      That’s the Hamsa
      13. Hamsa: The Hand
      The Hamsa, a symmetrical image of a palm with an eye in its center, is common to many cultures, including Judaism. There are those who question whether it is a legitimate Jewish symbol, and many people refrain from wearing the Hamsa or hanging it in their homes.
      The Ben Ish Chai (Rabbi Yosef Chaim of Baghdad, Sephardic leader of the 19th century) notes that there is a custom to say “Hamsa” (which means “five” in Arabic) to ward off the evil eye, and explains that that is why many wear a little hand of five fingers with the letter “hei” (whose numeric equivalent is five) written on it. Apparently, he did not consider it a problem.
      It is important to keep in mind that the Talmud says the evil eye only affects you if you place importance on it and worry about it. If you ignore it, the evil eye does not affect you at all.

    Absolutely beautiful. Such an inspiring message. With the recent rise of anti-Semitism in the US I have told my Jewish brothers and sisters that it is time to stop playing nice. Assimilation and pandering has gotten us nothing but slaughtered. It is time to find strength and be assertive towards our enemies. As Jews we have done a horrible job at educating the public on who the Jew really is. Society is obsessed with us. It is time to fulfill peoples curiosities about the Jew by speaking up and educating them. No more sitting in quiet frustration. We need to address the lies and the conspiracy theories as they arise. Sometimes imposing a feeling of embarrassment is the best way to change a person’s heart. The facts are on our side.

      The main problem is that every one in this world thinks that he is perfect and that he is 100% innocent and all the others who don't 100% agree with him are savages and brutals, the humanity doesn't need education only but also need to talk so every one can express his feeling, his problems, his fears, his interests, only at this point there will be no reason for violence because all problems will be solved peacefully in a civilized way

      They're poorly educated in such things or have been straight up lied to Yoni Katz. I've seen this rise as well from a Ben Noach stand point. The Christian Nationalists don't like us either. They misinterpret Talmudic teachings, as well as Tanakh of course. Then they turn their butchered english verses into memes. I don't think we will ever be able to talk it out when these people are so brainwashed. Many foolishly believing old NSDAP propaganda or something akin to "Hitler was a good guy". Then they throw out a few unverified documentaries as some "proof" smh. I've noticed these Christian Nationalists really love their fantasies and rabbit holes that go nowhere.

    • @yonikatz3513
      @yonikatz3513 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@shawnwatson1419 This is true. The evangelicals are only friendly to Jews because they want to convert us. Their friendship is deceptive. When presenting facts to black and white supremacists regarding Jewish identity they either disregard the facts or make even more conspiracy theories to validate their incorrect beliefs. I saw a video on TH-cam of a black Hebrew Israelite harrassing two Jewish women and calling them white and fake Jews. He asked them how they can prove their identity. They said through genetic testing. The black supremacist’s response was, “DNA teating is faulty.” 🤦🏻‍♂ I spoke with another man who said Ashkenazi Jews are white Europeans who converted to Judaism and do not originate from Israel. I told him that my DNA teat results showed that the DNA from my Jewish mother’s side was 100% Jewish with 0% European admixture. His response was that all of the DNA testing companies are owned by Ashkenazi Jews who deliberately doctor the test results to push the lie that they come from Israel. There really is no reasoning with these people. It is time for Jews to return home or find friendlier countries to move to. I recently moved from the US to Taiwan. They love Jews here. Israel was my second choice. It has been 2,000 years since the diaspora. It is time to accept the fact that Western society will never accept us. Let us remove our graces from these countries and see how they fare. It is time to take care of our own. No more integration. It is time to be strong and defend ourselves. What do we mean when we say “never again”? Begging for mercy will not work. Peace through strength works. It has been working for Israel. Am Yisrael chai. 🇮🇱

      A question to Rabbi Tovia Singer & all???? Moved by lust at the sight of her, King David called for Bathsheba to be brought to him and slept with her. David committed adultery with a married woman called Bathsheba, wife of Uriah. what's more, David murdered Uriah by proxy by ordering all of Uriah's comrades to abandon him in the midst of battle, so that he ended up getting killed by an opposing army. The Prophet Nathan was sent by God and warned King David. well, Torah verses clearly say that both URIAH and DAVID Blessed by GOD.
      Well, the question is, if Uriah, David and Bathsheba go to heaven. To whom will Bathsheba be given?

