Nancy.....I commend you for making the effort. So many take the easy way out and stock up on frozen meals or eat out constantly. I listen to a local radio host who admits he and his wife eat out every single night! Even holidays. As a kid we almost never ate out. Too expensive and not nutritious either.
msr111 my husband just dislikes eating out. If I suggest eating out he will usually say, “Can’t you cook that at home and better than that place?” I thought it was a complement until I realized he just can’t stand eating out! I don’t like the taste of previously frozen food. So, I cook...daily...three meals a day! That’s 1,095 meals, not counting snacks, per year. So I find myself running out of new ideas. TH-cam to the rescue! 😎
Nancy.....I'm a big fan of copycat cookbooks, having amassed a small collection. Trust me, any man who enjoys his wife's cooking is paying her a compliment because if he didn't like it, he would find a way to avoid the experience. Most men are that way.....they don't tolerate bad cooking for long. My own dad didn't trust strangers with his food so that might be the underlying issue with your husband.
I love me a good grocery haul!! In future grocery hauls, would you consider talking about how the amount you spent fits in with your monthly food budget? I expend a lot of effort in making sure my grocery spending sticks to budget, and when I watch these hauls I always wonder how people can do a big shop while keeping to their budget.
So glad to hear that I'm not the only one who takes it easy at first. It is hard for everyone and the best way to get back into things is making it fun and exciting at first!

Yes! Simple, simple, simple! Even though your princess arrival is in about 4 months. I would (as your energy allows) stockpile a variety of canned goods and toiletries as well as meal freezer prep so when she arrives everyone can microwave or oven bake ready meals!
I love watching what people buy at the grocery store. I think I am one of those few people who absolutely love grocery shopping. I don’t however care for shopping for anything else. It occurs to me while I am on the other side of 60 that I probably should have made a career out of it. So thank you for sharing.
My favorite 2 grocery stores! With 5 kiddos (2-12 years old) and my hubby and myself, shopping there saves me so much! We use Sam's Club for diapers & wipes - just that is worth the membership when your little blessing arrives! We have two sets of the glass food storage sets and love them! They do get VERY hot when using them in the microwave so be careful. I usually go to Aldi weekly and try to only go to Sam's once a month. Grocery shopping is a lot of work so I take a tea break with my feet up after all is done to motivate me!
Freeze the GoGurts for yogurt popsicles!! That’s how I’ve done them for years for my children and they only know them as yogurt Popsicles😊😋 they are also way less messy for younger children.
Love the grocery haul, and Love when I can usually stock up like that. It's a lot of work but so glad when it's done, so I can imagine you're tired!!! Hope the baby is doing well!!! 💜

Hi Lynn! You are glowing in your pregnancy! I dont remember having so much energy. Lol. Years ago our pediatric dentist advised us to avoid the gummy fruit snacks. He said the sticky consistency allows the food to remain in the tiny crevices of the teeth. After eliminating them our daughter was cavity free. Just a thought for your sweet littles🥰❤😍
What a great idea to put a lazy susan in the fridge! Some stuff always gets shuffled around then winds up shoved to the back, forgotten about till it becomes a science project.

Food shopping can be tiring. Do you have curbside pick up at any of your local stores (or delivery)? Its a huge time saver. If instacart is in your area you might be able to get Aldi delivered ~ its pretty nice, especially when you are pregnant or have little kids .
Good haul... we mommas are the hunter-gatherers for sure. Great idea to bring the cooler-- I've never thought of that! I routinely shop at Sam's (although I am super annoyed they always run out of pesto lately- its so good!)Trader Joe's, Smart and Final, and the local farmer's market.
I love Aldi. We usually buy cases at a time of tomato products be cause they are 49 cents which is cheaper than any of our stores here. I love their meats. We also get their pasta noodles and macaroni.

We buy four gallons of milk at a time. We go through at least 6 gallons of milk a week. We live 35 miles from the "city", so not convenient to go often. We pick up the extra milk locally as necessary, but so much more expensive. I want all glass storage containers, but my husband would most likely break them. I have four pieces and love them! There should be happy bellies in your home. Grocery shopping is exhausting!
Our closest Sam’s Club is 35 minutes away so it’s hard to get there. They are remodeling our Aldi’s and they are doing a soft opening on August 16 but the Grand Opening is August 22. Can’t get here soon enough.

