I also feel the headless guitar comment. I love it! Except mine was a super cheap DIY kit I built, so in no way is it even superior to the cardboard box that it came in, and that's why I love it! Super cheap, lightweight, and like me, looks like shit!
Thank you! I'm such a huge Randy fan (he's pretty much the reason I started playing guitar), it actually hurt to make that joke haha. But nothing/no one is off limits. And that's hilarious about the headless. I bet the kit was fun to put together

From mine to yours haha. When I first got my Jackson Dinky (with the Floyd), it took me FOREVER to get the thing in tune. Fix one string, another goes out of tune. It's maddening! haha
That was a hard joke for me to tell. Randy's my all-time favorite and the reason I started playing in the first place. But nothing/no one is exempt from getting roasted by me haha - not even the GOAT
@MusicBSharp Very Dave Chappelle/Sarah Silverman/Anthony Jeselnik of you; nothing is off limits for good comics. Feel free to go after me and bougie Custom Warmoth strats in Part 2. That's right, I make my own strats because Fender, G&L, Schecter(80s), Anderson, Pensa, Suhr, Nash, LsL, Tuttle, Danocaster, Shabazz & FSC can't build a strat as well as I can!🍷🧀🍷🧀🍷🧀
Believe me, never have employees rushed up to an a potential customer in a Guitar Center maybe after an hour and a half, and then they act like you’re an imposition on their time.
I had an employee at GC one time tell me, "touch that guitar and I'll kick your ass!" I don't think he could, but I'm a peaceable man. Never went back to GC.
Yep! Had to beg a kid working at GC to climb the ladder to bring down a nice Fender Jazz Bass I was interested in buying. Then had to beg him to go back up the ladder and bring down the really nice StingRay I wanted to compare it against. Then I demanded to see the manager so I could buy the Fender Jazz from the one guy in the store that might actually care about selling anything.
I can see now how I chose my first guitar, a Mustang, to demonstrate how quirky, free and non-conformist I thought I was by not following in the hoofsteps the bleating strat herd. But that was when I was young and foolish and knew nothing of the world. I just this week bought a Tele. I'm now of an age where I have more past behind me than future ahead and I want the old days back. The future is complicated and alarming, whereas my blonde and black American Made 52 "Vintage" tele is, for me, a talisman of simpler times when everything was as it should be. It''s as safely traditional as it gets - I fear change!... ;-)
I am an oddball, I did buy my mustang and Jaguar because of Kurt and yes, I did kurt mod both of them. I was looking for a good sounding guitar in july 2003 and came across the old nevermind album so I thought back to the Competition mustang with the hot rail pickup in the bridge and his Jaguar from seeing him live. I ended up buying a used Competition mustang from my neighbor back in october that year. I probably should have mentioned the Jaguar 1st since I bought it in august 2003 but I wasn't done modding it till january 2004. the mustang only took a few days since all I had to do was throw a black hot rail in there. I bought a super distortion DiMarzio pickup for the bridge and I think I took a neck pickup from my then half destroyed 1964 SG because my friend accidentally knocked it off my guitar stand it was hanging on. the bottom of the SG split in a weird way but beyond that, I put the neck pickup in there and took the bridge from the SG as well to replace the terrible Jaguar bridge, pretty much kurt modding until I got to the 3 switches in which I never swapped out but I really don't care. I continue to use that same jaguar all the time, I eventually sent in my SG to a luthier to see if I can have it repaired and managed to get it back sometime in between october to november 2016 it was gone for close to 8 months at the time and now have a nearly full restored 1964 SG Custom, it's however quite apparent that there was work done on this guitar because it was swapped from a 3 pickup guitar down to a 2 pickup and the whole bottom half of the guitar snapped. I kid you not, the wiring was keeping the 2 pieces together in the SG case I sent it in. I think my jaguar was a 1975 model because of all the wear and tear on the guitar, the guy I bought it from only asked like $400 for it and one of the pickups were dead anyway, I wasn't going to use the old single coil pickups anyway so it didn't matter to me. I can't go back and look as I don't have the neck that came with the guitar on it at this time, that is currently in my parent's attic and I currently have the old mustang neck on the jaguar, Idk it just felt better. should probably mention that both the jaguar and mustang were the red variants. I liked the red headstock and I liked the Jaguar body so I mixed and matched. again, I still play this guitar to this day as my main guitar. I recommend trying this type of modding. it was way cheaper at the time I made this baby, now I think alone a jag like mine goes for 10k and like 5k for the mustang, not including the pickups and bridge so probably + $500 as well. already expensive enough as it is, though it sounds amazing. and as you said "Single Coils Are For Suckers, Real Motherfuckers Play Humbuckers" Yeah, Vintage PAF and DiMarzio Compact PAF Distortion Pickup...
