- Hello everybody, and welcome back to Preserved Bus Adventures!
It's been a little while since we last did a video on the Volvo B7RLE, we did aim to do one a bit sooner, but as you'll see it's not for want of trying! But anyway at last the stars have aligned and we're able to take the bus out for another run.
We're off to Chorley today, a nice distance to blow the cobwebs off, as well as pick up some tools to tinker about with a few bits and bobs. The assault screen has been fixed now so it fully opens (and stays open), as well as replacing some of the old cushions with brand new (ish) ones. It's been an absolutely great day, and I hope you all enjoy coming along for the ride!

@@damian-transport-enthusiast - He bought an ex-service bus from First Halifax. You can get a half decent bus like this from around £6000, so it's not about being rich. Just choices. The running, storage and maintenance of the bus is far more than the price you pay to buy it.

The Eclipse is one of the best buses Volvo have produced inn my opinion. Absolute workhorses. Well done Joe!

Not luck, just dedication, sacrifice, research and a lot of effort. This bus will have cost less than a 6 year old Ford Fiesta. It's sacrificing all the money and time to maintain and store it that stings a bit.
OMSI 2 getting more and more realistic
Great video! I own my own bus under preservation here in Australia, a Custom Coaches Mk88 MB O405 (with a W3E110 gearbox!). It's definitely a great hobby, a very expensive one at that.

You could have got a bendy bus around that corner with those cars sitting there.
Wide-angled lens makes everything look spaced out and 'wide'. I know that corner and it's very tight in reality.
That's quite stupid of the council to have a parking space in a spot that restricts the movement of large vehicles, right next to a garage full of large vehicles.
The spaces have probably been there for a lot longer than the transport trust, but yeah it is still stupid
It's a shame they can't relocate the parking spaces elsewhere, but such is life I suppose!

We have just lost our Stagecoach 05 plate B7RLE'S 21212 and 21213 they are believed to be for disposal according to the fleet movements. They have been replaced with more B7RLE'S over from Manchester way. A few years ago a majority of the local fleet were B7'S.
Nice buses to ride on. However, i much prefer the Atlanteen and Fleetline.
When is the next town and district open day, didn’t realise you was in great harwood, I’m only in Oswaldtwistle. Wouldn’t mind coming to see the buses! 😀
Got to say that the Volvos are nice drives, I enjoyed them. My favourite bus to drive though is the B10bs.

Really hope we get to see more of the on going work like at the End where you vlogged the Seats getting changed and Maybe a Video going into some of the costs involved i.e Insurance, Tax, Purchase Etc. Enoying the real life bus content, have you ever thought about working for a bus company, I've been a bus driver for nearly 6 years now, must be fun to drive your own bus and not have to pick passengers up😜

I found you through City Bus Manager, and have found I really enjoy these videos. I must admit, I didn't know bus preservation and bus rallies were a thing! I'm definitely learning a lot on your channel. I think it could be really cool if you had a 360 camera on the bus so we could look around while you drive, it'll be like we're really there with you as you bring us around.

I’m training in 66762, drives like a rocket.
Used to drive that in York, great bus.
Loved driving these when i worked out of Halifax, however worst one i had was 66781 with its dodgy breaks and oversensitive GreenRoad
I never really cared for 66780 when I used to travel on it, but having said that it's a beautiful machine underneath! :D

is this your bus ? you look younger than me and have got a bus how dd u do it ? advice please ? im a full licence holder so i can carry passengers on buses aswell and came off driving them last year for reasons that wont stop me driving them again
If i’m right in thinking you can drive a 30+ year old bus on a car license and i saw for £5k an ex hong kong alexander bodies leyland olympian the temptation to get that and convert it into a campervan was seriously tempting

I think you should replace those white & yellow license plates with black plates in order to make the vehicle look older than it actually is to those not in the know.
I would also recomend that you try driving this down some really narrow roads to test your skills on driving this bus, could end up being a real challange but don't go down a byway...
What? It's a 2000s bus. Black plates belong on 50s and 60s buses. That would look really odd.

I'm not allowed to take it to bus rallies with the current livery, this was more just an update on the progress. The final aim is to get it painted in First Barbie :) As for the Metrobus, I'm not sure to be honest with you.

No operators license/CPC required but I do hold a full PCV license. As they’re not fare paying passengers a PCV license is sufficient

What happened to the B10BLE
As a bus driver for blackpool transport, not going to lie mate but we have routes that use same size buses that have turns as bad if not worse than that. It was definitely doable pal.
Wide-angled lens. I know the location very well and in reality it doesn't look anything like it did in the video. The wide-angled lens distorts everything, for example it also makes 30mph look like 50mph on camera.

Hi Aotearoa936! With the Eclipse having so many electrical systems on board even when the isolator is on, it still drains a small amount of power. We get round this now by disconnecting the batteries when we're leaving the site to avoid them going flat :)

Nobody’s going to take it away if its not used, using it just gives a chance for everything to move and keep working.
