The story in this chapter show us an important lesson in insurgency and guerrilla warfare: The important of intelligence, counter intelligence, and internal security.
For an insurgent group or guerrilla army to survive, internal security is top priority, *especially when you are operating under enemy occupied territory. Just one wrong move, and the entire network is at risk.*

The Goldings subplot was devastating. Imagine that hundreds of people unknowingly dies by your hand. It would break somebody.
Golding decided to end her life is the saddest scene in ch12 and Logos telling the damazti to kys is the funniest

Ennui and apathy over a long, long life is a thing most immortals struggle with, according to various medias. So yes, death by this point has become an interesting experience.
With very long life, Damasti believe that they have no room to be better or to evolve. But Logos told them that death will being new lifes and then 2 new Damastis will find another way of evolution.
The summary alone is half an hour long.
I'm glad we now have the anime as a more efficient source to experience the story, because I don't have time to read an entire essay between stages.
Tbh, the anime especially S2 really miss out quite a lot of details
@@mn7306 It's inevitable that details will be lost considering the amount of text they have to adapt, but overall it's still a better way to experience the story in my opinion.

I still prefer reading the story than The anime. Everything being rushed and toned-down, the changes sometimes make me really hard to like it

especially the idealism and interaction that sell the character and situation more
ofc not giving excuses that early main story arc like the whole reunion is badly pacing and some scene is dragged too long sometimes
tho for victoria arc its improved alot and chap 12 pacing is really good imo but as always, AK long novel style of writing is not for everyone

I read myself this chapter 12. Your story summary is top noch! Everything is so well structured and you don't miss anything except for how W made fun of Hoederer after rescuing Ines (I love W teasing Hoederer and Kal, that was hilarious).

This is the first chapter where i read the entirety of the story whilst playing the stages. I thinki its one of the better paced story, concise yet enough information to keep me engaged. Overall very nice,cant wait to read ch13

There's this weird immersive appeal when you're simply reading the short summary between chapters and then watching these full summary on TH-cam.
It's as if you're one of Rhodes Island's operators who goes from battlefield to battlefield, only knowing key events that happened from time to time (since you're too focused carrying on missions) and once the battle is over, you're given a complete report of the whole thing going on.

For Golding it's unfortunate that she killed her self 😢 even though it's actually not her fault, and Baird death is rather unnecessary or rather stupid.

Cador was a pain in the butt however he was keeping his cool until Norport's breakdown, some time later, it made him kick two elder people out of the gym that were nice to him...
Golding dealing with survival guilt, tired and someone that try to convince her to not do it more interested on them self than Golding. For Baird I have mix feeling about it, it is unnecessary? Maybe but it kinda fit her character. And for cador, I hate him more than sarkaz and hope this is the last time I see him in the story

The whole time in this story, Cador's gender was never specified, so the whole time I thought he was a girl until someone explicitly said "*he* left".
It wasn't even a trap thing I literally just assumed because it was ambiguous and every other member of the gang was a girl so why not him?!

Man they just outright kill Baird at the end. Golding I can understand, she can't bear to face the guilty anymore and take her own life. But Baird ? Does it really necessary to kill her though ? I can see that war is cruel and the way her die by her acquaintance because of war is tragic, but still....
I think the point of Baird's death is to underline how pointless everything that Siege has done so far has been since she's returned to Victoria. She wanted to come back in triumph and save the day, but ended up just falling in with the Self Salvation Corp and not making a big impact, mostly being reduced to a common fighter. Then she finally had an opportunity to be the "Chosen One" and retrieve the Sighs of Kings, only to get Allerdale killed and find out that the sword doesn't even work or do anything, making all of the sacrifices to retrieve it completely pointless. At this point, finally, she just wants to do ONE good thing and save a single person - she isn't even trying to be greedy anymore and just wants to get the last of her loved ones out of the city. And then she fails at that too. Siege has been broken in every single way possible at this point - she is a failure as a leader, a king, and as a friend. Baird's death is important because it signals the death of Siege's hope that she's been desperately holding onto since she returned to Victoria.
@@SeehanImpact Yeah, they really did Siege dirty by making her failure incessantly. I still remember her debut on last screen of chapter 8 (IIRC) and though it gonna be her triumph return. It's turn out she can't even do anything at all. Let's hope all of this are the building for atleast her final victory, otherwise it would be a letdown.

The whole Act 2 story is very appealing to me compared to Act 1. I couldn't care less about Act 1 entire story but I'm very invested into Act 2.

I must have accidentally skipped the story node with Golding and Baird's last moments. Does anyone happen to remember which story node they are in?
As a person who has suffered from suicidal thoughts... i can understand the suffering from Golding, yet her decision is something i am struggling to accept... her line of arguments to choose give up on live almost left me without an argument to keep myself living. Since each person live theirs own hell, the rest of the society cannot simply say something like: "Just try your hardest to live" or something alike. We, those who are suffering or have suffered suicidal thoughts, will not accept so shallows arguments... that even make someone to be more radical and really try to attend against theirs live.
So... that part of the Episode make me sad, really ,really sad, beside the "a waifu was killed", it is Suicide... and in a way, Hippogryph kind of celebrate it, wich to me... after all the effort Myself, my family, friends and many other people who help me... it is bad, bordely disgusting.
As for the rest of the Episode... i felt the Tragedy is already doing bad. We need a little more hope into the storytelling because, even with the Merc Family reunion, there are not enough vanilla moments to withstand the bitter taste of the rest of the events in the story... and if we add to that the previous Episodes... it makes me wonder, at what point will we be able to enjoy it again?
A 6/10 to me this chapter

This chapter is the best written chapter so far in the main story. And it's 30% shorter than ch 11(4-5 hr) which is already shorter than ch 10( 5-6 hr).
It really baffles me why EN players complain. If they don't like reading then just don't care about the story and don't complain either.
@@YandereENjoyer4469 It's not a matter of not liking the story, the problem is how the story is delivered. Not everyone has time to read walls of text between stages when many have little time in the day to play and all that time ends up spent on one or two stages.
This combined with all the characters (including random nameless NPCs) in the game having to speak entire monologues to say something that could be said with a few sentences makes it difficult to enjoy the story at certain points.

I am pretty sure writers of game already know about people complaining about length yet I respect they don't give a f.. K. So players who are not willing to read shouldn't care either.