Dude, this is great! A very accurate portrayal of the uninformed guitar player that is buying a guitar for ulterior motives, rather than being patient and finding the one that is truly suited for what is needed. I have fallen prey, to this unfortunate dilemma more than once. See a cool looking guitar, play it in the shop for a bit, plays ok, looks awesome, buy it. Not the proper way to buy a guitar. Thats truly rolling the dice on a gamble that will most likely be regretful. Play it, look it over for any defects or things that may be problematic. Leave it at the shop unless its truly ticking ALL the boxes. Come back in a few days, play it again and reassess initial thoughts. Many times the guitar will be not quite what first impressions were, thus saving the guilt and regret of buying a guitar that was not ideal.
Oh, totally. When I was about 20, I bought an awful, beat-up BC Rich Bich because it looked cool. And look cool was all it ever did cause I never put in the work to fix it up haha. But yeah, I agree. And thank you very much!

Well... I play an Yamaha SG, that's extra spicy, because it's not exactly a SG, it's not exactly a Les Paul and it's not at all a Gibson - because when I bought it back in the 90s it was considerably cheaper and looked cool, and that was all I cared about.
Hey, as long as it looks cool, everything else is secondary lol. Yamaha makes surprisingly good instruments. I've had a Yamaha acoustic for almost 30 years now.
I have a 32DB which I'd say it ain't a telecaster, the only thing that makes it a telecaster is the body, switches, 2 knobs, head, pick guard. The thing that makes it different is the 2 humbuckers what a 8 mod that you can pull up and push down the knobs, it looks beautiful plus apparently it's "custom collection"
A Telecaster with 2 humbuckers? That sounds like my kind of Tele!!! I've only played regular Telecasters. I'll have to try to find a humbuckered one to try out somewhere. I bet it sounds/plays amazing
I have a diverse guitar collection (no shredders though) but all I really play are my Mexican Tele and my Gibson SG. They call to me in a way the others don't. Nothing to do with the opinions of others, I just play differently and sound better (I think) when I play them.
My Les Paul jr says im too fucking dumb to have more than one pickup. the P 90 make me noncommittal to either single coil or duel coil because the p90 sits in the middle. I want to believe less is more but I’m just stupid. I have a gibson so I can still look down on everyone elce. I have the most budget friendly gibson ever because I’m to poor to own a proper gibson.
I think you're just kidding. I hope you're just kidding. Les Paul Jr's rock and P90's are very underrated pickups. Also, the simplicity of your gear helps you to be more creative. You can focus more on your playing and practice and learn how to get more music from what you have. In the long run you'll be miles ahead of someone like me who has owned a lot of different guitars and still can't play worth a crap. I'm more distracted by the next new shiny object than I am being focused on learning to play better.
@@jimmyparris9892 Jim I am definitely kidding. My Les Paul Junior, is an amazing instrument it rocks. and plays extremely well what I like most about my Les Paul Junior is that it has one pick up and I love p-90s Ithey are my favorite pickup. I loved the video looking forward to part 2 and/or something like the acoustic version for fun - with martin, Taylor, guild ext...
