I think some people here are really ignorant of how difficult it is to simply.lidt someone legs up in that position, also underestimating the smaller opponent's strength.
I had a compilation a few days ago. But I did not win any rounds. I got 2 arm bars on a girl but the ref did not call it. Today I went to class and the couch and professor gave kids strips. I have a white belt 4 strips. So I thought I was gunna get a gray belt. This might sound selfish but… I did not get a new belt so I cried. The reason I cried is because I’ve been doing jiu jitsu for a year and 2 months and all my friends have already gotten a gray belt about a year and a half ago but I’m stuck at a white belt even though I should have gotten a win. Also, I’ve gone with the same girl for 3 compilations. She got gold for all three but is still a white belt. I don’t think that’s fair because I have to keep going with the same girl even though she has won 3 competitions against me. She is basically sand bagging me…
Good for you for getting out there, for training, and especially for competing. Believe it or not...Win or lose, it doesn't matter. Your belt certainly doesn't matter, at all, ESPECIALLY at juvenile. My 5 year old daughter is a grey/white belt with two stripes. She doesn't even understand the purpose of jiu-jitsu. Does the grey/white belt make her better than a twelve year old white belt? Of course not, that's absurd. The belts will come. The competition wins will come. If you enjoy jiu-jitsu, if you understand the benefit you will reap from it, keep training, have fun, and forget about the rest.
what do you mean you "should have gotten the win"... you didn't get the win end of story if they don't wanna give you the armbar then just break their arm belts are not given to cry babies, they're earned when deserved
Don't let your dad pick the title, jesus christ. Goodluck with the future tourneys, there's bound to be losses but thats where we learn.
