If they can make a profit off of $65 for a case, imagine how much you're being ripped off by others that sell it for $100+.

Montech's Customer Service is actually very good; based on the one time I've had to contact them. A few years ago I purchased the Montech X1 case, in white, for my kid; which he picked out. Early last month, June 2023, I was taking the glass side panel off and it slipped from my hand and fell distance of the PSU shroud to the top of my desk, 4-1/4", and shattered. I got on Montech's website and put in a request to purchase a replacement glass panel. They replied to me within an hour asking for my shipping info, the serial number (sticker on the back of the case), and my order number. I gave them the order number I had from NewEgg and the date of purchase. Within a few days they sent me an email with one word, "Processed". Within a week I received a new glass side panel. Didn't pay for it. I asked how much I owed them, and they told me I owe nothing since that case is old and discontinued. For me Montech went from a brand I would overlook to a brand I would highly consider/recommend to people. You should do a review on their fans; especially the reverse fans they have.

I was actually surprised how much Montech offered for their price. I bought the Sky Two and it came with 4 aRGB ring fans (2 reversed) and the case looked so good on my wife's white/pink build. I had an issue where I kinked the USB C header cable and had an issue with their fan controller blowing full speed all the time and they sent me the replacement parts in 3 days without needing me to send anything in for RMA. Would definitely use them again on my next build.

I've used a couple of their products over the past couple years, I've never been disappointed for the price. • @animalyze7120
      @animalyze7120 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

All case manufacturers have the stripped screw syndrome. You actually have to run the screw backwards a bit till it "Drops" then begin tightening. Corsair, NZXT, Antec, Lian Li you name it they all have that issue, especially the rear slots for GPU's and such. I learned 30+ years ago to begin by backing them onto the holes first then tighten.

  • @Mr.Unacceptable
    @Mr.Unacceptable ปีที่แล้ว +43

If you get the correct size rubber fuel line for the hole. You can slice it lengthways and push it onto the metal chassis to make your own very sturdy gromits. It's an old mechanics trick for running wires through firewalls. The smaller the hole the smaller the tube you need. You can also use the clear fish tank tubing. The thicker the sidewall the better it holds in place. A little rubber cement makes it stay in place.

It's not that I think I'll ever need three radiators, but just having the option to put one radiator in three different places means I'll never have to compromise on radiator placement and play the "where's the air bubble in my loop" game.

I'm getting Lian Li Lancool 216 vibes... It could be that I just bought one but they are very similar. One thing I like about the Lian Li over the Montech though is the PSU area has a mesh inlet on the same side of the case as the glass so if you do mount fans above the PSU they have more area for intake. Aside from that, there doesn't seem to be significant differences in overall layout.

Having the ports and buttons on the far side makes more sense to me. That way anything plugged in is more likely to be on the "wall" side and less likely to get bumped risking damage to the ports. Also less likely to accidentally push a button.

I love this case! I just got it today. It has all the modern amenities. It supports USB 3.x as well as USB-C. It has a full basement cover with enough holes for all your cables, a transparent (glass? it seems heavy) side panel, both panels have captive screws. Plus it has NO sharp edges like most cheap cases tend to have.
I had been using an old beige case from the 90's that had drive bays with the PSU mounted at the top. I'm using a mATX mobo, Ryzen 7 3700X, and a 2070 super. Temps were always hot when using the computer in this old case, I even had the side off with a box fan blowing into it just to keep the CPU and GPU cool. Now in this new Montech case, it's running 5'c cooler than it was before and I have both side panels on. EXELENT value, I may get another one for my other PC.

I think a good analogy for the "air gap" you mentioned in 9:20 is to imagine that the small area between the filter and the fans is like a very shallow funnel.
If the fans are right against the mesh, there's no "funnel" and it's only using the area of the filter thats the size of the fans. If they're a bit spaced out then it's like the whole mesh acting as the "top of the funnel" that lets air in.

I left a honest review talking about how for the price of $50 it was a decent product, but mine had some incorrect stand off placement along with a couple stand offs being tapped at an angle so about 2/3 of the standoffs were not useable. Within a day of the review i was emailed saying my full purchase was refunded, and offered a replacement case on top of that.
I stuck with the first case as i had already built and given the pc to my father, but for a company to reach out over my "its ight" review and go above and beyond without request (and without asking for a better/new/different review), was a nice change of pace.

The other things - the filter, the buttons on the wrong side . . . come on Jay ;) - 65 bucks, type-C, 3x140 top, 4090 with rad in front and mAtx sized. 5:31 u connect that to ur RGB hub, some hubs have 2pin LED headers that u connect these to. Then you can control those hubs by clicking that LED button on ur case, but not all hubs have that 2pin LED header, the ones that do can and should and will be controlled by that LED button.

