I'm from a small dying railroad town that's full of people struggling and i can't help but understand what the characters are going through. This side story hit too close to home. Benny leaving reminded me of how my family felt about my little brother leaving for the Marines. The exploitation of the bank serves as a reminder how our nation can legaly wring you dry. Not letting go of the past killed Leone. Showing forgivness saved Woody and Cliff's lives. Helena still manages to greet everyone with smiles despite her past. And Jessica is able to break free of her chains to become more stronger than she ever was. All these things hit my heart pretty hard in a way I never forsaw. This is now my favorite story event. Thanks for the recap FrostByte!

I laughed at the end cus I was expecting 'peace is always an option' ending especially with the lore you pretty much summarized from the video xD

I already read the lore in game before, and one of the most hilarious n the Heist operation when woody ask for the password in 10 seconds, he will shoot the president, then during countdown the president talks nasty words to woody until in the count of 1, the president finally tell the password but the way is the same as shaw. also, the last line what Jessica said: I always chasing something, but no matter she never reaches it, so this time I am not chasing anymore, but starting all over.
Am I the only one who felt Cliff exuded Metal Gear vibes when he talked about his grim experiences with war, and his plan to be the one controlling how wars go to accomplish his goal for world peace?

Finished the whole video,42minutes,stayed throughout,Its amazing how the story is when you summarise it and put AI voice to read the story with the bgm,I can feel the emotions in it... Different as when I'm playing the game(new AK player) ,hanging to skip most dialogue
(spoilers for an event that's been out for several months) this one fucking broke me. i think the last time an arknights side story actually made me cry was "lingering echoes" (that's not to say i've thought any of the other more heavy stories were BAD, but it takes a lot for a work of fiction to evoke such a physical reaction out of me). there was a time when i genuinely believed that no other arknights side story was going to hit as hard as that one. i was so, SO wrong. as someone who's from the u.s., the writers really hit the nail on the head with a lot of the references and allegories to some of our own very real problems with financial instability, militarization (in particular how a lot of the military can really, REALLY end up being exploitative towards a lot of lower-class kids who are in it for the benefits they promise), and poor treatment of a lot of laborers. i started crying when leone killed himself during the heist and finished that event with my face covered in tears and snot; to this day i cannot think about ANYTHING to do with this particular event without starting to get choked up. another thing that gets me is that we don't necessarily get a more /outspoken/ or confident jessica. we get someone who is working towards that, and is definitely more visibly steadfast about her resolve even if she's definitely really apprehensive about the journey there, and is still visibly dealing with a lot at the end after what she's been through. that bit where she breaks down at the end, during her departure towards the frontier... :( conclusion: this event made me sad. it has been several months, this event still makes me sad. i am wishing the best for the catgirl with a gun

"Clip" Cliff is a hilarious nickname because his guns don't use clips, they use magazines. Either he's the arknights equivalent to Sneako or he's referring to the chip clips he uses to keep his doritos from going stale.

Honestly, I think Global was the winner through and through. It's less on the nose, while also conveying better the ideas in the story. And on top of that, it sounds absolutely rad as hell, making it stand appart from other similar scenarios.
Oh yeah definitely cooler and deeper. But That's if the player gets it or bother to find what it means, players already "give up" on it. Fancy indeed but only for "group" of players.

I really depend on these recaps to keep up with the arknights story. The plot is so captivating, but the writing itself (or maybe the translation) is just too much to sit through on the regular But looking at the viewcounts vs effort, i can't blame you for not doing them anymore

The fact that even a summary takes 40 minutes to go through illustrates everything wrong with the "wall of text" storytelling method. There has to be a better way. Preferably one using the voice actors.
