She was a stunning young woman. I miss seeing her on different shows or her having interviews. I was a senior in high school when my friend called me screaming saying “cut on the radio they said your girl Aaliyah (i was a huge Aaliyah fan and people knew that) was killed in a plane crash”. I was like “that’s not funny” and right when I cut on the radio the radio station said ladies and gentlemen we have some awful news to report it’s been confirmed that the singer Aaliyah was involved in a horrible plane crash about 4 hours ago while she was leaving the Bahamas after shooting her music video from rock the boat aaliyah and 6 others have tragically perished but Aaliyah’s bodyguard and one other survived the initial crash”. My heart literally dropped to my feet.We found out later that her bodyguard and another passenger died on route to the hospital but died. The bodyguard spent his last moments asking about Aaliyah. They ask the bodyguard what happened and he said the plane took off fine but as they began to ascending the plane tilted to the left and he said the pilot tried to correct it by tilting lightly to the right but it stalled and nose dived to he ground bursting into flames. Her bodyguard kept asking the EMT “the girl sitting behind me (Aaliyah) is she okay”. The EMT said no and that she was killed and they said he got real quiet and about 30 mins later he passed. Such a horrible situation. She’s so very missed

Her talent reminds me of Michael Jackson because just like him she was so fluid with her voice and dancing, she definitely deserve to be in the rock n'roll Hall of Fame someday alongside the greats and legends of music.
