Cowboys should hire Zimmer as DC. He talks to Parce's every week. Then I'd hire Belichek as a 'Consultant' all year.. Off season, pre season and the season. An 'in house' deep coaching clinic. ALL your coaches can get better FOREVER. He has the SWAG they'd be THANKFUL not resentful. And we'd be the envy of the league. Jerry's kids would get lifetime knowledge just we did when Parcels came in

Am I goofy for asking Marcus Spears to come help consult in his career between the trenches. The pros and cons playing vs some of the toughest players. Also, bringing Witten and Tony Romo as consultants would be good if they draft and sign a Chris Jones type of player to let the world know it’s serious. But please work on that Dak 🦾CD 💿 🦁 Micha. 🌓

Dan was a solid DC. He also benefitted massively from the arrival of Diggs, Parsons and Bland. His inability to figure out how to slow the run was his biggest weakness.
That was probably because Jerry continued to put undersized guys at middle linebacker. So when an O-lineman or a tigh-end got up on them, they got bullied.
Jerry did not put anyone there...the DC chose who to play there. Micah Parsons could have easily shifted over weeks ago and DQ did not do it. @@Baust_the_Gamer

Keyshawn is absolutely correct. The reason the cowboys defense struggled vs the run, was they got tired and could not execute the scheme if their offense didn't keep the ball. He made Michael Irvin look like an idiot.

Cowboy fan here. Good luck, Q. Losing Overshown in preseason probably hurt the Dallas D overall, particularly the run defense. I think he would have had an impact. Can't wait to see him on the field next season.
Overshown is built like a safety. I like him but you need thumpers at LB. We are paper thin at LB

for those who say this is gonna be a fail, I point to Josh Allen and Sean McDermott. who’s went to multiple playoffs, only can’t get past the Chiefs and Bengals. CJ Stroud and DeMeco Ryans. everyone thought 2 wins this year and they went 10-7, top of the division, #4 seed in the playoffs. Mike Tomlin is still in, hasn’t had a losing season yet, regularly makes playoffs. Just needs better QB play.
if the Commanders draft either Michael Penix or Bo Nix, with Eric Bieniemy at OC, it can 100% work.
It means you have to nail the OC. Texans got it right with Slowik and managed to hold on to him. We saw how much Hurts regressed with the departure of Shane Steichen even though everything else on the offensive side was similar.
The Bills also nailed their OC hire with Brian Daboll. They’ve still been great since he left, but Allen’s never reached the heights he did when Daboll was OC.

He makes horrible draft selections and passes up on obvious GUYS in the draft. Plus no top defender or player, since Tom left, has wanted to go to NE. Now if he did get the job in Washington, how many players would wanna stay? How many potential FA would change their minds? Then the offense he likes isn’t WR friendly. Before DQ became the DC for the cowboys they were among the worst defenses in the league. It took great drafting but a lot of credit to DQ. Watch how these cowboys miss him next season
They’re not gonna miss getting ran on and giving up 48 points vs the Packers. He was great for a min but never fixed the issues that needed to be fixed.

DQ is a good defensive coach no doubt. His defenses were very good when he had those Hall of Fame guys in Seattle and Dallas defense was horrible before Micah, Diggs, Bland, and Osa who all were drafted within the last 3 or 4 years.
DQ defenses are built to play with a lead so if your offense can not get up by a score or two your going to get ran on big time and once the play action comes into play it's going to be trouble because DQ defenses have a real issue dealing with motion.

Understand why he came into the league as a linebacker, he’s undersized compared to the likes of TJ Watt, Myles Garret. I feel like all these coordinators offensive and defensive. Leave their teams too soon for something bigger and better.
