    Prince is SO diverse! Rock, funk, jazz, pop, ballads. Played over 25 instruments, wrote all lyrics, songs, 4 movies, 39 albums in his 39 yrs as a recording artist.💜

    Prince is my favorite musician, and I’m looking forward to watching you go on the Prince journey. Sooooo many amazing guitar solos in so many genres of music. I would recommend live versions of Shhh, Purple Rain, Empty Room/Elixer from the Montreux Jazz Festival, Motherless Child, Guitar, Bambi… the list is endless. Enjoy!!!

    Great reaction! Prince is a musical God! He's an absolute genius and has a super deep repertoire. He taught himself to play over 20 instruments. You should definitely react to Prince. You're in for a ride! I'd start w "Let's Go Crazy" first since you're a rock guy and you like guitar. Prince is a guitar God💜

    New sub! This is one of the best live performances I've ever seen. Did you notice Prince tossed his guitar at the end - was it waiting for him in Heaven? (RIP to both Prince and Tom Petty) I don't know where to tell you to start with Prince, except from the beginning. "For You" is his first album, but "Controversy" and "1999" had a few early hits. Then Purple Rain...that's enough to cover you for a few weeks of Prince. But his newer stuff is incredible. You almost have to work up to it. IMO, 3 musicians were basically born with a guitar as a part of their own bodies: Hendrix, Prince, and SRV.

    And to think he didn't practice what he was going to do with the band.....they were in awe too

    • @nfpnone8248
      @nfpnone8248 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Prince did practice with the others, he just didn’t go all out during the rehearsals, he saved it for the actual performance!

    • @yousexymf
      @yousexymf ปีที่แล้ว

      @nfpnone8248 Prince showed up for rehearsal and strummed along but everytime he got ready to do the solos the other guy just started playing note for note like Clapton and Prince let him do it. Prince told the producer let him do what he do, skip the middle solo and he'll do the outro solo and left.

    That guitar needed a cigarette after this. His feel for the guitar on this was amazing. Top 10 for sure. I don't even listen to Prince like that, but he was incredible. RIP.

    Put every guitarist on stage and I swear Jimi, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Prince will be the last three standing.... They all have that swag that nobody else can deliver.... Sure there are technical players and such, but they just demand so much respect. It's the swag for me.

    A number of years ago, I watched a documentary on the 40th anniversary of rock ‘n’ roll. I know it’s been over 50 now but at the time it was still only 40.
    There was at least two documentaries and I don’t remember the one I watched, but it is very interesting to see how early rock ‘n’ roll got started.
    In case you didn’t know, rock ‘n’ roll was pattern after the blues. Groups like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones greatly admired American blues singers.
    The Rolling Stones named their group after the muddy water song, like a Rolling Stone. Muddy Waters and the Rolling Stones have performed together as the Rolling Stones pay homage to their inspiration.

    George Harrison’s (this time for his solo career, the first was as part of the Beatles) induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, on stage for this, the final, song were:
    * Tom Petty - 3 Grammys and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; (playing twelve string acoustic)and from his band the Heartbreakers’ Scott Thurston (playing bass) and drummer Steve Ferrone.
    * Jeff Lynne - 1 Grammy and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (playing electric guitar with hat, beard and curly hair) and from his band ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) and Marc Mann (plays first solo) guitarist for ELO.
    * Stevie Winwood - 2 Grammys and member of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (playing organ) was part of The Spencer Davis Group, Blind Faith, Traffic and solo career and Jim Capaldi (from Traffic with Winwood) on percussion (tambourine).
    * Billy Preston - 2 Grammys and in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; (on piano) played keyboards for the Beatles and had a solo career.
    * Dhani Harrison (George’s son) - 1 Grammy; (playing six string acoustic), young man standing next to Tom Petty.
    * Prince - 7 Grammys (definitely one of the all time greats on guitar) who was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that year.
    Note that the Grammy mentions are wins, it doesn’t count the numerous nominations they received. Also Petty and Lynne were part of the Traveling Wilbury’s along with George Harrison, Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan. Harrison, Petty, Lynne, Winwood and Preston are also song writers and producers.

    I would say start your journey with Prince’s 90’s era…IMO his most open, prolific era…Check out his different versions of “Something in the Water”, “When I lay my Hands on You,” “ The Only Love There Is, Is The Love We Make”…Then check out Prince and 3rdEyegrl (his rock era )…You’re in for a “ride” my friend 💜🙌🏽✌🏽

    Prince was not considered one of the top 100 by Rolling Stone magazine, but he was inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame, which is more important than the magazine

    Prince always adds a little extra soul to rock n roll! FunkNRoll, as he called it. 😂 I think you would really enjoy the music video for the song A Million Days and his live performance at the 2005 NAACP awards. 💜 Start there and get back to me for more recommendations. Lol

    top 10? NO TOP 3 Prince Hendrix and stevie ray. Prince has done what NO other guitar player has done. He wrote produced and performed his first 4 albums on ALL the instruments. BY HIMSELF!!!! The vision is unmatched.

    Tito listen to Prince play and sing The Question Of You hes in a light colored shirt its an 11 minute video. And then there's the song The Ride with him wearing black and white... they seem to be taking Princes stuff off a lot but look for him in his 2013 3 day concert at Montreux Jazz Festival on the 3rd day he did the Rock stuff there's 3 songs that he did that moved me the most... Shes Always In My Hair, The Love We Make and The Breakdown... not sure if you can find it on u tube they seem to have removed it I think the full concert is still there though you can watch that or look for it on line at other sites you wont be sorry. :) Peace.
