always 👍🏼

The wonkyness of those pedals on that board make me itch.

The opposite of what they say to me.
I sound like two guitarist when I play, two really bad ones.

Yeah it is a good compact size but the threads in the frame that catch the thumb screws suck. They should have had welded threaded capped holes.
@ totally agree, probably the biggest flaw but a minor one from my experience
@ Yeah it's all fun till it happens to you then you got to put Napa Helio coil that never stays and needs to be changed out every 4 months
Good stuff

the real star of the show were the moccasins

If I had a board that big I’d just take my Helix.

Hi was the HX just used for effects?
I have the same board. its awesome
Between producing reviews on modelers, guitars and other gear, tweaking settings and pedalboards, where does John find the time to actually play? :)
the "permanent" board

So many people copying Bukovac’s set up.
