Great reaction. IDZ (ee-jee-meh dah-meh zet-taee ... you can hear them saying it several times during the song) is right up among my own favourite songs - and it was the second song they ever played live, so one of the earliest things they did ... the lyrics are deep and meaningful (something they were accused of never having by the people who called them "bubblegum pop"). It dates back to long before the Kami Band became a thing. You will never see or hear the Kami Band in official videos unless they were filmed at live concerts and only the ones specifically titles "live" will have the live audio. The guys in the skeleton suits in the MV were known as Babybones - you may see them in some early concerts (they were there for show, they didn't actually play the instruments). Yes of course Yui and Moa were playing the guitars in the video😇🤫 ... every bit as much as Babybones were playing theirs.🦴🎸🎸🦴☠🤘 The hairy guy in the MV was representing the spirit of metal. He was being bullied, having his hair cut and guitar smashed by the mainstream pop and hip hop guys (as was pretty much the case figuratively in Japan around that time) until he saw the "Stand Up Metal" message painted on the rock ... and was revealed as a Babybone guitarist at the end.☠🎸 They use IDZ mainly for encores now - they played it on the last date of the US tour and again on the last date of the European tour last year.🤘🦊 You really do need to do another reaction, but to a live version. Any live will do - there are so many good early performances of IDZ, the most famous being at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK, their first time in the UK and their first major event outside of Japan with over 50k potentially hostile UK metalheads to impress.
Very cool!!! Moa plays, but not at that level (as far as I know), Yui doesn't. It was scenographic, but well done. They used these guitars in a performance on stage with Rob Halford, playing (pretending to play) on the song "Breaking The Law". Enjoy Babymetal! 🤘🦊🤘

Great reaction! This is an absolute classic early Babymetal song! *Title:* "ee-jee-may, dah-may, ze-tai" - Bullying, No, Never/Forever. Everyone calls the song IDZ for short. *Summary of Lyrics:* The ones who were hurt were not just me, but those that hurt me and those that looked on pretending not to notice. But say good bye to myself of yesterday, let your pain out, I'll protect you, BULLYING, NO, NEVER! I definitely suggest you look up the lyrics, very deep and meaningful song! *Guitars:* No, the girls were not actually playing. Moa has taken guitar lessons but she's admitted that she is not practicing regularly. *Theme of MV:* Remember, Babymetal's lore at that time was infiltrating the "evil" Idol industry who "oppresses" metal to revitalize metal. So, in the video, the metalhead was getting beat up by the "idol industry" that ruined his guitars, and Babymetal is standing up for him and taking him in. *Live:* You HAVE to check out the Sonisphere UK 2014 live version!! Not only was it an amazing live festival performance day-time, it is also the very first major international stage appearance by Babymetal in the west. They proceeded to win over 50K+ confused UK metal heads who has never heard of them before, which proceeded to chant "WE WANT MORE!!" when the gals wrapped up their 5-song set. Headliners for this show were Iron Maiden and Metallica and 1 other band that I have forgotten. Cheers! 🤘🦊
_Kitsune tobe!_ 🦊🤘🙅♂️ Welcome back to the Foxhole. If you got hard time pronouncing this title song you can just call it IDZ for short. It means "No More Bullying Forever" and it's the best anti-bullying song ever. This was released officially early 2013, but it was previously performed live the year prior to this MV, technically is their second song in chronological order but apparently it was too much speed metal and without so much blending with the kawaii metal they were trying to show, so probably that's the reason they released Doki Doki Morning or Iine! instead. The official MV got baby-bones air playing the instruments, and the beard man is representing the heavy metal music that was bullied by the mainstream music, and of course our three heroines come to rescue. The live version at Sonisphere Festival 2014 is also known as the miracle of Sonisphere and is a turning point in their career they will never forget, after that they consider UK their second home, make sure to check that out. Btw japanese fans jumping with the "X" arms when they sing "Ijime Dame!" and later "Kitsune tobe!" that's another tribute to X Japan when fans did the same at X live concerts. They played this song during this recent World Tour 2023 as an ender on certain special moment when finishing the Babyklok Tour in Los Angeles and more later in Madrid closing the Europe & UK Tour adding one more song to the setlist. You got left two or three more versions at least, IDZ Nemesis Version (with former Arch Enemy guitarist), the one at Budokan 2021 without YuiMetal but with the same energy, and Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 with both Kami Band