    Rabbi Singer, I don't think you have hit the Jacob and Esau story, but would love to hear it. Especially in relation to christianity's doctrine of predestination (Jacob I loved, Esau I hated). I'm an ex christian and have to admit your teaching fascinates me. I've never heard the Jewish take on the story and this story tortured me for years given it's deterministic nature. Keep on teaching. It's nice to see christianity in the past few years getting plenty of "wood shed" moments. Hopefully it will one day get the name it's earned, a cult.

      The real difference between Jacob and Esau was Jacob’s concern to develop goodness further, versus Esau’s goal of transforming bad into good. Esau was the kind of man who struggles with evil in all its forms and-ideally-conquers it. He had this transformative quality from before birth: while still in womb he struggled to emerge when his mother passed an idolatrous temple, because he wanted to change it from bad to good. Then, as two youths, while Jacob stayed in a tent studying Torah, Esau became a hunter, a man of the field, because he wanted to conquer the negativity of the “outside” and transform it into good. This is a highly commendable path, and his father Isaac saw it as ultimately reaching higher than the path of Jacob. However, unfortunately, although Esau began in a positive way, eventually he succumbed to evil: instead of transforming it into good, it overcame him and he became evil himself. Consequently, his ultimate transformation to good has to come through his brother Jacob. At the same time, Jacob himself later incorporated the path of transformation.

      @@hrvatskinoahid1048 doesn't all that explanation take away from Romans 9 declaring "before they were born or had done good or evil so gods purpose in election might stand" (very rough quote)?
      I've heard most every explanation given to somehow make god seem fair, but they all seem weak and over complicated. Look at the word in Hebrew and Greek used for god hating Esau. Even William Lane Craig in the book The Only Wise God cried Uncle on Esau. I understand the tension people like to believe in between free will and election, but it doesn't seem to exist in scripture. Gods plan was to hate Esau and that runs directly contrary to John 3:16 which was the christian war cry in the 90s. If gods not the author of confusion then somebody else wrote that book. Also I beleive in Malachi is where God declares Esau's inheritance was left to jackals. It sucks to be Esau. Jacob was just as sorry. In the end we could all be a Jacob or Esau depending on gods eternal plan. What happened to a simple plan so easy a child could understand? I didn't see this different as a child and see no reason to change views. This is the main subject that I renounced christianity over. I just don't see a way for it to be true and God keep the character to which most people ascribe to him. (sorry for long windedness)

      @@johnloftin2461 The New Testament is not the word of God. Free will is granted to all people. If one desires to turn to the path of good and be righteous, the choice is his. Should he desire to turn to the path of iniquity, the choice is his. This is the intent of the Torah's statement: "Behold, man has become like the Unique One among us, knowing good and bad" (Genesis 3:22). This teaches that humankind was made singular in the world, in that a person can, on his own initiative, objectively think about and know what is good and what is bad, and then choose to act according to his own will.

    2- The second woe against Assyria:
    The prophet previously spoke of Assyria's military strength, might, and victory even over the people of God. He also affirmed that what befell the people was by divine permission for chastisement, but Assyria magnified itself against God, and by this victory, it was only that He defeated the God of this people and humiliated them... That is why the Lord returns and chastises Assyria, His exalted self and arrogant.
    The prophet Isaiah used to speak boldly and frankly, while he calls Assyria the rod of God's wrath and their rod is the Lord's wrath [5] because Assyria is a tool for the fulfillment of the Lord's chastisement, we find him calling God's people a "hypocritical nation" and "a people of God's wrath" [6], because this people bore The image of worship from the outside, while corruption spread in their inner lives. This is what prompted him to call the people with hateful names, and to declare that God would hand them over to Assyria for plunder and booty, so that the Assyrians would trample them with their feet, so that they would be trampled like the mud of the alleys... He who belittles the holy life in the Lord will only surrender his life to corruption and waste, and collapse to be ridiculed by the enemy of good and trample him under his feet.

    I like your videos and your ideas but considering the Jewish problem, every thing in this world has a reason, political, economical, social or historical, the problem started with Christianity because the Christians think that jews were the reason for the crucifixion of Jesus and one of the reasons that caused their Persecution in the Roman empire, the church in later centuries used this idea as a scapegoat to blame the jews for all political, social, economical problems during the medieval period and until the modern Era like how the extreme right wing politicians are blaming immigrants and minorities for the political, economical and social problems, during the last two centuries some Christians started to think about approaching a new understanding of the Bible based on the second coming of Jesus christ by helping jews returning to the holy land and the Rebuilding of the temple which also considered by some jews to be the way for the coming of their messiah that idea became zionism and led to the creation of Israel and jews from all over the world started moving to it , but surprise the holy land had inhabitants and they call that place their home, so that inevitably led to conflict in which both sides used violence and both sides suffered losses and with each loss comes more anger and more extreme right wing propaganda that totally dismisses the other side and leads to more violence and the only way to solve this problem is to achieve a peaceful fair settlement that make the life of both sides secured and prosper and respects the religious beliefs of them, only at this point no one will have any reason to hate anyone

      @@captinkidd1 The authenticity of Moses is based on the public revelation at Sinai: God revealed Himself to the entire nation of Israel, at least three million people, and proclaimed before them the Ten Commandments. The entire Jewish people personally experienced that revelation, each individual in effect becoming a prophet, and each one verifying the experience of the other. With their own eyes they saw, and with their own ears they heard, as the Divine voice spoke to them, and also they heard God saying, "Moses, Moses, go tell them the following ..." They did not receive the occurrence of that event and accept it as some claim or tradition of an individual, but they experienced it themselves. That public revelation, therefore, authenticated the bona fide status of Moses as a prophet of God, and the Divine origin of the instructions he recorded in the Torah. That, and that alone, is the criterion for the belief in, and acceptance of, Moses and his teachings.

    Tovia, we can now prove with the blood types today that people with Rh Posirive blood are not full human (1.5% Resus monkey hence the Rogham shot for pregnant women) and that there was some genetic engineering in our past. Since G-d has specific Laws against mixing species, according G-d's Law who is responsible for this and what are the consequences?

    • @deborahfreedman333
      @deborahfreedman333 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just because we share gene with other primates, doesn't mean the species have mixed, but rather they descended from a common ancestor. The same protein that causes orgasms, labor and milk let-down (oxytocin) is also responsible for apical dominance in plants. That doesn't mean mammals have bred with plants. The protein that allows the placenta to fuse with the maternal blood supply (and thus allows for placental mammals) was captured from a virus. That doesn't mean mammals and viruses have mated. I'm Rh-, and take umbrage at your insinuation that my Rh+ children are not fully human.

    What do you mean by "those who converted disappeared" There are Jewish church leaders who's children continue in Christianity. Could you further explain?
    Yeshua (Tribe of Judah) came first for the Jews. Some accepted his Messiahship and others didn't. There was no such thing as "conversion". The Jews who believed Yeshua was the Messiah continued to Spread the message of the Messiah to the rest of the surrounding nations.
    At that time, "Christianity" was simply a "sect" of judaism. The term christian was a later title that came in, and the debate of who the Messiah is, still continues today in Jewish circles.

    Hi Tovia, come to Indonesia again, I welcome you here :)
    But I disagree with the 'laor goyim' light to the gentiles (nations)
    Light to the nations on Isaiah 42 refers to Muhammad (Ahmad) ד‎מ‎ח‎א‎ [Isaiah 42:1]. It clearly states the inhabitant of Kedar and Mount Sela which is in Madinah
    And for Light to the nations on Isaiah 49, it refers to Jesus Christ. [Isaiah 49:8] stated clearly the name of Jesus (Yeshua) יְשׁוּעָ֖ה
    Both of the Light of nations (leor goyim) always refers to His beloved, Muhammad and Jesus

      @@hrvatskinoahid1048 No he doesn't. The scholars say that Maatthew 28:19 is added later, not in the original form. Jesus always says that Father is greater than all. He says 'Father' (not literally father) which refers to the true God. Even though this verse is right, it is not ask the follower to worship the trinity.
      I agree with you, that trinity is idol worship, but in fact, Jesus never ask the follower to worship him. He asked to worship the true GOD, the GOD of Abraham, Moses, David.