My eldest is heading into 1st grade this fall which means all day and which means he’ll need a good school lunch everyday. Can you possibly do some videos about what to make for school lunches? I need some variety ideas so he won’t be too bored. I also would like to make him some warm lunches and if you could share those that would be great!
Just a few basic tips: Watch mail fliers or go online to look for Sam's Club "instant savings" before heading out. I stock up on those items each month. You can use your online cart as a shopping list/reminder of those items or place a "store pick up" order to cut your time (and temptations) in the store. I think I heard they deliver now too! A "plus" membership will get you early entry (9 am for my store). It also gets you free shipping on online orders. (I forgot "rewards"--a percentage of every dollar spent given once a year.) Many more items are offered online that aren't in the stores. I'm sure there are more ways to take advantage of your membership that I haven't figured out yet--happy shopping! :)

If you have BJ’s near you in FL I love it. I had Costco and Sams when we lived in MI but when we moved to Clermont, FL they are both 45 minutes to an hour away but BJ’s is 10 minutes. I reluctantly decided to try it for a year and I am so glad I did. I love it more than either of the other ones.

Emily Ashline Aldi requires customers to deposit a quarter in the cart in order to use it. It cuts down in them having to hire someone to keep the shopping carts in order. Customers return the cart after shopping, and get the quarter deposit back. There’s a slot to place the quarter as well as a chain to keep the shopping carts together. This helps to maintain a parking lot that is neat in appearance. Shoppers also take their own bags and bag their own groceries at a long counter after purchasing groceries. Bags are available for purchase at the checkout. Boxes are free for customers to use. The boxes are usually at the customer bagging counter. The cashiers sit down while checking out customers. That’s a great job perk!

Momma Lyn went to the fridge to get her children some food, but when she got there the fridge was bare so she said "I'm going shopping"...lol I love Sams Club, I don't get alot of food there because it's 2 hours away but we use the online shopping for our toilet paper, garbage bags, dishwasher pods and so on. Once in a blue moon I'll be in the area and I stop in. Love my Aldis too👍👍now rest! Tfs
We don’t use them except for a few times a year. ☺️ I use a kuerig because I’m pretty much the only one in our house to drink coffee - so this pack will last forever.
I did the same deal with Groupon BUT I learned they will automatically renew your membership using the information Groupon has on file. I will not "auto" renew anything! I was told to take the payment information off Groupon and then they will not auto-renew.

Just fyi... Sams prices aren't always cheaper. I price compare between wlamart and amazon. Sometimes walmart is cheaper, especially on auto products, oil and even milk. Its cheaper at aldis, then walmart, then sams. Hubby loves their fresh squeezed o.j.!! ❤❤ I get my cereal and soda pops there.
Whew.........I feel your exhaustion! We shop at commissary about once every two months or a bit more and I stock up! I keep two refrigerators and they are packed but we live a distance and all in all I save more by not going so often except for milk or produce. I freeze a lot of things and it sure comes in handy. Putting it all away is a job and a half as we are retired and just the two of us so normally about 60-65 bags of groceries. UGH I do find comfort however in having it off my to do list and find a sense of security knowing there is food laid in for a couple 2 months or so. Wow, recalling it all gives me a headache. LOL It is real work as well.......and then cooking it all............I won't go there. LOL LOL Have a blessed day! Love your vlogs!

Not sure your location, but a new Cosco opens Aug. 18th or 19th just off of 75 and 64.. Yeah.. It was a drive for us to go to the one in Sarasota. I have those Glass storage containers and love them.
Aldi doesn't have cart corrals in the parking lot or people to bring in their carts and such (along with baggers at the checkout tbh) and the quarter in the cart is so that you'll bring it back to get your quarter back. :)
That’s How Aldi works. You put a quarter in to unlock the cart. And then you put the cart back and you get your quarter again. It’s a way for them to keep their prices lower. They don’t need to hire cart pushers etc. ☺️

We use the Hawaiian Rolls for Cuban Sliders, Hamburger sliders, and mini sandwiches for lunches. They are my daughter's favorite lunch items.

Nothing like a full refrigerator. Those snacks would be gone very quickly especially the cheese and yogurt. Joseph lives on them. Yum.

