Hi great and honest review thanks! FYI I found that when the guitar is plugged in, by default the sound comes only through the amp indeed. But if you push and hold on the "start" button, the sound in addition comes through the guitar also. Best of both worlds
To be honest, I don`t really dig into acoustics, but when you played the delayed part on 16:54 - man, I was blown away and instantly changed my mind on that guitar. It`s a shame there is no left-handed version, so I can`t play it
I’ve got a TA from the first series, which I purchased solely based on your recommendation, that time we all got sick and stayed home for a season. It arrived in the exact condition you reported and performs exactly as I expected . I think I’ll wait till the TA4, which will hopefully address the issues you have identified. Thanks Henning!!👍👍👍
I have one. I love it, but I liked the slimmer neck shape on the previous version better. It needs an octave down effect so you can layer bass lines in the loops.
great review. I echo the cable problem. This guitar is almost perfect except the horrible piezo sound. Yamaha has the technology to make it right, such as AC3 series, but the piezo sound on this guitar is just not justifying the price for plugin sound
I just laughed at your (German?) tone of humour 😄 Stopped at mind-blowing's house but didn't enter 😄 Was so well delivered. I don't often laugh out loud with someone but that got me
This review is great. The idea of the guitar is amazing but every improvement EytschPi42 calls out (e.g. USB-C charging, footswitch, additional memory banks, etc.) makes me want to wait until TAG3 C 2.0.
yamaha always had good acoustic guitars the best electric that i played was the sbg 200. if i could find one again would be great. and looks like snoopy dog is gonna be the overseer and director of your channel
Yamaha really should put their SRT technology in it as well so it sounds as good as their A3M when plugged in (which is basically the same guitar but without the effects). I’ve never heard any better plugged in acoustic sound than from Yamaha’s SRT preamps. Oh and after those songs of Raphael I wanna hear him do a recreation of Bob Dylan’s The Freewheelin’ and post it on Spotify.
About the charging cable: a usb connector next to the jack output which could also do data/midi transfer would be great. Bluetooth in a crowded venue is an unstable b*tch. Too many signals from phones pushing out against each other. A combi cable with both jack and usb would be nice for the pro.
Since you’re a fan of the SRT system and the A3M, maybe you‘d be interested in my A3M, which I‘m planning to sell in order to get the TAG3 C. I bought it in very good condition for €700 just a few months ago. A sweet guitar and pickup system for sure, but I long for the TAG3 despite it not having the SRT built in.
Not a problem you just buy a new guitar. Trust me Yamaha are famous for this dumb sh@t. They will want to keep the guitar and do it themselves and charge you enough buy a new guitar. I waited 3 months to get an amp back, and had to pay shipping charges too. It would be much cheaper to get fixed locally but they would not ship the parts.
Thank you for the more in depth look at this guitar, but why are the reviews for this guitar coming out now when its not available for purchase for several months. Every site I check doesn't have it available until February next year, yet there's already several video reviews. I know you had the guitar a week or more before this video came out, so why is Yamaha wanting reviews now than when it is actually available to buy?
I was seriously tempted by this guitar but there are none available anywhere because everyone and his dog who does reviews has one to promote pre sale orders. After watching every review I came to the conclusion that there are nicer sounding guitars out there, including some by Yamaha itself. In conclusion I've ordered the Yamaha AC5R ARE, quite simply a better sounding guitar, the gimmicky stuff I can get from amps, effect pedals or even an app on my phone.
That’s the main point! Cool features for sure…. But how does its base tone stack up? I’ll buy one when I can actually hear what it sounds like side by side with other models.
Always nice of them to send you an unboxed guitar so you can even start the video and show the unboxing of the second guitar. 😛 17:55 always good if you have to speed up the video and cut out the nice playing just to get back on track. Ha. Edit: Just now got to the part with the cable. Even for non professional musicians I think this is not a good solution. I have fast charging plug for my phone. I still sometimes use a very old charger. It takes ages to get it back to 100% but it works. If this is damaged/ or in any other way incapacited, you are done. You have a kinda good acoustic guitar with funny knobs that do nothing.
Should I get an acoustic guitar with a looper or use the money to buy, not just get a new needed car, but the one with the baking oven and deep fryer. WTF!!!!
I just must say this guitar blow me away when you got the effects correct, it is amazing... The thing is before you turn on the effect it sounds really good, but when you turn them on, it is another level... And then you turn it off and you destroyed all other acustics... It is a really GAS lightning about this guitar, I'm really happy to have it! They are hard to find though... I found mine in Italy and I'm living in Sweden.... And after that we need to talk about the looper, that is just amazing as a practice tool or as a song writing companion...
I have always been impressed by Yamaha's acoustics.

aaaahhhhhhh
Nothing ist built to last - in a product review........😂🎉 Thats better than Monty Python 👍 love it!

Roll on the TAG4 with pedal and better power and I will get one in a heartbeat. Great points Mr H.
That song is brilliant, Thank you 🙏
❤
Yamaha continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with an acoustic guitar.
Pretty cool stuff from Yamaha! Also...Snooperdog! 🤗

03:20 Beautiful Song, really like the sound of the recording. The "barebones" sound fits the song quite well and the guitar sound really good
❤

First they turn the Frogs Gay, now, Acoustic Guitars...Black Helicopters 😎🍻🤘
Forgot to mention that the guitar works best with Fruity Loops.
Came here out of curiosity, stayed for Rafa’s singing, almost rang a doorbell. But had to go for the songwriting course.
Nice!
❤❤❤

Hi, was wondering when your end of the year you need to sell stuff pdf/video will come out?
Might not do one...
Leslie said it is too much work for her.
Write to iwantthis at henningpauly dot com and she can send you a list of current stuff.
This too shall pass was an excellent song. Not sure about the guitar but the song was stellar. Very John Denverish
Thank you ❤

Wonder how you change the batteries after a few years? After several hundred recharges, it will probably need some.

1600....are there any cheaper Alternatives?
I just knew you were going to step up to the mic and bang out Your Cheating Heart

Strange use of a looper. I thought you were supposed to play over the top of the loop, still he has great annunciation.
Nice review! I fully agree with the cable problem. As a workaround, you can also use an USB extension. But yeah, stupid

8:23 snooperdog!!!!!!!
Mit looper??? Yes please!!!
Yeah ok when the chorus came in I got it
I have a 6ft USB C to USB A female cable adapter. I plug in the female A end in and at the USB C end have a brick I plug it in to charge. Plenty long.

Hi poopy :)
He’s such a camera hog 😂
Weiner dog wins the video😂

Fun, but not worth the plata.
This should have been a 10 minute review. Valid points, but it took way too long to get there. Scrubbing is the key to watching this video.
awesome... can you do please do the 10 minute version... I'll watch it