on stage and all three avengers in an epic performance. The guy in the MV got his own YT channel, his name is Kyle Patrick Gibson and he made a video talking about this participation, there's also a commentary vid made by the girls remembering this guy and how nice he was with them when talking, they were impressed with his japanese skills. And no, the girls don't play instruments here, although MoaMetal used to take guitar lessons when being young and you can also see her a couple of times performing with a guitar. Next suggestion to meet a SuMetal solo: - Akatsuki live at Budokan 2014. - Rondo Of Nightmare with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014. Thanks for sharing this and hope to see you next time. Kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🚫 Those burned guitars were signed by Su, Yui & Moa, mounted on stands and given to contest winners. They're among the most prized BABYMETAL collectible items ever made, since there are only a handful of them. 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' was one of the first songs they created. It was ready to go, but they decided to record 'Doki Doki ☆ Morning' first since this one was closer to a conventional Metal song. They really wanted to push the genre boundries, even from the very beginning. There is an alternate "Nemesis" version of this song, found on limited editions of the single. It features guitars recorded by former Arch Enemy guitarist Christopher Amott.

It's more like "ee-jee-meh, dah-meh, zet-tai" (according to chatgpt) which means literally "absolutely no bullying" or "no more bullying forever" as they officially translated. And it's obviously an anti-bullying song. The song exposes not only the bullies but also those who witness the situation and look to the other side. It was just their second song according to the live performances (premiered live in July 2011) although it was released way later (January 2013) probably because it was straight power metal and they didn't want to get pigeonholed in one genre. So, it was probably recorded in 2011 and that's the reason why Su-metal sounds so young here. I personally find this music video super funny because they depict the metal genre being "bullied" by the "evil" pop idol industry. So, the Fox God sent three metal spirits as undercover idols to fight them and save the genre (and that's actually BABYMETAL's origins lore). Which is hilarious if you think about it. 🤘🦊
Nice reaction :) I"m glad that you're doing the studio versions first. I think it'll give you more of an appreciation of the band when you watch them pull it off live
The recommendations for Sonisphere is cos that was the show that changed things for them. This song is about anti bullying and as a new act at their 1st major overseas festival, they were not being taken seriously and were treated like some kinda novelty gimmick. They were told their audio would be cut if they overran the 30 mins given to them. There were even threats that things would be thrown at them. But they went out, did their set, and changed the world. ❤
No, they're not playing the guitars, BUT, Moa does play the guitar. You can see her playing the acoustic guitar on their live video of their song "Shine".
The only time Yui and Moa played guitar live was at the 2016 APMA appearance with special guest Rob Halford on the Judas Priest song Breakin' the Law. Except the opening riff Yui, a very rudimentary novice player, was just strumming along with the main chords. Moa, an intermediate player, was doing a bit more. I used to play a bit of classical guitar and it is quite obvious they are just faking in this MV.
@@IAMisLove You haven't reacted to a documentary yet. Sonicsphere 2013 was a very important show for the Girls. You will catch lots of grief. BabyMetal is a performance band so certain performances are more important than others, it is not just about the song.
The girls don't play in this, they did a similar thing when performing Breaking the Law with Rod Halford (Judas Priest) with 2 matching red flying V's and again pulled it off with there usually cute smiles but Moa can play and has played acoustic live on Shine on one occasion.. If you think that when they did these early vids they were still borrowing costumes off friends and family as the were virtually unfunded in the early days the quality really is amazing.
It was all stunt. Moa-metal can play and dose in a few rare occasion Yui-metal can only do basic guitar the band behind them was also a stunt band called "babybones" anytime you see them in full skeleton they are babybones and were actors there first real band was the kami band but once they started going overseas often they hired session musicians who could play the music the song is about no bullying
Sorry Lads Yui & Moa were just having fun! I wish their Late Great Guitarist Mikio Fujioka (AKA: KOGAMI) would've taught the Girls to really play guitar. Of course there probably wasn't much time to do that, since the Kami Band were doing sessions with other artists, as well as their own jazz group called the Kari band.