It ended up not even doing much then 😄 that’s how Florida is. It can rain on a dime or not rain at all.
Sometimes shopping for food takes so much out of you. We've never tried the Ranch Veggie Straws, sounds good ☺.

Nope I’ve never seen the square ones. ☺️ he can’t do anything that needs heating up. So I don’t always pack much depending..

Emily Ashline Aldi requires customers to deposit a quarter in the cart in order to use it. It cuts down in them having to hire someone to keep the shopping carts in order. Customers return the cart after shopping, and get the quarter deposit back. There’s a slot to place the quarter as well as a chain to keep the shopping carts together. This helps to maintain a parking lot that is neat in appearance. Shoppers also take their own bags and bag their own groceries at a long counter after purchasing groceries. Bags are available for purchase at the checkout. Boxes are free for customers to use. The boxes are usually at the customer bagging counter. The cashiers sit down while checking out customers. That’s a great job perk!

Momma Lyn went to the fridge to get her children some food, but when she got there the fridge was bare so she said "I'm going shopping"...lol I love Sams Club, I don't get alot of food there because it's 2 hours away but we use the online shopping for our toilet paper, garbage bags, dishwasher pods and so on. Once in a blue moon I'll be in the area and I stop in. Love my Aldis too👍👍now rest! Tfs

You should buy your coffee filters at Sam's. They come in a huge package for just a couple of dollars. One of the best deals there!
We don’t use them except for a few times a year. ☺️ I use a kuerig because I’m pretty much the only one in our house to drink coffee - so this pack will last forever.

I did the same deal with Groupon BUT I learned they will automatically renew your membership using the information Groupon has on file. I will not "auto" renew anything! I was told to take the payment information off Groupon and then they will not auto-renew.
You can freeze your go-gurts and they will thaw in time for lunch for the boys. 😁 When you pack for school lunches.

Aldi’s cheese tortellini taste just like the Buitoni brand. My favorite recipe to make with it is tortellini soup. I’m making your Poor Man’s Steak tonight for dinner, it looked so good. ❤️
Carol F......The Aldi by me has dry tortellini in three flavors and the most flavorful is the tomato oregano, although I find it to be quite strong.
Just fyi... Sams prices aren't always cheaper. I price compare between wlamart and amazon. Sometimes walmart is cheaper, especially on auto products, oil and even milk. Its cheaper at aldis, then walmart, then sams. Hubby loves their fresh squeezed o.j.!! ❤❤ I get my cereal and soda pops there.
Whew.........I feel your exhaustion! We shop at commissary about once every two months or a bit more and I stock up! I keep two refrigerators and they are packed but we live a distance and all in all I save more by not going so often except for milk or produce. I freeze a lot of things and it sure comes in handy. Putting it all away is a job and a half as we are retired and just the two of us so normally about 60-65 bags of groceries. UGH I do find comfort however in having it off my to do list and find a sense of security knowing there is food laid in for a couple 2 months or so. Wow, recalling it all gives me a headache. LOL It is real work as well.......and then cooking it all............I won't go there. LOL LOL

I hope you used the Scan-n-Go app at Sam's Club. It's the main reason I chose Sam's instead of Costco. No waiting in line to pay!

@@LynetteYoder Cool. Keep in mind that with the app, you don't have to unload and scan things at the register at all. You scan items as you put them in your cart, pay with the app and walk out.

I forget the price but I Aldi usually has them at under a dollar a dozen. Maybe not right now. But they do pretty frequently. Or a little more than that. But I’m pretty sure Sam’s was more expensive..
Not sure your location, but a new Cosco opens Aug. 18th or 19th just off of 75 and 64.. Yeah.. It was a drive for us to go to the one in Sarasota. I have those Glass storage containers and love them.

I noticed the quarter in the shopping cart. What is that about? Curious?
Aldi doesn't have cart corrals in the parking lot or people to bring in their carts and such (along with baggers at the checkout tbh) and the quarter in the cart is so that you'll bring it back to get your quarter back. :)
That’s How Aldi works. You put a quarter in to unlock the cart. And then you put the cart back and you get your quarter again. It’s a way for them to keep their prices lower. They don’t need to hire cart pushers etc. ☺️