Kramer...Hmm...Let me see. Ok, You're a bald headed 80's glam metal wannabe with a neon pink or yellow guitar and you put on a short waisted leather jacket with ripped acid-washed jeans. You wear a long blond or black wig that's teased and curled and windblown. And you stand in front of your full length mirror with your guitar strapped on, practicing your rock and roll stance and lip pout. And you wouldn't dream of plugging your guitar into anything but the Marshall JCM 800 4x12 that you have in your living room for all visitors to see and ask about.
@@jimmyparris9892 well you are close lol - i kind of stated what i had --- hot rod flames lol , love it and some of it is right . lol unfortunately I do not have a full length mirror I guess I need to invest . I love marshals - do not judge me lol .I do practice the stances and little things like cool little gestures while playing . honestly it is fun . i personally do not do the pout it is not a leather coat it is denim with patches lol . 🤣
@@phromic Haha. Not judging. We're birds of a feather. My first electric was a Kramer bass I bought back in the 80's, because I thought it looked so cool. It was metallic red. I still stand in front of the mirror just to make sure my guitars look good on me.
@@musicbsharp Ha ha! We have so many accents over here in the UK - and lots of British folk say guitar just the same as you do. Some do and some don't. Maybe the Boston accent has British roots - going way back?
actually, i went with ibanez cause they're cheap... now i have a bass AND a guitar... so i have options for what i still don't know how to play. learned my lesson with online guitar purchases, too... my bass, gsr200, needs a nut cause the strings have to be like 1/4" from the frets to not buzz like crazy. so, i can spend probably more than i payed for it to fix it, or likely fuck it up trying to do it myself. it looks pretty good though.
Oh jeeze, I stayed for the whole 15min and my face hurts. So as I want to be a Really Big D, I gots to get a Flying Vee! (oh wow, I think I just wrote a song. I'll be right back)...

Absolutely hilarious - thanks for that! So - just for fun: Tele - nah, not even a little bit country. Strat - yeh but made in Japan in 1980 to go with the Roland GR 300 guitar synth that Roland gave me for demonstrating their new toy - so, clearly not cool, but hey - it was free! Gibson Les Paul (1968 Custom) - I bought in 1974 for NZD 800. Still works, worth lotsa money apparently . . . so yeah, I'm cool and look down on all of you. Epiphone Les Paul - bought 2 recently to mod, Gotoh Hardware, Monty's PAFs etc. etc. Does spending the same amount as the guitar on fancy upgrades overcome the 'cheap' thing or make me an object of scorn and derision? This will keep me up at nite. Shredders & 7 Strings - nope. Gibson SG - nah. Steinberg - wouldn't mind one cos they fit into the overhead but . . . not really. Offset - WHY? And, just so ya know - I have a lovely Hofner AND a Rickenbacker Bass, does make me DOUBLY FAB? Cheers and thanks again! 😀
I don't know how I didn't see this comment sooner. Sorry for the late response. But thank you very much!!! Ah, the Rickenbacker Bass - with almost as many inputs as strings lol
Awesome, thank you! I'm an Ibanez fan myself. I have a fixed-bridge RG and an Ibanez acoustic-electric (though I couldn't tell you the model off the top of my head). Love them both. Again, thanks!!!
Well hell I dont know if I should laugh or cry cause ive got most of the guitars on this list and a few others on top too lol but one things for sure my 70s Hondo strat that I bought from an old Asian man at a garage sale for 38 bucks and change when I was a teen sure sounds and plays good haha I think I'll keep it for another 15 years or so
@aunt jenifer honestly I was very used to playing lower end guitars and I had a short in a used "dean" guitar I picked up for around 600. I had a show that night (one of the biggest in my life) and I was TERRIFIED about performing on a different guitar. The music shop nearby let me "borrow" a les paul studio. They knew what they were doing.... After hearing the gain come through that clean, crunchy, and low. I and...i feel like the guitar shop knew they would never see the guitar again. I worked two extra jobs until I paid them off

I was just going with the spirit of the article and having a little bit of fun I definitely can see why you would say what the hell is this guy crazy les Paul juniors are awesome guitars, and that they are.Jim I hope I did not annoy you to much with my sarcasm.
