JJ has helped me cope with my autism when I was in high school. Growing up and being in high school in the early to mid 2010s, there was very little to no representation of autism on screen and the only one you can find was on Parenthood. Everything's Gonna Be Okay has yet to air and The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime has yet to be adapted on the stage. (Speaking of Curious Incident, I felt like Christoper Boone might maybe be an inspiration to maybe JJ's character? Just a thought.) JJ felt like was the first one to make me feel represented. Especially this episode which accurately portrayed the struggles of what people with autism go through everyday.
I can relate too! Before Atypical came out on Netflix, I also binge watched and discovered Skins in high school (around mid to late-2010s). This was actually the first representation of autism I ever saw and it was a feeling that I could never feel again, since I was in awe by how accurate some of JJ's experiences were to min and perhaps to others in the spectrum.
One of the best episodes in the entire show. It is too bad that people don't give Ollie Barbieri the credit he deserves for playing such a difficult character when he was only 17 or so.
A few years ago I couldn't understand JJ's pain in trying to get his friends back together, but now sadly I do. Last summer I met some fantastic friends and unfortunately because of a girl they fought and we can't go out together anymore .. the group has broken up and I tried to solve it, but I'm afraid that nothing more can be done😔
I forgot how exceptionally well directed and orchestrated in general this scene was from the perfect music to the perfect cinematography and dialogue along with pharmacological accuracy it is just exceptionally exquisite. Please guys do another season for the 2nd generation (aka season 3 and 4, Freddie, cook, JJ, etc) they were always my favourite of all even though I enjoyed the entire series apart from the dismal movie adaptations sadly dont know what went wrong there. Peace and love from NZ 💚
How was he annoying😂😂 He literally did nothing wrong. was always walked on by his friends and Effy ruined his friendship with both Cook and Freddie and nobody truly cared for him.
Effy near ruined that kid's life by tearing apart the only real friendship group he ever had
Ya it’s fucked Freddie died Cook killed John foster and was never seen again
@@Testsubjex JJ walked out the champ. At least one of the Three Musketeers got a happy ending.
Not Telling I like to believe Cook sees Jj at least once more as an adult and they talk
I hate effy for that
She never meant any harm

JJ is so adorable, I want to hug him all the time
JJ sitting beneath a sign for coping with aspergers. Way to hit the nail on the head.
Joshua Baratheon yes thats the whole point of that scene
It wasn't exactly known for its subtlety, this show.
Cook: Mad, danger, tit
Freddie: Reserved, quiet, tall, stoned, skate
JJ: Special, GayJ, weird unusual
Loved this
Why does he call _himself_ Gay J though?
@@iliketrains3495 I think its because that is a nickname Cook has for him
Ophelia Arissa I thought he was shouting out “I’m Cock!” 😂 So Cock and Gay J

I love the shop owner in that scene. I think it’s special when different generations bond over a common interest.
Erik Satie's music made this clip beautiful... instead of creepy or depressing
Esteban Olvera both tracks are from Claude Debussy
Proyeccion Astral Producciones My mistake..thanks
They also changed the sountrack in here? 😕
Rick94rr surprisingly not in this one, is exactly the same music, maybe because is pretty necessary for the story

❤️❤️JJ is a legend
Chelsea Ward p
I relate to him the hardest. I remember i cried watching his episode for the first time because it just resonated so hard
I will do anything for another series of skins. Pls do it
As long as it isn’t total shit like gen 3
"Gay Jay, Gay Jay." (Proceeds to squeal like a little girl)
Pandora would be a good couple with him, right?
JJ's relationship wall reminds me of the relationships diagram in Diary of a WImpy Kid LOL
One of my favorite skins episodes. So moving 😢
He never decides for himself who he is
It’s crazy how JJ has friends like Cook and Freddie… but still gets bullied by younger kids…
song: clare de lune - debussy
I really want to go to that model shop 😂
How is this channel still Alive?!

Batty boy comment
Best episode hands down
One of the best chapters in Al series! 💓
Watching this again I'm wondering why he says "acknowledged" to a watch you have to physically push a button to stop beeping.
Bc Asperger's.
It’s fun! I used to do stuff like that, it made me feel like a super-spy.
9 deaths in the series. I can put more
O personagem mais querido da série inteira
I know that song with piano ( the evil within ) i miss this series 😢
First and second series were great, third and fourth were okay, then all the rest were just absolute shite
What is the music in the background of this?
Julia Miles claire de lun
claude debussy
La plus que lente -Debussy
JJ ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The shopkeeper looks familiar
Which episode is this?
Second song?

What type of watch does JJ wear?
it's a casio calculator watch! :)
I take risperidone too
Why is his face messy?
It's the beans that were on his desk in an earlier pan. They ended up on his face most likely due to his rage attack
first❤️
Most annoying character
how- he was pushed around so much by his “mates”. glad he stuck up for himself.
@@brooklyn_bellee should've left them then.
