Good job with the Geraniums I live in the UK ,I find a sheltered spot and fleece mine sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t utilize I cut them all down last month when I moved them and they have all flowered again it’s so mild here . I’ve also had 8 bags of leaves so far, my heart goes out to you with all your leaf fall .
I am in zone 3 so your zone 6 sounds good. I bring all my geraniums in for the winter and they take over the window sills . When you were collecting snapdragon seeds at first I thought you had a deer watching you and then realized it was a big brown leaf lol. So glad to see Cutie is okay.
Hi Jodi. Back in Jersey, I accidentally left a philodendron outside. But I never knew it because it was buried under massive snowfalls all winter. That Spring, it came back beautifully. Go figure.
Jodi my dusty miller came back as well as their sister, they get taller every year. I cannot wait to see how they look next year. They looked beautiful with the snow on them last winter
I’m wondering if you could use your shed in the garden. You cleared it out and have all that space (if you still have all the space) you might just be able to put some of your pots in there rather than taking out the pots too. Great job getting to them before the colder weather sets in for good. 💖
Unfortunately they would freeze. I would definitely do that if we didn’t get down in the negatives in the winter. Same with my garage. Neither are heated so although the provide some protection it just gets too cold 😊
Oh that makes sense. I’m in the uk and although it gets cold the out buildings are perfect for that kind of thing. Great if your mum can store them then 😁 good old mum 💖
@@suzihill78 Just as a side note.... best I can figure, the UK is around a zone 8 growing zone if looking at the US requirements for a zone and listening to gardeners over there who have tried to put themselves in a zone. I'm northern Indiana just below the state line with Michigan, probably a couple hours south of Jodi, and for years have been in the colder of the zone 5 levels and don't trust the zone 6 they claim I am now. Jodi is probably a 4, 5, or 6, but I'm guessing 5.... I think the upper peninsula is 4, but not sure. And I haven't heard her mention if they are in a lake effect zone, which affects how much snow can get dumped randomly. I believe places like Seattle Washington, and South and North Carolina, and Virginia are typically about a zone 8.
Hello Jodi. I didn’t plant anything in the yard but I did utilize pots. Most of those are dead from the summer heat. I am still trying to declutter the house. I have had three yard sales. But there is so much more. I am a Couponer as well. Hoping for one more yard sale.
Hello Jodi. I so enjoy watching you and your garden. Love the clips of you and your squirrel friends. They are so sweet. Finally, I got some projects done at my home. I have to have surgery, so I thought I should be prepared for it. Blessings to you and your family.❤
Great job on the garden, Jodi! You should have lots to plant next season. Love seeing your squirrels! Mine have been coming almost everyday. The brown squirrel looks like your “cutie”. He comes right up to me to wait for his peanuts. He does eat from my hand. The grey and black squirrels are more shy. I talk to mine like you do!😂 Even my neighbor knows I feed them. Hugs to all! Your Michigan neighbor!💜🥰🍁🍁🍁🦃🦃🦃
Two years ago, I bought 2 Elephant Ears for $15.00 ea. that I was afraid to cut off and dry to keep so I had big houseplants instead. Well enough of that, I cut and dried bulbs and placed in a shoe box in the basement this year and kept 2 baby ones in pot to carry on in the house incase the drying doesnt work. I will let you know how things work out....keeping fingers crossed!🤞😉
Hi Jodi, It's so cool that you're saving your germanium & other plants over the winter. We're in Eastern Washington, I don't know what zone we're in. But I've seen some of my geraniums live over the winter, with no water or not much sun! Even some petunias have lasted & snapdragons also! We don't always have snow, but it does get very cold. December & January, February, some too! I just left them in the pot. But I might bring them this year. They grew very big & little bushy this year. Did you get a lot of trick or treaters? We don't. I think I'm going to put my tree up this weekend. When do you put your tree up? Ok, good luck with your plants! That was so cool you saw all your squirrels, friends. I love it when you take to them. I bet you they might start climbing on you to get their peanuts by next year! Even out of your pocket? So lucky to have them! Thanks for sharing all your plants & squirrel friends! Have a great day! ♥️😉🫂🐾🦋🦃🇺🇸🎅🏻🤶🏻☃️✨️
Hi Shara 🤗 Oh my gosh how wonderful. That’s a long time for those to last ❤️❤️ We stopped handing out candy 3 years ago because I want to be with my grandbabies 🥰 So we just go to their neighborhood and the girls trick and my grandbabies all trick or treat ❤️❤️
My Grandmother always saved her geraniums. She kept them in her basement but it was an old basement and cold. Boy have you got leaves! We have to rake a little every week or our yard would be inundated with them. I hate raking. Lol
Do you see the corn cob holders at the Lowes or Home Depot? You attach them to a tree and the squirrels love them. My husband built me some and they have a little place for the squirrels to sit and eat. You put an ear of dried corn in them and the squirrels love them. I also love the squirrels. You really did have some beautiful flowers this year.
