  • We all have tasks to carry out around the home where we may need a ladder. Here's a review of the Mastercraft Multi Ladder you may find interesting.
    I am not sponsored by Canadian Tire or Mastercraft. This is just my thoughts on this ladder. I figure if you are looking to buy one of these units, you might find some of my impressions helpful in your determination of which ladder to get.

    You can make an "S" hook to hang your paint can in the rung of the ladder,?You dont have to hold the paint in one hand.

    • @GrampiesWorkshop
      @GrampiesWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How's she goin'? Yes that's a great thing to do. When on any ladder having 3 points of contact is always the safest and by hanging your paint can on the S hook, you have a hand free to make the 3rd point connection. Great idea!!! Thanks for mentioning it. I hope you liked the video and come back often!!! Great to have your input on the channel Take 'er easy!!!

    I got this was on sales.
    I m happy I have it. The issue with the buttons and locking mechanism, DW40 took care of it. Have you tried that.?It needed to be lubricated.
    Also like many people find it little heavy to carry around, but I don't minde the inconvenience for having a strong and safer ladder .

    • @GrampiesWorkshop
      @GrampiesWorkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      How's she goin'? I did put some lube on the buttons but they don't seem to line up just right and need some messing with to get them to engage. With use though it got better!! It is a strong ladder and the wide feet at the base give it extra stability, which is nice. Thanks for checking on the channel and take care!!

    Yes be very careful with your finger. I got lucky it was just skin that scrapped. No fun at all. I recommend adjusting it laying flat on ground

    • @GrampiesWorkshop
      @GrampiesWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How's she goin'? That is very good advice. It sure is a finger trap and if you lay it on the ground it is safer to adjust. A bit harder, but safer!!! Thanks for tuning in and take 'er easy!!!

    I have one similar for 10 years or more now , has many uses and very versatile , where I found it the handiest is in stairways , like you say a finger trap , Ive pinched myself a few times and it hurts , the cause of some colorful poetry , nice review , have a good one

      How's she goin'? I hear ya!!! You could write that poetry down and add a few chords and you'd have your self a hit song I bet!!! The ladder sure is versatile. Great for stairs like you say. Glad I have it , once it''s set up that is!!! Thanks for tuning in Darrell and have a great week buddy!!!

    My parents got one at Costco. It's indeed sturdy. It can be heavy to move, but once it's set, then you are safe. For my purpose, I have the typical unstable step ladder. But I also got an 8-12 ft extension ladder that is incredibly light. I even use it indoor! For stairs, I like to set up scaffold boards standing in ladders to add some spice to the job! Lol! Thanks for sharing Mike!

      How's she goin'? Yes sir, you have have to be on your guard when setting up this ladder. As for the organizing part, well I appreciate your comment, but I'm not too well organized myself. I find now, I'll change the shop around to be what I think is better organized, and then I'll forget where I put everything!!! Thanks for tuning in and take 'er easy!!!

    I purchased one at Costco ,which is similar. 20 ' full up and 10 'step ladder. It is very sturdy and stable , but lord thunderin , is it ever heavy to move around. Yes, i did get my hand caught once between the rungs. Lesson learned quick ,i can tell ya. Take care!!

      How's she goin'? I guess that's the thing with these types of ladders. Plenty flexible and easy to get your fingers caught!!! I guess having a jammed finger is easier to deal with than falling off an improperly set up ladder and breaking an arm eh!!! Thanks for watching Gord and we'll take to ya!!!

    I'd definitely end up pinching my fingers in it. I'd also dislike the narrow rungs. I have arthritis and peripheral neuropathy which makes my feet very sensitive to uneven surfaces.
    Having said that, if you only have the space to store one ladder, it's probably a good choice.
    I had one of those 40' extension ladders that got used about once every ten years. I finally sold it for $40 a couple years ago after dragging it around for a few decades lol.
    Have a great long weekend!

    • @GrampiesWorkshop
      @GrampiesWorkshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello there Bruce!!! For a home owner with limited space this would be a good choice for a ladder like you say. I also have a 24 foot extension ladder, but I can store it on the side of the barn and so it isn't an issue. They both have their places for sure eh!!! The rungs are very uncomfortable for me to stand on for any length of time so I tend to use the step ladder or the extension ladder more than this one, but I still think this is a decent ladder to have around. Thanks for tuning in and I hope your Labour Day weekend rocks!!!

    I have the same one. I regret my purchase, they're dangerous if you don't use them all the time. I've cut my fingers more than once with them. I now don't even think of using them without gloves any longer.

    • @GrampiesWorkshop
      @GrampiesWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How's she goin'? Yes sir, they sure are a finger trap!!! When I set mine up I am very aware of where my fingers are all the time and still I have gotten pinched a time or two. The plus of this type of ladder is the ability to set it up on un-level surfaces. I needed it to paint in a stairway. It worked real good for that, but setting it up sort of took the fun out of it for sure!!! Great that you found my channel and watched this video. I sure appreciate it and I hope you come back often!! Take care!!!

      How's she goin'? Thanks!!! I used to use any sort of container to store little bits and pieces in, then I thought coffee cans would be better as they are bigger. But the were hard to grab a hold of to lift them down off the shelf. When Folgers came out with a plastic can that was easy to grip, well I was like a kind in a candy shop!!! Thanks for watching and take care!!

    At one time, I was going to get one of those ladders but decided not for some of the reasons you mentioned. I do, however, like the flare of the bottom legs which implies more stability from side-to-side. Thanks for the fine review, Mike.

    Hello Mike. Great review . I spend a lot of time on ladders at work. We have tried different ladders over the year and our favourite ones are the simple ones. we have tried ones like you have. Most of them are sitting on a shelf at the shop not being used. We use one that is a step ladder plus turns into a straight one also. No levers to pull or buttons to push just simple to use and very strong and also really light too. Cheers

    • @GrampiesWorkshop
      @GrampiesWorkshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there John!!! I find this ladder is cumbersome to get set up and is hard on my feet, but the versatility of it is great. For outdoor work around the camp here, on uneven ground and such, I like this one the best. But I agree with you, it's not a simple ladder to use and is a finger trap waiting to be sprung on a poor unsuspecting old guy like myself!!! Thanks for watching John and take care!!!
