Although your late to the party re:C3 I do agree it's the best cave. I alway repeat the Ramp-up mission O2-Fuel-Concrete-Glass & use that place as a base enough room for a 3x3 & expand to 3x4 if needed. The gold has been nerfed in there as the first time I hit it there was 11 nodes then gradually it dwindled down to 3 or 4 then last time I was there only 1. Be prepared to fight bears..lots and lots of bears. When your done with the ramp up mission you will have enough over to create a T4 bench hunting rifle & an extractor. Your ship lands in C4 almost right on top of a vein so you may as well get the exotics. Again that was nerfed from around 245 to 145 per vein. I can do this in a day.. If your efficient the clock timer should end around 23.14.00 hrs left weather & bears permitting of course. Total Payout for ramp up 600 space bucks plus 145 exotics. I've even tried using 2 extractors on the same vein but the results are the same. Best of luck Shabby.
Thanks for all the tips. I left Icarus when it first came out and came back when there were more options to locations and game play. Really appreciate all your help
I didn't know about this or this particular bug. I don't know if they've fixed it either. I just know that in the top right corner of E2, there's a cave off the river in the side of the bank that if you go to the very back of the cave, you end up going "underwater". . . . The hitbox for the river running behind/above that cave is really janky for it to be flowing into that cave. But you go to the back and you'll get the underwater vision thing and any and all on person lights will go out. I thought my lamp had run out of fuel, but then I realized I was also some how under water, even thought I wasn't standing in that puddle.
The cave in C2 and the one you featured in C3 are truly great. Large enough to be able to get the titanium to craft a hunting rifle if you want one. I usually pick the C3 cave as I like to craft up to an electric extractor and biofuel generator to get exotics on missions (the electric is so much faster than biofuel powered extractors). I have noticed that a lot of wildlife is attracted to the region just outside of the cave - including at least one bear every morning. I found if I craft a 1x1 bear trap (4 door frames as walls), I usually get a bear, and at least 1-3 wolves, pigs, and emu's. Super nice for harvesting bone and leather. It will be a shame once they finish the cave and the debuffs apply (and probably they will add worms). Appreciate your videos! Cheers! JW
@@rankerone8272 Hi Rankerone - so I call it a bear "trap" because the bear cannot fit through the doorway. What it actually provides is a safe (or safe-ish) place to encounter the bear. You can stand inside and the bear tries to get at you and you can just stab his head. something I often build near a base out in an area I will be frequently going to to get lumber, fiber, etc. Now I've gotten a little more skilled at dealing with bears, but it was really helpful earlier on when I wasn't. And for that cave, that area seems to have bears spawn quite often. Apologies for being misleading.
@@johnwilkinsoniv1746 thank you very much for the clarifications , I do have problem with those darn bears I'll try that the worst it can aspen to me is I die lol. BTW is it in stone or wood your 1x1 ???
Found it. WOW. It's perfect. I built my base structure at the entrance. Also found the one next to the waterfall. But you need to swim to it and get attacked my the piranhas. Plan on building a walkway to it. Thanks for posting this
This is the best cave when the game requires you to craft T4 stuff in the Riverlands. You don't have to bother with construction, everything is available on the spot. I also like the D2 cave for Clustered: Extended Survey, which is closest to all the POIs where you can gather all the resources you need to create 1x1 bases for safe scanning.
If u think a little, even in normal caves is better to build only to skip the grind for a base, has his downside but still can be better than to pay attention to storm damage of the builded base :d
If they're aggro'd on you, yes. And they'll also generally just wander into already opened caves, ie the ones that spawn in without the rock wall barrier covering them. But the wandering in is something that I've noticed a lot of animals just doing. Currently, if you have a few movement boosting talents, bears stop becoming an issue. I'm able to side strafe around bears and fight them hand to hand without getting hit. The main problem occurs when other animals get into the fray, but usually I'm able to control the engagement enough to not have to worry about the bears. But if you're worried about it, if you do post up in a cave, build a beam palisade (place a couple of vertical beams upright, cancel the grid lock, line up the next beam next to the one you've placed, rinse and repeat to make a wall) in front of your cave. Bears won't climb over things you've built and unless they've completely aggro'd on you or you've blocked a reasonable path for them (like boxing them in a smaller space) they typically won't attack your stuff. The other option would be to just hedgehog the front of your cave. Build it about 3 layers deep and that should kill any bear determined to try to get past that line. You'll probably lose about 2-5 hedgehogs (depending on how the bear falls and reacts) but that's just rope and wood in the crafting bench.
Playing around in the cave now, no sickness, but even with blocking the main entrance up with concrete walls, the bad weather still affects you and wants you to get into shelter
There goes another regret i chose riverland Cause i was too scared and just pick game recommended spawn No bison, no best cave Always scared and worried till i unlock stone structure
Just reached it today 9/18/23. No worms at all. In fact started an Open World in the Riverlands to check this one out. Very pleased. Will build up, get items I need then move out when ready. Really want to be outside after all.

1x1 how can you catch a bear in a 1x1 i am curious to know how you install that trap lol

Yeah I think they added piranhas and the cave may not be 100% safe now.
Indeed this is the best cave, thank for sharing with us!
found a similar cave up NE of there and is similar except at odd places the cave has no shelter.
This is the same as well
There's a similar cave in F2, though that's a little out of the way and the only access is over water.
Yes I think that's one of the new caves
Might be. It's right above your spawn pod in this map
Top of F2 (start of the river) there another MASSIVE cave with nodes. I built a stable and path into it using wooden planks (no predators bother you)
Yes! I believe back in the day, it was MOSTLY empty at the time xD

Cave building is over powered
Hehe. You said do do. 😀
There's several of these caves in the Riverlands, but this one is by far the best.
Pfffft 😆
Hahaha, was about to add a "2:30 doo doo comment" but you noticed too, have my upvote!
Keep up the good work Shabby!
lotta bears in the Riverlands .... will they follow you into the caves?

What settings do you put to have the cave lit up like that? Every cave I go into is pitch dark.
Turn down shadows. Check out my video on the perfect cave settings, if you're subbed it should be the recommended video right on my home page ;)
That C3 cave actually doesn't require turning shadows down, it is not dark at all during the day.
Is this cave still available in sandbox and if so in Olympus or Styx
Olympus, the cave may have had updates since this video so not sure if it's super safe any longer.
Anyone know if this cave is still like this or have cave sickness now?
Playing around in the cave now, no sickness, but even with blocking the main entrance up with concrete walls, the bad weather still affects you and wants you to get into shelter
I did not see lot of iron :(

Year later and still never fixed
Don't hold your breath haha
@@ShabbyDoo I've learned not to
full of worms
This is pretty old now, perhaps they actually put something in all these empty caves? lol
Try the cave in D10 S.W desert area no worms as of writing this
