    You guys are so lovely😊- I am sitting next my forever furry friend rescued while I was living in BG - she was a nervous bag of bones when she appeared outside my house - and she has turned into the most wonderfully loving best friend - I wouldn’t be without her! Am binge-watching your videos, getting my BG fix - looking forward to the VT xmas market episode, even though Im a few weeks late🎄😂🤗

    Hello! I really love watching your channel. You guys are so genuine and you always keep it real, showing the good and the bad. I, for one, appreciate this more than you can imagine. I plan to move to Bulgaria soon myself so seeing your unfiltered experiences as new transplants is very helpful. I normally don't comment on TH-cam because I end up writing a book, but I thought I would give my two cents to maybe help Laura feel better about the old Jeep.
    I have a good bit of experience with older Jeeps like yours and they are very much diehard. Your Grand Cherokee, the WJ platform, is one of the last Cherokees that was actually good at being a durable all-terrain vehicle. The engine is stout and reliable, and the running gear is exceptionally strong. The only weak point is the transmission. Not that they are bad, but the transmission has a shorter life than the rest of the vehicle, but still usually over 100,000 miles. Yours likely had its transmission rebuilt once already. But don't worry, if it starts to go, you will feel it start to slip at least a year before it gets to the point of leaving you stranded. And even then, it will start doing very painful sounding things at the end, letting you know full well what it needs in advance of actually going out.
    On the point of being stranded in your Jeep vs a newer car, I would absolutely take the Jeep over a little 5 year old shoebox car. Sure, the shoebox might need less maintenance and not beep at you, but it's not going to be able to push through un-plowed snowy dirt roads. If you happen to be out as a heavy snowstorm rolls in dumping a ton of snow on the road, you'll have no worries that the Jeep will get you home. Or, if one of your little ones is sick during a blizzard and needs to go to the hospital, the Jeep will get you there. I would definitely feel safer in a vehicle like that, knowing that it will keep going when the going gets tough. That being said, with any older vehicle and being out in the country side, I would keep a box in the back with some extra supplies, like a few liters of cheap oil, a couple gallons of water, a roll of duct tape, tire plugs and an air pump, basic tool kit, you know, the usual stuff. Lastly, very important, if the engine temperature gauge and oil pressure gauge don't work (correctly), get someone to install accurate aftermarket gauges down where the ashtray is (don't bother trying to fix the originals if they're broken). Those two are important to keep an eye on with that engine and can give you forewarning if somethings not right. Happy trails!

      You have no idea how much we appreciate this comment. We have broken down in our van before (as you may have seen in previous videos), so it's a bit scarier getting used to a car over a home on wheels 😅 Thank you for the advice. I so understand how not feeling safe in a car feels. Especially with small children and freezing temperatures, it's primal. Your man keeps coming through for you which is great to see, first with explaining and then with fixing and uplevelling the car. I suggest you have an emergency kit in the vehicle, in case you need it. With emergency foil blankets, candles, etc. Great advice about the rugs on the floors and walls and the plastic on the windows. I would suggest using any plastic or materials that would cover the windows for now, on both sides of the panes (3 ply) that creates a vacuum if taped properly and makes such a difference. Even materials, bales of straw up against the outside of the house can help. Every bit helps.

      I appreciate your advice, but it's just not that simple. Getting him in the car could be dangerous, because he isn't coming willingly. We are going to try and keep feeding him and gaining his trust, but we don't want to risk a dog bite, or bringing home an aggressive dog that could hurt the kids. It's just not straightforward unfortunately 😔

    • @victoriabezfamilii965
      @victoriabezfamilii965 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@the_phoenixproject if the dog didn't show aggressive behaviour at first encounter he is not aggressive, but of cause you don't know if he has traumas and what could trigger him to attack, cars could be one of those things, but at the same time when at warm nice place he could be more relaxed. if you dont have much experience with dogs better not to risk. adult stray dogs here often need a lot of patience and time, and you already have a lot on your plate..... we rescued a dog three years ago and we still can't take her for a walk on a lead. after we put the collar on she was depressed and didn't eat for two days. when we try to put a lead on her she freezes and the only way to move her is to carry her around. i assumed she had been dragged with a rope around her neck. so eventually we left her alone, happy in her big private garden. she loves people but communicates strictly at her terms, which sometimes makes it difficult to take her to the vet or to check her for ticks or apply meds.

    Winter there looks so beautiful but also tough. Hope you guys get to go to the Xmas market and to travel around. Ah damn... I practically do not wanna ~talk about it. Also sorry to intrude your daily life once again... See... the thing is when it comes to ~old cars with LPG conversion... I don`t wanna talk about it. But I will :( :P. When it comes to it I kind of feel like your wife during the faulty LPG gauge trip. First my LPG gas storage tank was too old to re register for it to go trough the early technical inspection properly. Also my gas vaporizer (am not sure bout the actual English naming, but it`s the direct from BG translation) was faulty on top of an injector which due to age was jammed on "always open" a.k.a. was consistently squirting gas in the cylinder messing up "the rhythm of the entire engine". After I had (first in order of appearance) my faulty gas vaporizer (something about it`s membrane) fixed (cheaper than replaced fortunately) and the faulty injector (those are costly) and made sure my LPG system runs once again... I also had the old Storage Tank replaced with one with proper documentation that could be certified for the annual check up. Than... my cooling system started leaking and what happens than is that Warm coolant from the engine does not circulate trough the Gas Vaporizer. When that happens, because of the "mechanics" of it all... a.k.a. ... High Pressurized ~liquid propane butane ~flows from the tank to the vaporizer and there it rapidly expands to a gas state in before it is distributed to the injectors. But that process is severely temperature deriving so if there is no consistent flow of warmed engine cooler liquid trough the Vaporizer ~it freezes, a.k.a. it chokes itself and there is no vaporized gas flow to the injectors and thus no fuel goes into the cylinders and car does not run. I have literally no idea how it goes on a jeep, but probably the same. So idk what clutch you were talking about (probably not the actual vehicle one, because than the car itself would have been stationary), but from what I understand, some clutch that controls the cooling fan of the radiator It was so made that it`s always on since start of the car ~I assume, and with Winter Temperatures and Cooling fan running on... well it`s good for the engine since it gets to be ~extra cool... but I am assuming the Cooling Liquid running trough the Gas Vaporizer weren`t warm enough to negate both the external winter temperature and the effect of the liquid gas expanding, thus it froze, choked and the annoying beep. Old Cars and LPG conversions... during the winter it`s almost always too cold for them to run short distances... During the Summer is too hot for proper LPG oxidation + Gas actually burns more hot than gasoline and kind of charcoals the valves, not to mention how fast it overheats if faulty cooling system... (which when it`s old, the moment one leak is fixed the pressure restored in the system pops out of another weak spot. I swear I don`t wanna have a cooling system problems, or preferably any car problems for the rest of my life... but when I can only afford and insist on using 30 year old car ~with LPG conversion...) It`s all and all quite unnatural thing for the automobile and if it is not modern and expensive top tier work it usually causes more problems than solutions... but the lucrative prize of Gas versus Gasoline (or Petrol as you call it) for long trips and even hanging on the traffic lights in town. I mean when I idle in a jam on gasoline feels like super w8st, when I idle on gasoline, with the music on... if I am not in a hurry... feels as a regular town trip in a car ~which most situations tops other methods of transpiration.