Jodi, I live in South Central Texas. I over-winter my begonias right in their Terre cotta pots outside. I take the foliage off the top & leave the rest in the pot. I cover them with plastic or tarps if it goes below freezing. I give them water. Of course, it doesn’t get nearly as cold here as where you live.
Hi Jodi, I feel so blessed, my hubby bought me a grow tent. He put it up in our basement so that I could bring in my outdoor plants. Well not only am I trying the overwintering that way, this is my first go at it. I am also doing a lot of propagating. I have about 180-ish house plants. Good luck to both of us! 🪴🌼🌸
I am so curious to see if the dusty miller comes back! I have one more mowing to mulch leaves yet to do and then the mower and lawn tools are going to hibernation season! It's been decent weather here but today it is raining. Hopefully no snow or ice! Have a great week!
Me too Barb. I hope it does come back 🤞 I’m looking forward to the Hibernating of the garden tools 😂 I have so much to do inside. Hope you have a great week too ❤️
Hi Jodi, nothing exciting going on here. I’m just trying to get my self to start cleaning ahead of putting up my Christmas 🎄 decor. I’m hoping to get a project started after the New Year - I’m not happy with the furniture in my bedroom and I’d love to decorate it some more. Looking forward to your Winter 🥶 indoor projects videos.
I overwintered geraniums last year. Went the houseplant route. Lol. But I just have 2 pots of geraniums. I just dont have anywhere out of the house that doesn't freeze.
Hi 👋 Jodi... Overwintering is good. Did you vote today? Not asking your choice just wondering if you voted. Can't complain if didn't vote. 😅 Mom often used to move her plants into the garage to overwinter but if you need the vehicle space there..not an option. Actually, piling leaves around plants you want to overwinter with a chicken wire "well" around the plants still in the ground works for many. ( At least it did in Maine). Can't say specifics as that was over 20 years ago. 😂
Hi Edie 🤗 Yes absolutely went out and voted yesterday ❤️ Piling leaves around the dusty miller is a great idea. That might help it. Hoping it comes back 🤞

Oh surgery, I hope you are ok! I’ll be thinking of you and sending prayers 🙏
Thank you Jodi, supposed to snow in Denver on Wednesday, cold wind today, had snowy sleet yesterday.😘

Hey Jodi 👋
I submitted for 2 rebates 2 png. It's overwhelming for me. But I took your advice of writing it down 1st. Was a breeze.😅
Yay ❤️❤️
In Ohio, Mom would tale geraniums, bare root, and hang them upside down in our basement. Yep, easy.
❤️❤️❤️
Hi.. from Valparaiso indiana
Hi Joelle 🤗
You can cut them down more. Mama Brooke on her channel does this ever year. She cuts them right down. Im sure she has a video about this
I like those scissors your using on the plants. Where did you get those?
Hi Laura I found them on clearance at Walmart or Meijer about a month ago 😊
Thank you 😊@@jodidunnmymessylife1847
Jodi. Sent you an email link on how to overwinter the geraniums
Thanks Edie 🤗
What are you going to do this winter when they are hibernating? Lol.
Freak out of course 😂😂😂
