Miss Thailand gave the best answer of this round. But in the final 3 Q&A round, Miss Nicaragua gave the best answer. So she is the winner. But it must be said that she had the advantage of using an interpreter. So she had more time to explain her answer than Miss Thailand and Miss Australia.

That's not right or fair. A Translator is necessary. It's easy to express one self in our native language so, without this possibility, English speaking countries would have an unfair advantage. Besides, some girls don't have the chance to learn english, you think they shouldn't participate?

In this round, I suspect the rankings as follows:
1. Thailand - hands down the best answer in the top 5.
2. Nicaragua
3. Australia - Her answer was ok, she got into the top 3 almost by default because she did not tried to turn the question around like Colombia or got really nervous like Puerto Rico.
4. Colombia - she turned the question around so she could draw attention that she's a mother.
5. Puerto Rico - content was fine...but the delivery was what sunk her. She was visibly nervous and she incorporated the contents of a well known response delivered by a previous MU winner. I thought maybe overall impression still will carry her through...but I guess not.
I don't care what they say Nicaragua is the real winner. She gave chance to her translator to bring her words into the English, her Charisma, smile and beauty are simply epic. And to all the haters, Nicaragua is the true and genuine queen on this edition of Miss Universe

i mean that’s what they are supposed to do, they can’t just expect the translator to remember and translate everything 😂 plus it’s an unfair disadvantage to the rest of the delegates because she has time to think of what else to say while the translator translate. At this stage she shouldn’t be using a translator. It shows that she’s not better than others who can speak English. English is universal language. Thailand deserves it more. In my opinion.

@@Peaceoutrelaxation Why should anyone not to use a translator?!?!? This is not English skill test competition. You have a very narrow mind. English is not the first language in every countries in this world. Nicaragua girl can speak english for general conversation but she is not proficient in english to be able to answer the hard question in deep details so she definitely need to answer in her mother tongue language. The question round in MU does not test your english proficiency but they focus in the answer whatever the language they speak to see their attitude.
You should understand because last year Thailand also has a representative who cannot speak english well and she would also need to use a translator if she was in top 5, right? Or even in 2016, why did Thailand use the translator to answer the question in Top 6 round then?

@@user-pu1gx4rj3k I don’t really care that previous miss Thailand needed a translator. I didn’t support her. I stil stand my ground. If you can’t communicate in English at this stage, you are not a complete package. There are others who can and also as beautiful and can answers questions as well.

It baffles me that they allow an English translator for a contestant that already SPEAKS English! They get an unfair advantage of thinking about their answers while the translator “translates”. 🙄

For me, 2018, 2019, 2022 are the best batch with the best answer ❤. 2022 is really a strong batch too, with impressive answers. 2021 only India and South Africa answers stood out, as much as I love their top 5.

Thailand had the best answer of the Top 5 entering the Top 3 , but was under too much pressure during the final 2 and stumbled.
In the end, overall impression counts. I suspect it was Venezuela who topped swimsuit and Puerto Rico who topped evening gown and no doubt Thailand won the top 5 Q&A. Nicaragua was the still best overall competitor and even if Thailand aced the final question, Sheyniss would still win.

She was really nervous, she wasn’t expecting that question. She speak both languages.
She understands English but maybe English is only her second language and Spanish being her native. It is okay to have a translation to make sure that you understand the question correctly

Her own decision but hearing a question in your own language makes it easier to understand because certain way of words in English that have more than one definition and even if it sounds obvious being nervous can make it harder to understand.

And the American judges, usa was in top 20 only and the Colombian judge yet Colombia wasn’t even in top 20 at all? Seriously though, 2 out of 7 judges are not enough to prove the bias anyway

One of the worst Q&A rounds in MU history next to MU 2020. None of them delivered except Nicaragua and Thailand (even though it seems rehearsed).
especially the Thailand's question that really fits her advocacy, I'm kinda expecting that they would include in the question about the wars that's happening in Israel and Gaza or Russia and Ukraine or the decline of the economy in every country, but srsly the question this year really is too dumb.