Montech has become my go to case for customer builds unless they are after something specific. You cannot beat their price to value added, that and the fact that are cheap to buy but next level in quality to similar price points. The fans unlike Apevia cases actually perform well and have better "Heft" to them meaning they even feel higher quality. I've done 8 builds in Montech cases including the Sky series and have not a single complaint. I bought 2 Apevia cases and both arrived dented and 1 had to be pounded out just to get the PSU to screw in and sit properly, my money goes to Montech now when it comes to customers on tight budgets and want a good quality performer for a case, though I have built 3 3K machines and those customers asked for the Montech case. Can't wait to see what they come up with next. Great review Jay!

Bought this Montech case for my secondary computer. Love it except for that the LED button is hardwired to the reset cable. So now I can reset it with either button.

Dude I got a Montech case 3 years ago and it's great for the price. In fact after I got it I commented about it on a video from either your channel or Gamers Nexus cause nobody seemed to be talking about Montech back then.

Im so glad budget cases have ditched acrylic windows. Kinda crazy how much youre getting for $65; tempered glass, basic cable route grommets, replaceable PCI covers, preinstalled fans, fast and plentiful "front" i/o

I went from a Fractal Design Define S to a Montech Air X, the RGB is good quality and the fan/RGB controller is great. It's not what you'd call robust compared to the fractal, but I love it and it's the absolute smallest case I could buy to get my XFX triple fan GPU to fit in. They're great cases packed with usable features for the price.
Edit: This case is actually an improvement to the Air X! Mine doesn't have captive screws anywhere and the filters aren't quite as nice to remove. Cool that they're improving their products!

Bought a $45 Montech mid-tower at Microcenter last week w/ the 5600X3D bundle. Feels a little flimsy and all the fans included were Molex that need to be replaced eventually, but other than that, I really like it, especially for the price.

I like the fact that the IO is on the back side. That way you dont see the cables that come out of it.
I really hate looking at the IO cables through the glass in cases where its in the front.

Considering the price difference, the Max seems like a no-brainer of an upgrade option. It's just a shame that Montech don't seem to be available in the UK because I would like to buy one of these.

Length of the card vs the case is perfect to make some brackets to hold the card at the front.

Jay!!! I've been following you forever!!! For all of us new builders/noobs out here, can you give an in depth tutorial on connecting fans/rgb to hubs and motherboards?? This would be of so much help for some people on a budget without frying anything. Including what you can and can't do with 5v and 12v connections.

Thanks to Jay these will be $80 - $85 and $95 - $100 by the end of summer, A price increase do to popularity and demand much like the Vetroo V5 lol. I remember I bought my V5 at $20 with the $5 cupon and now is $35 but I think I seen it as high as $45.

I purchased one of these, great case. Only issue I couldn’t figure out is how to attach bottom fans. You need really long screws to go through the fans and screw into the mountains holes. I didn’t see any supplied with the case

At 1:55, that's not an offset 120 fan mount. That would require two sets of mounting slots on each side. That is only for 120 or 140mm fans, not for offset mounting. That would've been a great addition, though.

ive only ever built in a couple montech cases, but they are always really nice and look good too. Easy to work in as well. Too many people get caught up with the "big brand" names and some of these lesser known/smaller companies makes some really good stuff for good prices.

Ordered the white Max. I currently have a NZXT H510 and it worked fine (even with the very poor air inlets) for a RTX2070. Upgraded to a RTX3080 and had to remove the glass panel to get enough air.

All they need are some modular hard drive cages for home servers and you are gonna be aces. Appreciate the lower cost content, not every machine in the house will be a show build, some times you just need a relatively cost effective box to chuck a few things into

Very comparable to the 4000D ARGB case that goes for $129.95 on Amazon. I bought the white 4000D w/no fans and then bought 6 MF100 Halo fans for around $125+ which comes to $220+. This White Max would have saved me a ton. Of course the quality of the White Max fans and controller are up for grabs, so maybe I didn't screw up after all.

that front I/O is in a GREAT spot. Harder to accidently hit a button or something thats plugged in, AND it allows for MUCH BETTER cable management. Most cases make you run those cables for the front i/o through some weird ways

I grabbed a white montech X3 mesh when I upgraded my streaming PC. In the sub $80 price range, coming with 6 fans, 3x140mm and 3x120mm, (not controllable, but still RGB fans) is huge. Plus it's just a good looking, sturdy case, that's easy to build in.

I went with a Jonsbo D41 mesh version for $65, it's a great case and has a uniqe PSU installation, it doesn't come with any fans though. It can come with a display at the top front, which is probably the biggest display you can get at the $120 point.
