I know many will disagree with me... so what do you think someone SHOULD be making in roofing sales?
I always say I want guys that will last a long time in the business 5+ years. And improve each year. I think 75k is a good starting point.
And gals*
I think it should be a case by case basis based off the individual’s numbers. If I’m knocking and getting 7 to 10 deals a week and the average in the company is 2 to 5 a week maybe I’m wrong for thinking this way I think I definitely feel it should be based of how much work you put into it. The percentage should go up based off performance.
100k should always be the goal each year
@@TheRoofStrategist 75-90k depending on your hustle and close ability you could touch 6 but realistically 80k
I start my job in roofing sales next week. Transitioning from HVAC sales, did that for 5 years, did very well. I wanted something different, so excited to start! Thanks for this video!
ROCK ON! Welcome to the industry and the channel. Hope you crush it!
How’s it going now?
How’s it going now?
I want an update lol
After the law in Texas from 2019, the deductible eaters who were fighting their way to the bottom have mostly left and prices have gone up. I did a 25 square in 2016 for under $8 thousand. This year I'll be replacing the same roof for $20 thousand.
Start my training march 6th with an 8% commission I'm 17 with lots of experience for my age and can't wait
I got roofing interview tomorrow and can’t wait!!. 75k would awesome for me I would take some that margin and finish up my flight school to get my pilot license and really push me towards the career . This video helped so much thank so much and take care
Super glad to hear it!! Welcome to the industry and the channel. I love your why. Go chase your dream my dude!
If you want 75k aim for 175k
My commission is 15%. If you do roofing sales.. go commission only.. that’s with any sales really .. unless you have a high base pay.
I'm starting with a roofing company in Houston in one week. My goal for my first year is 100k which feels like a lofty goal but I know it can be done. That's about what the average salesperson makes with this company, but some have even made upwards of 300k which is crazy money especially here in Texas where the cost of living is less. I'm extremely motivated and hungry for success, plus I have some sales experience already in the automotive industry so I think that will help.
Congrats and welcome! I'll be rooting for you!
Going one year strong! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yeaaaa buddy!
What’s better a company that provides appointments are companies that don’t?
It isn't easier for a W2 employee to purchase a home compared to 1099. They both require two years of stable employment history in the same line of work. The only difference is 1099's are required to show tax returns to prove income whereas W2's use their paystubs instead. However, even though they're W2, Lenders will still request their tax history for the prior 2 years to confirm their W2 pay isn't fraudulent.
This isn’t true. It’s dramatically easier to qualify as a W2 employee. If you have less than two years 1099 then most lenders won’t qualify you at all. W2 they will just take your average your last two years even if it’s different positions
@@Alwayslate-gv9vwyeah. You dont even have to be at the same job for a consistent 2 years as a w2
Cradle to grave 💪🏻.
Do you know of any companies that do cradle to grave, I’m a project manager looking into this so managing a project is no issue
Is this a goal of a sale a week during storm or out of storm?
I think that's bare bones minimum for either. If you are getting inbound leads, I'd sure hope you'd do more than that.
Great video!
Appreciate ya Kaleb!
Hey Adam. Thanks so much for everything. Can you talk about the importance of date of loss? With insurance. As a tool. And anything else you can add to it. Hopefully that makes sense
Date of loss can be one of the most important parts of this industry. You have to cross check specific storm events with the type and size of damage your finding. File a claim on a date that no storms were observed and your claim could easily be denied.
@@justinmerritt388 yea I'd like to know more about how to find the dates and properly use them. And potentially how to leverage them in the sales process
Happy to help. First, watch this video on WHY insurance covers roofs: th-cam.com/video/QRVLx-tJ_Xc/w-d-xo.html
Then this video on overcoming "I want to wait to do my roof" (you'll see how date of loss comes in) th-cam.com/video/nYOfIb1TDcE/w-d-xo.html
And this video to learn how to make end of season sales: th-cam.com/video/xs3t0iXnmRo/w-d-xo.html
Hope this helps!
Dont this depend on what your commission is also. We get 5% per roof. Is 150k-300k still do-able?
Just do the math. What does the average roof cost on a sale you would do? Now times that by 0.05 and thats your commission. Divide that by 150,0000 or whatever number you want to make and that is how many roofs you need to sell to do that. Let's say the average roof is 15k - at 5% of revenue thats a commission of $750 - you would have to sell 200 roofs to make that mark.Or better yet, 17 a month...basically one every other day...Not very doable at 5% of revenue if you ask me.
What commission should a roofing canvasser be paid?
I’m curious what’s the commission usually?
Great question. Watch this video for my answer :) th-cam.com/video/L0O8rXcIgc8/w-d-xo.html
Is this about sales commission income 🤔? 75 seems low for the jefe.
Confirmed that this video was about sales rep commissions :)
Im _this_ close to going into roofing sales, a week from giving my 2 weeks where im working, but im so unbelievably nervous. The pay sounds good, but sales anything has always been associated with scams. Im scared ill make even less money despite what they told me. 1 sale is supposed to give me more than what i made in a week, but what if thats just a lie? What if its too hard to sell to people in my area? I also heard 1 sale a week is bare minimum, but ive never sold anyone on anything. What if everyone is put off by me and doesnt buy?
Don’t do it
@@jamesfreres5611 i don't think im going to. The idea of having to subsist on $7.25/hr if I don't make any sales. The stress is going to make me go postal.
@@alastor8091 How did you come out? Ya or nah on roofing?
@@WrecksToWrenchs I backed out last second. Found abetter paying job than the one I was at, but sales scare me. I dont handle new people well, and having that be an every day thing would murder me.
No company truck, your own ladders, own benefits? You are talking $20 k to enter b/c I don' t do vehicle or equipment on credit.
Don’t need a truck, ladders aren’t that expensive and benefits are the higher commission your money is your money. Trucks help tho. But you do 201k or hell do 101k in a year buy your truck in cash with 50k left over
I've been doing roofing sales now for the last two months and I'm scared to death. I literally went out one time and I just can't get out of my own head. I got denied from like four houses and I've been discouraged ever since. I want to get out there so bad. You're so motivating but I'm just a chicken s*** I want this so bad too...
Don’t give up. You should be knocking 50 houses a day. Every no is one no closer to a yes.
How are you doing now? Did it get any better for you?
Never be a W2 in the industry
why??
