    That’s for the video. I’m picking up the 1033 I bought Monday. I have a Delta RC-33 four post planer now that all of these planers are based on. I found it easiest to use 1/4”id x 3/8”od vinyl tubing on the top of a pointed spout gear oil bottle to fill the gear box. Just get the standard gear oil with that cap that looks like a witches hat, cut off the end, slide on about 8-10” of tubing and invert and squeeze the bottle.

      Thanks for watching! I’m sure the helical version is good too, for me it was the difference between buying two new machines or just the one. Thanks again.

      @@bakkenwoodworking6341 I totally understand. This is beautiful machine. The Helical head is such a game changer. I believe it’s biggest advance woodworking has made in quite sone time. How often have you changed blades? How hard is it? I never feel like I have them set correctly \.

    Thanks for the video. Quick question - I'm trying to understand why you had the runner with the cleat. As far as I understand it, the purpose for runners are to stabilize shorter stock (runners on the sides) or uneven faces (sacrificial sled). Both of which actually pass through the planer with the stock. Yours seemed to basically just raise the table height; what am I missing?
    - Clarification: I have seen similar runners for benchtop planers that don't have sufficiently long infeed/outfeed tables, but typically it seems the purpose for those is to extend the length of support. In this video, the runner is the same length as the table.

      Hey thanks for watching! Sure, so I have an 8” jointer so anything over 8” I run through the jointer first to make 8” flat then rest that flat 8” on the runner and push it through the planer, then flip and go through again to get rid of the un-flat section my jointer was to small to make flat. Hope that makes sense, if not let me know!

      I think it’s 2HP that being said, I’ve never had it bog down in anything. Thanks!

    What kind of dust collector? I want to get this and am wondering if their 2hp cyclone would be enough

    • @bakkenwoodworking6341
      @bakkenwoodworking6341  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine is just a regular style 1 1/2hp, so I would think it would be more than enough.

    Does it snipe?

    • @bakkenwoodworking6341
      @bakkenwoodworking6341  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience most do at least a bit. If you run pieces through the correct direction and slow I’ve been really happy with the results in everything.

      Thanks. This machine has really gotten expensive in 1 year with this inflation.