@@wierdlygruesomeHaha. Not annoyed at all.
Holy Shit! That was Gold. I'd like to hear your opinion on PRS and Explorer players.
Then you'll want to catch part 2 when I eventually get around to making it because I plan on including both. And thank you!
Haaaaaaa! Lordy Lordy uhh.....yeah as f***ed up as what you said is yeah you might be right.
As a les paul and rickenbacker player i agree 😂😂😂
I own half of these and really intend to have them all so that I can suck on all possible levels...
That makes two of us, my friend :)
Watched 5 minuets, shit, I can't get them back...
Dude… subscribed. Keep incinerating and roasting hahahah
I plan to. Thanks!
Emotional Damage!
Dang!!! 😅 Caught red handed! 🤣🤣🤣
This is fucking hilarious man
Thank you!
me and my Gibson Les Paul applaud you (when we're not looking down on others)
You're welcome to applaud me while looking down at me and my Mexican Strat at the same time: I don't mind haha. Thanks for watching!
Then we have the Gibson doubleneck owners… who love to tune 18 strings all day 😂
I don't remember if it was this video or the follow-up, but I definitely mention these monstrosities of an instrument somewhere lol
3 minutes in and I'm already fucking dying! This is hysterical!
im not sure how to feel. i own like 4 squiers, 2 american strats, a gibson les paul and an ESP EII HT horizon. I think it means im an asshole, is what i got?
Yeah, pretty much. But don't feel bad. I'm an asshole who owns a mix of awesome and shitty guitars, too 🤣
Do one for basses plz
I will at some point :)
Thank you for making this! 😂😂😂😂
And thank YOU for the comment and of course for watching!
LOL funny stuff. As for me, Guild S100 Polara: say Soundgarden is your favorite band of all time, without saying Soundgarden is your favorite band of all time...and I'm okay with that.
i want to ask what is Kramer then ? --- a company owned by Gibson making strats , with humbuckers -- often with silly but kind of cool art on them like hot rod flames --- what does it say about me owning one lol ? I loved the video looking forward to part 2 and/or something like the acoustic version for fun - with martin, Taylor, guild ext...
Thanks. I'm gonna make a part 2 to this someday and I'll probably do an acoustic one at some point, too.
Every time I hear a Canadian say "GItaaa" I find myself repeating it over and over😂😂...GITAAAA...love that accent..." boy"
As a Brit, it sounds exactly like how Americans say it to me...I thought he was American!
@@gazzie12000 He is. I mean: I am lol. I'm from Boston. We're known for not pronouncing our R's - and our lovely attitudes, of course!
@@musicbsharp Ha ha! We have so many accents over here in the UK - and lots of British folk say guitar just the same as you do. Some do and some don't. Maybe the Boston accent has British roots - going way back?
If he was Canadian, the video would be exactly twice as long...because he'd say "eh?" Between every Flippin word! Just kidding y'all Canuuks!
epiphone Les Paul checking in
I had a lot of fun making fun of Epiphone Les Pauls in the video. But the truth is: I owned one once and loved it. I regret selling it
it’s true. i am an awkward odd ball.
me with epiphone SG. tho imma put a bigsby on it soon so it looks cooller
I play a Martin Backpacker fitted with a Lace Alumitone humbucker and a Roland GK-3 pickup. Psychoanalyze that!😂
I built a JA kit, i dont what to feel lmao
It's kinda like do you like camaros or mustangs.
Just bought an Epiphone Les Paul lol. But I know it's all comedy. Truth is Epiphone probably has better quality control than Gibson at this point.
I owned a Epiphone Les Paul years ago and loved it. I regret selling it. I've heard a lot of people say they're better than Gibsons now.
