fal flam Not necessarily, they're connected to the Emerald Dream, but the practice is taught to mortal races by beings of the Emerald Dream. Night elves were taught by Cenarius, while various groups of Trolls were taught be many different wild gods (known to trolls as 'Loa'). Cenarius, by the way, is a wild god too. Not quite sure where the OP was going with the druid part myself either, though.

A quest giver Tauren in Northrend claims he was one of the first Tauren Druids, taught by Cenarius too, over 10,000 years ago and given immortality by Nozdormu, but there's debate over whether he's really canon. However, he also claims many of his brethren forgot their teachings, perhaps indicating Tauren learned the art again from the Night elves or another wild god, but it's not explicitly stated. As for Worgen, they're taught by Night Elves as an attempt to help them control their condition.
I have been leveling alts. I have been playing Alliance for past year, decided to play some Horde now. I don't mind WoD. I missed out on 10 years of content so I really enjoy leveling alts.

ROFL. I find it hilarious how some noobs judge private servers without having ever played one. They seem to think it is nothing like "real wow" because nobody could ever recreate what Bliz did. They also seem to think it's just some guy in a basement somewhere. Also, many people think it is somehow "not safe" to play on one. I've played several, and play right now on a vanilla one, BC one and wotlk one. They are all almost 100% blizzlike and bug free. They are professionally maintained, and many of the servers have a team of gamemasters answering tickets etc. The experience on the ones I play on is actually far better than my experience of retail servers during MoP and WoD.
I don't play on them because I don't like fraud, but I'm sure the servers are quality, blizzard is good at making games for people to take without permission.
I've considered playing on a private server just to experience the pre-cata lore first hand. But it's hampered by three issues: 1. Time investment, 2. Finding a decent private server, 3. Everyone that has ever suggested a server has much lower standards than I do, apparently. Even though my standards aren't very high. So I read wikis and use my magical powers of IMAGINATION to fill in the gaps. All the knowledge without any of bullshit.
