She was 22 here and giving off such maturity. Can you imagine a 22 year old actor talking like this today?

This was filmed by Bernard Braden not in the 1970s but in 1968 shortly after the release of the film Up the Junction
Maureen always was, and still is very attractive and warm. She's got funnier as she's got older and more confident, having proven her talent as an actress and comedienne. She can play the stereotype Jewish woman but has much more besides.
She was amazing as Elle in Oklahoma.
I'm here from "File it Under Fear" Thriller's episode. She plays Liza, I'm happy she is still alive now.
Beautiful smile, a voice which is making me go bloody silly, shiny eyes and perfect arched brows, a hairdo which makes me recall a bygone era, and a softness which belies the sheer balls she has to say what she thinks, even though she's often wrong.
The real beauty of this woman lies in the fact she mentions her late husband Jack at least once every time she is interviewed.
(This interview was taped before she married, and Mr Rosenthal was unaware of how lucky he would be to one day meet her).
I've always thought she was a stunner when she was young - not conventionally beautiful, but still beautiful to me. Have you seen her in The Sweeney episode Selected Target? She's great - not that many lines, but she does some lovely reaction acting with Dennis Waterman, so although it's really his scene you can't help but watch her.
She was also in Regan, from Armchair Cinema, which was in effect the pilot episode of The Sweeney, as Jack Regan's girlfriend. When she tells him it's over as her husband's come back you really feel his sense of loss, as you just know she'd be a catch.
And, of course, she's gorgeous in both.

She has got a very good accent for a Hull person.
That's pure RP - received pronunciation - you hear. Drama school must have masqued her Hull accent. As of today, 2023, her voice has deepened a little, and curiously, she's reintroduced a hint of Hull in her voice-to-camera when she's being interviewed as Dame Maureen, a doyenne-in-the-making of the bevvy of British actresses...