This guy is ruthless but he does speak the truth
I gotta say I'm laughing my ass off at 1:37. Let's see if he keeps it rollin'
actually, i went with ibanez cause they're cheap... now i have a bass AND a guitar... so i have options for what i still don't know how to play. learned my lesson with online guitar purchases, too... my bass, gsr200, needs a nut cause the strings have to be like 1/4" from the frets to not buzz like crazy. so, i can spend probably more than i payed for it to fix it, or likely fuck it up trying to do it myself. it looks pretty good though.
Guilty of everything!!
I love ur videos bro u made me smile and I wanted to die like really bad before I saw ur thumbnail lifesaver fr fr🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much. Comments like yours make me wanna keep making these vids - and it put a big smile on MY face :)
Oh jeeze, I stayed for the whole 15min and my face hurts. So as I want to be a Really Big D, I gots to get a Flying Vee! (oh wow, I think I just wrote a song. I'll be right back)...
you didnt do a Epiphone SG... what does my Epiphone SG-400 say about me?
It says you don't give a crap what anyone thinks about you OR your guitar. Which, ironically, makes ME respect you... a little bit, at least! haha :)
playing any fender or gibson says "im over 50 and havent heard new music in 30 years"
ok i hand it to ya, your roasts were more cutting than i would have guessed they would be
Thank you! And I agree: Fenders and Gibsons are so 20th century lol
As a gretsch player, I enjoyed watching everyone but me get dunked on.
Don't worry: there'll be a part 2 someday and you and your Gretsch will get yours haha
Me owning a mustang and a JM signature jag😞
as an ibanezzer scrooge, i absolutely agree
Is there any good guitar?
This guy is the bomb with no cap
...and here's the loneley SG player.👋
"real motherfuckers play humbuckers".... I would buy 10 shirts with that on it.....
You're right: I gotta stop wasting time making these videos and get in the tee shirt game! Haha, kidding. I can make videos AND tee shirts at the same time!
@@musicbsharp merch is where the real money is in music 😉
Absolutely hilarious - thanks for that! So - just for fun:
Tele - nah, not even a little bit country.
As a strat enjoyer I laughed a lot))
As much as I love joking and talking trash about them, if I had to pick a single favorite guitar - in all seriousness - it would be the Fender Strat.
Hilarious! I play a Gretsch semi hollow and a les Paul Junior and I’m sitting in the front row!
I used to know someone with a Gretsch semi hollow and I loved playing that thing. Sounded amazing!
What? No blackguard Tele?
i cannot stop laughing😂😂 fucking SPOT ON! btw i am a diehard Ibanez fanboi... 🤣🤣🤣 gained a major SUB here🤘😝🤘
Awesome, thank you! I'm an Ibanez fan myself. I have a fixed-bridge RG and an Ibanez acoustic-electric (though I couldn't tell you the model off the top of my head). Love them both. Again, thanks!!!
Well hell I dont know if I should laugh or cry cause ive got most of the guitars on this list and a few others on top too lol but one things for sure my 70s Hondo strat that I bought from an old Asian man at a garage sale for 38 bucks and change when I was a teen sure sounds and plays good haha I think I'll keep it for another 15 years or so
I've got several on the list, too haha
@@musicbsharp haha I figured as much only one steeped in them could truly rip on them this hard
what does my es 335 say abt me?
You'll find out when I eventually make a part 2 someday because I plan on including them.
This guy just hates guitar player.
As a gibson les paul player...this is absolutely freaking true 😂
Did it start that way or did it end up that way ?
@aunt jenifer honestly I was very used to playing lower end guitars and I had a short in a used "dean" guitar I picked up for around 600. I had a show that night (one of the biggest in my life) and I was TERRIFIED about performing on a different guitar. The music shop nearby let me "borrow" a les paul studio. They knew what they were doing.... After hearing the gain come through that clean, crunchy, and low. I and...i feel like the guitar shop knew they would never see the guitar again. I worked two extra jobs until I paid them off
Love to hear stories like that. All the joy to you!
