      Your point is invalid clickbait is where you click a video expecting something and get what you did not expect so if you click on it expecting something and get what you expect then it is not clickbait.

    • @alyssaartifex450
      @alyssaartifex450 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@fenrirwolfkin5572 He may have just been pointing out the irony of how the crazy shit going on in the video is actually going on, as opposed to numerous other channels, that use over the top clickbait thumbnails & titles to either embellish or flat out lie about the actual content.

    So much force is being applied that the rig itself doesn't have enough mass to stay on the ground. The hammer isnt coming down but the floor is flying up lol.

    • @Rizz_Messiah
      @Rizz_Messiah 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Just remembered what this press reminded me of is the star wars seismic tank, but much smaller.

    • @microbuilder
      @microbuilder 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Easier to lift the whole rig than push the hammer down during the initial movement...that hammer must have some serious weight, impressive! Would be interesting to see the difference in crushing force between keeping the rig tied down vs free to lift off the ground.

    • @IrishSkruffles
      @IrishSkruffles 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Microbuilder - Theoretically it should be the same amount of force either way, but I would still like to see that :)

    • @userPrehistoricman
      @userPrehistoricman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think it would be slightly more with it tied down. The longer the hammer stays in the barrel, the faster it should be.

    • @sgartner
      @sgartner 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Some of the force is definitely being given up to lift the base and pallet against gravity, but I suspect it's a tiny amount given the overall power in the system. The system is closed as in the end it all hits the ground again, but as far as the actual energy the piston is applying to the anvil would be less.

      You can see the shadow of the lever on the slow motion and the hole things starts move after the lever is completely open so I think the current method is good enough. But I am working on quick release valve for one other project where I need faster valve

    • @espneindanke9172
      @espneindanke9172 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree that it's fast enough for the purpose - but on the slow-mo at 4:52 you can see the whole thing just starts to lift up itself, before the valve is completely open.
      But it's only like *some hundets of a second.* For me, a quiker "trigger mechanism" wouldn't be rather an real improvment, but more like *"perfection".* (I like perfection^^)

  • @AgentHeX_0007

    Wow, that thing is a Beastinator. Bolt it to the ground, it will hit harder. My guess is that as the piston launches it is lifting the whole thing off of the ground as the air expands behind the piston and the pistons friction in the bore has to be overcome, loosing energy, then as the piston hits its target the frame is up in the air so the piston hits the target and the whole frame downwards, again loosing energy.

    • @aritakalo8011
      @aritakalo8011 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Conservation of momentum. You throw that big part of the system down that fast, rest starts going up since the system was at rest in the beginning to stay at rest as sum something has to cancel the down momentum and it is the rest starting going up. Same principle rocket motors work on. Throw enough mass downward fast enough and the rest of the system starts going up. So kinda hydraulic cylinder powered rocket. Only the propellant (the piston) is caged so when it hits the deck system goes back to rest and then gravity pulls it down.

    _Can you out a blade on the Smashinator 5000000 and try to cut a deck of cards,_ or just see what happens cause I bet that it'll shake so much that the deck won't stay in place.

    • @HydraulicPressChannel
      @HydraulicPressChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will do this and I am quite sure that cards stay at their place since the piston is so fast that they don't have time to move :D

    I'm not sure if I sound like a maniac or a psychopath saying this, but can you do a hydraulic press (fastest or your normal one) against a pig head? I'm going to assume a pig head is near or equivalent to a head of a human. I just want to see what would happen to the head, the damages etc. So yeah, if you got some money to spare, buy a pig head and make a video of a hydraulic press crushing it, please. Thanks.

  • @draygoes
    @draygoes 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    So how much force is that?

    • @HydraulicPressChannel
      @HydraulicPressChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      The force that air applies is about 2 tons and then the impact force depends on distance where the piston stops but it's 28kg piston moving 20m/s so it's 5600 joules of energy

      Hydraulic Press Channel how does the impulse compare to the conventional press's maximum impulse?

    • @sgartner
      @sgartner 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I wonder how much energy is being lost pushing the whole machine up against gravity at the beginning of the cycle. Attaching a heavy weight to the bottom or attaching the bottom to the ground solidly would retain that energy and would also make the machine movement less of an issue for videos.

    • @draygoes
      @draygoes 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Scott Gartner: Thats a fantastic idea! You want ALL of the energy to travel into the target, not just some of it.
