Nothing can ever replace the flexibility that 2-3 kscopes offer for newer players. If you're day 1 like me you prob have a couple of MLB scopes but then again the same goes for BG.
I gotta go opposite of that. You get so many events with 50 charge ce like we just had with the melt ce. Combined with a free aoe arts welfare farmer who gets their append skill easily and xuu fuu you pretty much can farm better without a kscope. Black grail can come in better handy when they get a castoria of their own and have the power to use it. The 50 ce don't go to waste either as they can be used for castoria to regain charge too. Kscope gets less useful the better you get and black grail when you get adjusted. It's also not that useful when you can start with waver too

Xuu fuu who with a friend castoria gets you to 100 charge with black grail on top of that ssr pick getting plug suited in if you somehow can't get the refund with this set up. Kscope literally has no place for this unless you wanna do a quick or buster build and beginners would see the writing on the wall how bad of an idea that is without summoning vitch or Oberon themselves same with skadi while arts you have more options than I can list Also bad take there. Or black grail is more than enough damage on ce effect and full attack damage. Kscope I can't think of any need for it especially after getting that melt ce The game really has left it behind with how many different resources we got now a days
@@Razor1473 plus kscope wouldn't help in the long run too. Maxing out a bg on base will give more attack too. Plus whoever gets kscope will immediately regret it when the boss is still alive and you could refund np on base not needing kscope in the first place.
Black Grail is a much better meta pick, but I think a lot of people overlook just how much flexibility a K-Scope still gives for comfortably min-turning nodes outside 90+/90++ (which is still a thing). The really big difference there is appends usually making a single K-Scope good enough for that, but being able to pull it off without a lored append 2 is still often really useful. Personally the decision's pretty easy, since I already have a maxed BG, while I've rolled a total of 2 Scopes *ever* between two accounts with ~7 years of combined play time. (Of course I MLBd Great Marshal of Magic within 6 months of it releasing.)
Thing is, we have so many good free 50% charge CEs that it doesn't really matter, new players aren't doing to be lacking in battery either when they have Free Waver, Xu Fu and can borrow Castoria
Lores are so plentiful that append 2 on useful servants isn't really a downside assuming you're not addicted to max skilling a ton of random servants. I'm sat with dozens of lores just waiting to be used because I only max skill someone when I have an immediate need, you know?

Oof, that stings. Those were the days man. I can still remember Waver was a very unpopular re-roll option when the game first launched. My first SSR was Jeanne, and boy did we realize later on how important supports were going to be in future content.
well, early fgo people didn't really know how to direction of the game would be going, now we could get a CE that gives you 25% bond gain but reduces every team member base HP to 1 and it would be the best CE in the game. before the meta was 3 charge CES since there was no reason for 6-slot since there was nothing to 6-slot with you just had like 2 Bond bonus CE even after a long time. and even then there was no way for you to use BG, only some servants like Paracelsus and Nitocris had the charge to use it.
Pick whatever your team needs, it might not be the best 5* CE but if it helps your team better than a Black grail, then get a copy of Kscope/Volumen. even more so for F2P/new players who cant really afford to utilize the maximum potential of a BG, just get a Kscope, its a no brainer. As for Veteran players, if you are 1 copy away from MLB BG, get it, no compromises but if youre still far away from it, just get whatever your team needs (Kscope, Volumen), theres going to be a return of the Golden SUMO CE sometime in the near future and its a great fucking alternative to BG.
I'd argue if you're 2 or 3 copies of BG in, I'd still suggest getting BG. The attack value from the extra 20 levels is worth it for the DPS you're using it on.
It depends on how you interpret it. You can either interpret it like you do, in which case your statement is true or, you can interpret it like "you click the battery only if you have 20 stars to be able to NP" (in which case your statement is still true xD). But yeah, better be aware of that!
While I agree that blackgrail is the best choice most of the time, if you are someone who predominantly quick loops or does buster farming and doesn't like to use plug, even a single kscope can be a gamechanger. I regularly use mine when farming with morgan and Ereshkigal.

Many DPS has batteries now which makes the 50% NP battery CE's + bonus effects much practical. I now mostly use K-scope for Caster Tamamo now cause it allows her to do back to back NP that or with OG Merlin.
@@uselesshero.official I really like Prisma Cosmos for the Immortal Comp (Castoria + Merlin + Morgan/Himiko). The Morgan variation is my go-to Challenge Quest comp, and putting Prisma on Castoria and Morgan helps a lot with consistency regardless of whatever the gimmick is (I don't have Merlin and always use a Friend's RIP).
I was gonna say that people should at least get 1 Kscope, but even nowadays I rarely use it, even when I'm not 6CE farming events. The current event in NA I just use Ocean Flyer or First Day of Filiming for my DPS. An argument can be made that early accounts would want a Kscope. And I say yeah sure. Just 1 is enough tho. MLB Kscope seems like an unecessary luxury now, especially when append skills exist. Also Lasangle has been less stingy with the Crystallized Lore so getting to Append Lv. 10 is much more accessible now
I've been playing FGO for around 3 years, and so far I've only managed to get one Black Grail, the most I could replace it with would be with Heavens Fell, which even in MLB still gives 10% less damage, so I agree with always going by Black Grail.
@@GS_CCC yeah I like being able to use my entire roster and making unique teams, instead of sticking with the same meta double Castoria/Koyanskaya/Skadi systems. Kscope enables that in a way BG can't, thus I use it much more.
I use Gong. There were a couple of times where I wished I had MLB Kscope for Nightingale Santa or Lanling (NP1) to NP chain with Gong. Happy that I finally managed to get MLB Kscope with this ticket. Also already got MLB Black Grail so it helped to simplify the decision. Thanks for the video.
I think the main difference maker is now the better CE choice is determined by how fresh your account is. A kscope on a newer account with no supports is going to be more useful for more of what they will be doing for a long while than Black Grail (which could actually work against them for a super fresh account). On the other hand, a long time account - even just a f2p with maybe a good support from GSSRs - will not likely be wanting for upfront NP charge, and the Black Grail would be far more useful.
New accounts are better with black grail too. I mean did you forget about the free waver or tamamo we can all get? Xuu fuu coming up who's a 30 charge and perfect with the upcoming welfare aoe farmers too. Plus new accounts if they somehow get a ssr like SIbuki space Ishtar or s kama they'll be in for a rude awakening with how low their damage is at np 1. It's honestly a old mentality to try and think kscope is good for new accounts too. It's honestly just holding players back with a crutch and getting punished when the enemy waves get too bulky to handle. Better to get black grail and start learning how to farm or get your batteries up for smart plays instead.
@@ivanbluecoolas an f2p myself, i disagree with that. I have like 4 f2p acc (3 jp and 1 na), 2 of the already in more advance stat while the others are basically still freshly new, and from what i experience, even with the free SSR ticket which you can choose between waver or tamamo for farming reason, xufu, and some free welfare, it still pretty hard to farm without a big NP charge ce. One of the big reason is the material source for upgrade the servant skill. Servant's skill level also have a big impact on loop farming, and you cant expect a newcomers to actually can max level all of them on their early play. The other reason are as free as the welfare and the event ce, they unobtainable due to the time schedule event or that 1 item that you can only obtain by playing the event, leveled up servants, or play the main quest (i forget what it call, but it was something that been used to exchange old welfares). Also expecting for a new players to get a top tier limited loopers that can only be rolled if their banner available on their early play is way worse than expecting them to get kscope which it can spook them many time. For me, it was way easier to just kscope with multiple AoE DPS rather than actually trying to loop with only 1 DPS on my early play. But then again, this is just my opinion as an f2p so it could be different for those non-f2p players.
@@GS_CCC first of all, habenyan is locked until you finished lb6, so if you already finished lb6 you wouldnt call yourself as a newcomers. Second, even if you can somehow roll for her, you need like a ton of FP to be able to NP5 her, which is really hard for a newcomers to get that much unless they are really lucky getting NP5 of her with a few FPs. Third, damage isnt important to newcomer, what they need to do isnt seeking for a higher damage but more stabil farming team. They didnt have to force themself to farm at 90+ or even 90++ cuz they basically still new. Lvl 90 nodes are enough for them to start the game. Unless you trying to speedrun the game. Edit: oh, another thing, being a newcomers means that they have less materials to level up, meaning that even if they manage to get habenyan, that doesnt mean they can max out her 2nd skill instantly.
i still use sup-kscope for casual free quest node farming for my Bunyan. basically waves 1 and 2 are covered by Bunyan and Habertrot/Douman/Nitocris and wave 3 is main dps with buffs from subbed in support after habertrot death if needed (node dependant). Using scopes reduces skill clicks to get nps going and I dont have to worry about buff stacking for typical 3 turning with castoria/koyan systems. and of course using the 3 servants with full charge (douman requires append 2) aoe nps allow me to stack more bond/exp ces.
Been playing ever since the frst Nerofest in NA, I only got my first MLB Kscope this year, with my final BG copy being garanteed this anni so I'm 100% picking that and I can finally meme with Black grail after 5 years WOO.
I put Prisma Cosmos on Asclepius a lot because oftentimes you bring him for longer fights and for those longer fights he sort of needs to be consistently getting his NP off, I feel like if you were using Mash though you’d also want it especially if you’re using pre LB mash because her np gain is deplorable except if she has one skill but also I don’t even feel like that’s necessary now given she’s probably going to be paired with Castoria who just gives out 30% gain team wide frequently and has an np gain buff.
I have an MLB of everything but Formal Craft (but I need 2 more) and Kscope. Took 5 years but I can finally get MLB Kscope and max the level out but yeah, likely will still continue getting way more use out of my MLB Black Grail.
Kscope for new players is great because they don't have supports so getting to NP is rough is the only big reason to pick it. That and some loopers still require kscope or superscope, but that's if you're using Gorgon and such and just not trying to do 90++ or 90+ in some cases. If you have Castoria and don't have MLB black grail it isn't even close, it's the pick. I have MLB black grail +1 spare so I'm getting the kscope since I have an MLB cosmos already and while a 2nd would be nice, I just want to have at least one superscope on the account since I have 3 kscopes now. One thing to note, volumen has a counterpart in the gacha in under the sun. Does the same thing except instead of invincibility it's evade and damage cut instead of damage plus. Only other tiny difference is it's split stats on sun while all HP on volumen.
I was originally going to pick BG because I was short of 1 to MLB, and was the only of those CEs I had yet to MLB, but early this year, I got it. I think I can work on a second MLB Scope then. The rest are already MLBd, including two Volumen.
Yep, I've more than MLBed all the other old 5* CEs (including Victor, Another Ending, 2030, and 500 Years), but I only have 4 Kscopes and 3 Black Grails. What gives?
I have 4 Kscopes and 2 BG, think I'll choose BG. With append skills, Oberon and Castoria MLB Kscope isn't that necessary, but having a MLB BG at some point in the future would be nice.

I think your right but only for a well developed account. I remember for the longest time getting hard carried by kscope Hans to pop the healing instantly while never having a chance to really utilise my BG this was during Skadi and I didn’t really have a unit worth using BG on. Now I have a lot of choices for BG but not having kscope makes early game hell.
One more reason i feel like going for kscope is coz after this it will be replaced by the new kscope and lot breaking it gets very difficult later if you miss it. I need one 1 to mlb it and i already have a mlb black grail so im set
6 years of playing FGO I finally got both mlb black grail and super scope, now I can carry those newbies like my over 1 year offline friends did during my early years :')
The value of BG increased because of Oberon While the value of Kscope decreased because of the introduction of append 2 and new free 50% charge CEs given out in every events
I really prefer the voiced content. I'm don't always understand what is happening or why choices are made in gameplay so I a voiced video explaining things helps!
Let's all be honest. Kscope was only good for the quick meta and even then you better hope you had it mlb which was expensive. Even back then people I knew were getting BG prepared for much later gameplay knowing something would change and when it did it's now way better in general I got lucky to have mlb black grail early myself but I hardly use it as I like to bond up for everything to make my ap worth it most. Black grail comes out when I need something to explode like boss battles That's also why quick and buster have such limited farmers that arc for example needs this to just keep up on damage while arts it's the best option on more than 100 chargers and okitan Karen quick units. Can't be used on normal teams due to the higher investment but again that loops back around to why quick fell off hard as it was expensive to begin with. But I'm getting another prisma cosmos as I'm tired of looking for a Merlin or castoria with one.
It only went down in value because there's too many ways to fuel refunds and if they have their own battery to supplement it further, but for the one-use Servants like that chinese demo man it's there to enable them then be discarded afterwards.
wrong, it was really, really good for the early fgo meta. it allowed you to use chargeless servants to farm without waver + a 50 charge aoe or Helena in your comp. if anything it got a bit worse with skadi since you could replace it in most cases with magical girl sapphire, a CE 100 times easier to obtain MLB since it was from rate up gacha not full random, with skadi you could replace a CE, before you needed another comp.
Kscope was amazing for 3 turning pre-Skadi. Waver's 20% AOE and 50% ST NP battery meant that Kscope's 80% starting charge was great for Wave 2, and I'd use one of the rare 50% starting charge CEs for the Wave 3 DPS. Arash took out Wave 1 obviously. Nowadays, I still use Kscope occasionally on supports that lack charge in difficult quests that need their NPs immediately. For example: Tamamo, Nobukatsu, and Level 1 Chen Gong. Or maybe you need their NPs on Turn 1 but their battery on Turn 2. Basically, Kscope has become niche and Black Grail is both OP and used everywhere.
Tbh quick doesnt really needs it, considering Oberon and summer skadi make it very easy to work with 50% Ces, specially since damage wise quick isnt dependant on Bg most of the time

I only use my BG on melusine or someone like archer jeanne because she overloops all the time and has crap damage. My Kscope is really only used for supports on boss stages or cq's to get like merlins np up right away or something. To be honest, I get way more use out of the bunyan ce or the new year arts ce (that makes looping way easier). However, if you are new get the kscope, if you know what you are doing, get BG.
while i can see where you are coming from it depends on how long you have been playing. If you are just starting Kscope is just the better option because early game NPs are valuable and black grail just is a bigger demerit than a benefit and just not that necessary early game. later on when you have a way more built account then black grail becomes better.
Real question is, how long does the ticket last in your inventory? Would be nice if it extended all the way to summer, one never knows if you gotta get the CE you were aiming for, while pulling for Summer Servants
First it was Castoria. Then all the other card types needed to compete to stay competitive. Once they found a way for buster to be able to loop; or, as that one whale stubbornly calls it, RELOAD - it was time for everyone to be able to loop WITHOUT the use of kscope.
I have an mlb black grail plus 2 extra copies. Meanwhile ive been sitting at 4 kscopes for what feels like forever lol. This video is some great advice but i know what im doing come 7th anni.
I have all the available CEs on here at mlb except Prisma Cosmos. In fact I don't even have a single copy of it so I guess the choice is obvious... I'll take another BG!
Ive been playing FGO for years and the only CE I don’t have is K-Scope. But now idk if I even want one since I only need one more copy to MLB Formal Craft, or get a fourth copy of BG and get closer to having two MLB Black Grails 🤔
I have 2 MLB Black Grails, 1 MLB Kaleido and one non-MLB Kaleido and one MLB Prisma, while my second Prisma is missing exactly one copy to MLB. So I'm now thinking if I want to have 3rd Kaleido for fast clears or to MLB my second Prisma for CQ.
BG is only for hard hitting cq most servants can do at np1 but cq is not that often. So yep kscope is better because farming flexibility and this game is like 90% farming.
Pick black grail even if you have a mlb black grail XD. All jokes aside, black grail also scales to 2400 atk opposed to k-scope which scales to 2000 atk. Something worth considering when comparing them.
Been playing this game for a while and unfortunately only been able to acquire 1 Black Grail vs the like 7 + scopes I have. Its.... frustrating not being able to MLB Black Grail when it would be such a boon for a lot of my servants but unfortunately this is FGO, where the most we can do is just wish we would get something (or whale for it).
I've got 4 Black Grails and 4 Kscopes, so it's very tempting to get either one. I'm also just a bit hesitant to MLB Black Grail if I ever need 2 DPSes for something. Also, maybe we should bring up how Black Grail makes Oberon's third skill just ridiculously useful?
generally the only time you're going to run 2 dps' is in an event, where running 2 BGs would be a waste anyway since you should be aiming for 6ce or at least 5ce with one dps getting a bg (helpful in order to compensate for lower np levels). plus kscope doesn't give you enough damage so even buster farming comps run Cranking (50% charge) or a 50% charge event ce, so there's no competition imo, gotta get that mlb BG
Just go with BG Also another thing about Oberon is that he make 50% starting charge more useful and sometimes better than using Kscope on a buster/quick looper (I mean if you’re using Oberon in a farming team you are most likely to use swap or running a weird 90+/90++ comp anyway

hey so i have a dilemma sorta. Should I MLB my second k scope or grab another BG to further my chance at getting a second MLB BG? (I have 2 or 3 more black grails sitting) I'm tempted to get the k scope but I barely use them these days. Like would I get any added value from a second mlb BG? probably not

No joke everytime I look at my craft essence list I thank the rng gods that I by some miracle got an mlb 100 kscope and a mlb black grail (got them very early on when the gacha pool wasn't diluted). I'm lacking heavily in every other craft essence department because of some stupid bruning decisions but at least I got those 😭🙏

I wish you could pick the HP scope from this. I was at 4 on my Main JP acc and I felt betrayed when I can't get my MLB. And then almost 2 years later I still don't have MLB HP scope.
Myself, right now, for for any established accounts that lack it MLB, yeah, BG all the way. There is nothing that replaces or matches it. It is still king of the damage CEs assuming you're relying on NPs which you very often are, and even if you have it but not MLB it is worth MLB'ing, or even just raising it's level cap. Kscope is the number 2, but can creep into the number 1 for newer accounts that don't have some of the good meta support, but that's is sacrificing long term for near term, although that is of course all up to your gacha RNG luck. Kcope in these early accounts can be very useful, it just drops off as you gain 50% CEs from the events and such and start to build up your support ranks. Prisma would be my 3rd choice and the reason is because it is often not the 1st NP that is the problem, it is the 2nd and on. Charge CEs, particularly Kscope which is all charge, lose that advantage in those situations as you are often forced to use your charge skills to get a decently powerful 1st NP. You might think to substitute an NP gain CE with lower charge, but unless you're soloing, you probably not winning that math, especially as you often don't want to use support servant cards and if you need their NPs rolling you run into issues. Still, that is niche at best. It still has to be a long fight where you can't guarantee charge and where you can do a better job just by hitting harder in a shorter fight. Vol is 4th as honestly, I've had pretty much no use for it, but at least in theory it could be useful, I've just found there is always something better to use. You mention George, but most often I want him to die. He's there for 1, maybe 2 rounds at most and giving him a CE that gives his party charge is a better value most often. Which leaves the all in 3 which, yeah, they're long past their useful period, and honestly even when they were good they weren't that good even then if you had some of the powerful mixed CEs.
I agree for older accounts but newer accounts are not going to use black grail effectively so I would still tell new players get a Kscope immediate access to Np makes or breaks some runs with newbs while you can do big dmg with bg but can you transfer that dmg through three turns efficiently if not then why waste your time on it.
K-Scope's power is offering an almost-full gauge. And not much else. I still use them for my dailies, but otherwise, I choose the event CEs because it powers up more than the gauge.
Tfw i have six out of seven at MLB.... except Black Grail, which i only need one more copy to get it MLB'd... while i already have a second MLB-scope. I'll still prefer Prisma Cosmos over starting charge when not playing rushdown (*cough*SoloTamamoVsBeastIVL*cough*).
I'd go for BG. There aren't really many situations where you'd want that much starting charge and the few situations where you do want it, it's going to be on a support servant who will be just fine with copescope. While the extra damage of BG helps a lot in CQs and farming, I would only recommend Kscope if you just started and don't have any of the good supports, loopers or staple CEs (Cranking, Christmas, Ocean flier)

Free pick waver or tamamo. Aoe farmers everywhere you can max level like Valkyrie sisters or the ruler. Xuu fuu who with a friend castoria gets you to 100 charge with black grail on top of that ssr pick getting plug suited in if you somehow can't get the refund with this set up.
Kscope literally has no place for this unless you wanna do a quick or buster build and beginners would see the writing on the wall how bad of an idea that is without summoning vitch or Oberon themselves same with skadi while arts you have more options than I can list

Plus whoever gets kscope will immediately regret it when the boss is still alive and you could refund np on base not needing kscope in the first place.
Black Grail is a much better meta pick, but I think a lot of people overlook just how much flexibility a K-Scope still gives for comfortably min-turning nodes outside 90+/90++ (which is still a thing). The really big difference there is appends usually making a single K-Scope good enough for that, but being able to pull it off without a lored append 2 is still often really useful.
Personally the decision's pretty easy, since I already have a maxed BG, while I've rolled a total of 2 Scopes *ever* between two accounts with ~7 years of combined play time. (Of course I MLBd Great Marshal of Magic within 6 months of it releasing.)
Thing is, we have so many good free 50% charge CEs that it doesn't really matter, new players aren't doing to be lacking in battery either when they have Free Waver, Xu Fu and can borrow Castoria
Lores are so plentiful that append 2 on useful servants isn't really a downside assuming you're not addicted to max skilling a ton of random servants. I'm sat with dozens of lores just waiting to be used because I only max skill someone when I have an immediate need, you know?

well, early fgo people didn't really know how to direction of the game would be going, now we could get a CE that gives you 25% bond gain but reduces every team member base HP to 1 and it would be the best CE in the game.
before the meta was 3 charge CES since there was no reason for 6-slot since there was nothing to 6-slot with you just had like 2 Bond bonus CE even after a long time.
and even then there was no way for you to use BG, only some servants like Paracelsus and Nitocris had the charge to use it.

Pick whatever your team needs, it might not be the best 5* CE but if it helps your team better than a Black grail, then get a copy of Kscope/Volumen. even more so for F2P/new players who cant really afford to utilize the maximum potential of a BG, just get a Kscope, its a no brainer.
As for Veteran players, if you are 1 copy away from MLB BG, get it, no compromises but if youre still far away from it, just get whatever your team needs (Kscope, Volumen), theres going to be a return of the Golden SUMO CE sometime in the near future and its a great fucking alternative to BG.
I'd argue if you're 2 or 3 copies of BG in, I'd still suggest getting BG. The attack value from the extra 20 levels is worth it for the DPS you're using it on.

It depends on how you interpret it. You can either interpret it like you do, in which case your statement is true or, you can interpret it like "you click the battery only if you have 20 stars to be able to NP" (in which case your statement is still true xD). But yeah, better be aware of that!

While I agree that blackgrail is the best choice most of the time, if you are someone who predominantly quick loops or does buster farming and doesn't like to use plug, even a single kscope can be a gamechanger. I regularly use mine when farming with morgan and Ereshkigal.

Many DPS has batteries now which makes the 50% NP battery CE's + bonus effects much practical. I now mostly use K-scope for Caster Tamamo now cause it allows her to do back to back NP that or with OG Merlin.

The Morgan variation is my go-to Challenge Quest comp, and putting Prisma on Castoria and Morgan helps a lot with consistency regardless of whatever the gimmick is (I don't have Merlin and always use a Friend's RIP).

If you want an understanding of how big kscope is early game, check how many friend requests you get by placing it in your supports.
I was gonna say that people should at least get 1 Kscope, but even nowadays I rarely use it, even when I'm not 6CE farming events. The current event in NA I just use Ocean Flyer or First Day of Filiming for my DPS.
An argument can be made that early accounts would want a Kscope. And I say yeah sure. Just 1 is enough tho. MLB Kscope seems like an unecessary luxury now, especially when append skills exist. Also Lasangle has been less stingy with the Crystallized Lore so getting to Append Lv. 10 is much more accessible now
I still use Kscope. I still need it for my level 1 Gong, esports George, and other servants that don’t work in Arts or Caster Artoria teams.
I've been playing FGO for around 3 years, and so far I've only managed to get one Black Grail, the most I could replace it with would be with Heavens Fell, which even in MLB still gives 10% less damage, so I agree with always going by Black Grail.
With an MLB Kscope you can run 3 turns with just a single Castoria. Babygirl I will never let you go

@@GS_CCC yeah I like being able to use my entire roster and making unique teams, instead of sticking with the same meta double Castoria/Koyanskaya/Skadi systems. Kscope enables that in a way BG can't, thus I use it much more.
I use 1 castoria and bride nero if I'm doing levels with no support allowed and I can usually loop but it depends on the dps.
I use Gong. There were a couple of times where I wished I had MLB Kscope for Nightingale Santa or Lanling (NP1) to NP chain with Gong. Happy that I finally managed to get MLB Kscope with this ticket. Also already got MLB Black Grail so it helped to simplify the decision.

I think the main difference maker is now the better CE choice is determined by how fresh your account is.
A kscope on a newer account with no supports is going to be more useful for more of what they will be doing for a long while than Black Grail (which could actually work against them for a super fresh account).
On the other hand, a long time account - even just a f2p with maybe a good support from GSSRs - will not likely be wanting for upfront NP charge, and the Black Grail would be far more useful.
New accounts are better with black grail too.

Plus new accounts if they somehow get a ssr like SIbuki space Ishtar or s kama they'll be in for a rude awakening with how low their damage is at np 1. It's honestly a old mentality to try and think kscope is good for new accounts too.
It's honestly just holding players back with a crutch and getting punished when the enemy waves get too bulky to handle. Better to get black grail and start learning how to farm or get your batteries up for smart plays instead.

I have like 4 f2p acc (3 jp and 1 na), 2 of the already in more advance stat while the others are basically still freshly new, and from what i experience, even with the free SSR ticket which you can choose between waver or tamamo for farming reason, xufu, and some free welfare, it still pretty hard to farm without a big NP charge ce.
One of the big reason is the material source for upgrade the servant skill. Servant's skill level also have a big impact on loop farming, and you cant expect a newcomers to actually can max level all of them on their early play.
The other reason are as free as the welfare and the event ce, they unobtainable due to the time schedule event or that 1 item that you can only obtain by playing the event, leveled up servants, or play the main quest (i forget what it call, but it was something that been used to exchange old welfares).
Also expecting for a new players to get a top tier limited loopers that can only be rolled if their banner available on their early play is way worse than expecting them to get kscope which it can spook them many time.
For me, it was way easier to just kscope with multiple AoE DPS rather than actually trying to loop with only 1 DPS on my early play.
But then again, this is just my opinion as an f2p so it could be different for those non-f2p players.

@@GS_CCC first of all, habenyan is locked until you finished lb6, so if you already finished lb6 you wouldnt call yourself as a newcomers.
Second, even if you can somehow roll for her, you need like a ton of FP to be able to NP5 her, which is really hard for a newcomers to get that much unless they are really lucky getting NP5 of her with a few FPs.
Third, damage isnt important to newcomer, what they need to do isnt seeking for a higher damage but more stabil farming team. They didnt have to force themself to farm at 90+ or even 90++ cuz they basically still new. Lvl 90 nodes are enough for them to start the game.
Unless you trying to speedrun the game.
Edit: oh, another thing, being a newcomers means that they have less materials to level up, meaning that even if they manage to get habenyan, that doesnt mean they can max out her 2nd skill instantly.
i still use sup-kscope for casual free quest node farming for my Bunyan. basically waves 1 and 2 are covered by Bunyan and Habertrot/Douman/Nitocris and wave 3 is main dps with buffs from subbed in support after habertrot death if needed (node dependant). Using scopes reduces skill clicks to get nps going and I dont have to worry about buff stacking for typical 3 turning with castoria/koyan systems. and of course using the 3 servants with full charge (douman requires append 2) aoe nps allow me to stack more bond/exp ces.
Been playing ever since the frst Nerofest in NA, I only got my first MLB Kscope this year, with my final BG copy being garanteed this anni so I'm 100% picking that and I can finally meme with Black grail after 5 years WOO.
I put Prisma Cosmos on Asclepius a lot because oftentimes you bring him for longer fights and for those longer fights he sort of needs to be consistently getting his NP off, I feel like if you were using Mash though you’d also want it especially if you’re using pre LB mash because her np gain is deplorable except if she has one skill but also I don’t even feel like that’s necessary now given she’s probably going to be paired with Castoria who just gives out 30% gain team wide frequently and has an np gain buff.
I have an MLB of everything but Formal Craft (but I need 2 more) and Kscope. Took 5 years but I can finally get MLB Kscope and max the level out but yeah, likely will still continue getting way more use out of my MLB Black Grail.
Kscope for new players is great because they don't have supports so getting to NP is rough is the only big reason to pick it. That and some loopers still require kscope or superscope, but that's if you're using Gorgon and such and just not trying to do 90++ or 90+ in some cases.
If you have Castoria and don't have MLB black grail it isn't even close, it's the pick. I have MLB black grail +1 spare so I'm getting the kscope since I have an MLB cosmos already and while a 2nd would be nice, I just want to have at least one superscope on the account since I have 3 kscopes now.
One thing to note, volumen has a counterpart in the gacha in under the sun. Does the same thing except instead of invincibility it's evade and damage cut instead of damage plus. Only other tiny difference is it's split stats on sun while all HP on volumen.
I was originally going to pick BG because I was short of 1 to MLB, and was the only of those CEs I had yet to MLB, but early this year, I got it. I think I can work on a second MLB Scope then. The rest are already MLBd, including two Volumen.

I think your right but only for a well developed account. I remember for the longest time getting hard carried by kscope Hans to pop the healing instantly while never having a chance to really utilise my BG this was during Skadi and I didn’t really have a unit worth using BG on. Now I have a lot of choices for BG but not having kscope makes early game hell.

Let's all be honest. Kscope was only good for the quick meta and even then you better hope you had it mlb which was expensive.
Even back then people I knew were getting BG prepared for much later gameplay knowing something would change and when it did it's now way better in general
I got lucky to have mlb black grail early myself but I hardly use it as I like to bond up for everything to make my ap worth it most. Black grail comes out when I need something to explode like boss battles
That's also why quick and buster have such limited farmers that arc for example needs this to just keep up on damage while arts it's the best option on more than 100 chargers and okitan Karen quick units. Can't be used on normal teams due to the higher investment but again that loops back around to why quick fell off hard as it was expensive to begin with.
But I'm getting another prisma cosmos as I'm tired of looking for a Merlin or castoria with one.
It only went down in value because there's too many ways to fuel refunds and if they have their own battery to supplement it further, but for the one-use Servants like that chinese demo man it's there to enable them then be discarded afterwards.

it allowed you to use chargeless servants to farm without waver + a 50 charge aoe or Helena in your comp.
if anything it got a bit worse with skadi since you could replace it in most cases with magical girl sapphire, a CE 100 times easier to obtain MLB since it was from rate up gacha not full random, with skadi you could replace a CE, before you needed another comp.
Kscope was amazing for 3 turning pre-Skadi. Waver's 20% AOE and 50% ST NP battery meant that Kscope's 80% starting charge was great for Wave 2, and I'd use one of the rare 50% starting charge CEs for the Wave 3 DPS. Arash took out Wave 1 obviously.
Nowadays, I still use Kscope occasionally on supports that lack charge in difficult quests that need their NPs immediately. For example: Tamamo, Nobukatsu, and Level 1 Chen Gong. Or maybe you need their NPs on Turn 1 but their battery on Turn 2.
Basically, Kscope has become niche and Black Grail is both OP and used everywhere.
Tbh quick doesnt really needs it, considering Oberon and summer skadi make it very easy to work with 50% Ces, specially since damage wise quick isnt dependant on Bg most of the time

I only use my BG on melusine or someone like archer jeanne because she overloops all the time and has crap damage. My Kscope is really only used for supports on boss stages or cq's to get like merlins np up right away or something. To be honest, I get way more use out of the bunyan ce or the new year arts ce (that makes looping way easier). However, if you are new get the kscope, if you know what you are doing, get BG.
while i can see where you are coming from it depends on how long you have been playing. If you are just starting Kscope is just the better option because early game NPs are valuable and black grail just is a bigger demerit than a benefit and just not that necessary early game. later on when you have a way more built account then black grail becomes better.

First it was Castoria. Then all the other card types needed to compete to stay competitive. Once they found a way for buster to be able to loop; or, as that one whale stubbornly calls it, RELOAD - it was time for everyone to be able to loop WITHOUT the use of kscope.

I have 2 MLB Black Grails, 1 MLB Kaleido and one non-MLB Kaleido and one MLB Prisma, while my second Prisma is missing exactly one copy to MLB. So I'm now thinking if I want to have 3rd Kaleido for fast clears or to MLB my second Prisma for CQ.
BG is only for hard hitting cq most servants can do at np1 but cq is not that often. So yep kscope is better because farming flexibility and this game is like 90% farming.
Pick black grail even if you have a mlb black grail XD. All jokes aside, black grail also scales to 2400 atk opposed to k-scope which scales to 2000 atk. Something worth considering when comparing them.
Been playing this game for a while and unfortunately only been able to acquire 1 Black Grail vs the like 7 + scopes I have. Its.... frustrating not being able to MLB Black Grail when it would be such a boon for a lot of my servants but unfortunately this is FGO, where the most we can do is just wish we would get something (or whale for it).
I've got 4 Black Grails and 4 Kscopes, so it's very tempting to get either one. I'm also just a bit hesitant to MLB Black Grail if I ever need 2 DPSes for something.
Also, maybe we should bring up how Black Grail makes Oberon's third skill just ridiculously useful?
generally the only time you're going to run 2 dps' is in an event, where running 2 BGs would be a waste anyway since you should be aiming for 6ce or at least 5ce with one dps getting a bg (helpful in order to compensate for lower np levels).
plus kscope doesn't give you enough damage so even buster farming comps run Cranking (50% charge) or a 50% charge event ce, so there's no competition imo, gotta get that mlb BG

What is better with Oberon, a level 100 heavens feel or a level 20 black grail?
Myself, right now, for for any established accounts that lack it MLB, yeah, BG all the way. There is nothing that replaces or matches it. It is still king of the damage CEs assuming you're relying on NPs which you very often are, and even if you have it but not MLB it is worth MLB'ing, or even just raising it's level cap. Kscope is the number 2, but can creep into the number 1 for newer accounts that don't have some of the good meta support, but that's is sacrificing long term for near term, although that is of course all up to your gacha RNG luck. Kcope in these early accounts can be very useful, it just drops off as you gain 50% CEs from the events and such and start to build up your support ranks. Prisma would be my 3rd choice and the reason is because it is often not the 1st NP that is the problem, it is the 2nd and on. Charge CEs, particularly Kscope which is all charge, lose that advantage in those situations as you are often forced to use your charge skills to get a decently powerful 1st NP. You might think to substitute an NP gain CE with lower charge, but unless you're soloing, you probably not winning that math, especially as you often don't want to use support servant cards and if you need their NPs rolling you run into issues. Still, that is niche at best. It still has to be a long fight where you can't guarantee charge and where you can do a better job just by hitting harder in a shorter fight. Vol is 4th as honestly, I've had pretty much no use for it, but at least in theory it could be useful, I've just found there is always something better to use. You mention George, but most often I want him to die. He's there for 1, maybe 2 rounds at most and giving him a CE that gives his party charge is a better value most often. Which leaves the all in 3 which, yeah, they're long past their useful period, and honestly even when they were good they weren't that good even then if you had some of the powerful mixed CEs.
Not always the case. Super Orion has no use for it as an example, so he'd rather use Holy Night Supper, Victor of the Moon or Hot Springs of the Moon.
I agree for older accounts but newer accounts are not going to use black grail effectively so I would still tell new players get a Kscope immediate access to Np makes or breaks some runs with newbs while you can do big dmg with bg but can you transfer that dmg through three turns efficiently if not then why waste your time on it.
I have 2 kscopes and 2 BGs so this one is extra hard for me. It’s a harder choice than GSSR.

K-Scope's power is offering an almost-full gauge. And not much else.
I still use them for my dailies, but otherwise, I choose the event CEs because it powers up more than the gauge.
Tfw i have six out of seven at MLB.... except Black Grail, which i only need one more copy to get it MLB'd... while i already have a second MLB-scope.
I'll still prefer Prisma Cosmos over starting charge when not playing rushdown (*cough*SoloTamamoVsBeastIVL*cough*).

I'd go for BG. There aren't really many situations where you'd want that much starting charge and the few situations where you do want it, it's going to be on a support servant who will be just fine with copescope. While the extra damage of BG helps a lot in CQs and farming, I would only recommend Kscope if you just started and don't have any of the good supports, loopers or staple CEs (Cranking, Christmas, Ocean flier)
shit, this actually saved me from making a mistake. i've been so focused on trying to get an mlb kscope for so long i forgot that i don't really need it as badly anymore with appends
