Tier 1 cities of the country need to have Micro Cars like Nano.
Dumb people buy big SUVs and have no place to park it and no place to use its full capability and their dumbness doubles when they use it as office Commute. Cars like Nano could have been the most practical car for a country like India.
Sheep mentality and "log kya sochenge" mentality is biggest reason why we don't deserve good things in India. It is as if people care more about what other people think about them, especially the middle class of the country.
Indian middle class are those people who will spend their whole life showboating things which they actually don't own. Just so much inferiority complex among people and such an Under- confident population of a country is astounding.

The one who runs knows its importance...
from Nepal, nano was my first car. brought it in 2011 and kept it until 2020. drove it to 93000 kms. had some funny moments when all the front wheel drive cars where slipping uphill, nano simply cruised through it. could climb toughest hills on 1st gear, but couldn't keep the momentum with 2nd gear because of low torque. that was the problem for me. also very tiring to drive on highways. had to let it go because of many mechanical issues as it aged because of the two cylinder engine's high NVH level, i think. everything started to breakdown in the later years. had lots of sweet memories though.

And alto is pretty much famous in hills....we all know that...
If maintained properly tata nano is great car.. here in my place there is a 2009 nano Lx clocked more than 3 lakhs kms.. nano is great for hills ,drives better than alto.. alto's seating position is just like sitting on road..nano is better than alto in all aspects

I use Nano XTA as a city car. Drive and park like auto rickshaw anywhere. No tension of driving narrow roads in Bangalore. sufficient power for city usage. safer than scooter or motor cycle . I would buy cng nano if i get one. I agree micro car should be available for city usage .

This car has fantastic built quality. It rides well even on very very bad roads because of rear engine mount. 110kmph is top speed you will get.
He is 100% right about Micro cars. There should be 2-seater or 3-seater Micro cars with bigger wheels and less power for beginners and city drives. Make a law that it's not allowed on super highways. But allow them inside cities. People will get the experience of driving a car. Advertise that it's NOT a family car and it's strictly a city car. Reva, Nano and even Honda Brio are good examples of Micro car body sizes.

मैंने 2016 में Bangalore से Jamshedpur 2 दिन में Nano se आया था । हम लगातार 90 km/h chalte थे । Nellore में मूसलाधार बारिश में कोई trouble nahi हुआ ।
I also own a my cutie TATA NANO 2012 model , till now i run it 1 lack 80 thousand km and still , its running perfectly and still giving best performance. It have Best pickup, stable on road , easy to drive car

From Delhi, we bought the cng nano on its 2nd day of launch on dhan teras if I m not wrong , cost us around 2.9lac . We drove it at around 1.35lac kilometers. Costing less than 1.2rs. At that time too. Average was 32+ in city and 35+ at highway. I also touched 110 at max. Bt it used to be stable till 80-90km/hr but makhan boss. I used for personal use then for factory purpose later on. Once I made my 5 friends(all 5.6+ height and 70+weight and two were 90+) excluding myself, I mean we had fun at such rate. 😂 and we had ritz and wagonr too. And trust me. This car was hard to sold for me bcz of its efficacy.. 😂 Proud to be Nanoian. Qki dusare ke mazak se meri kharche ni chalnge 😅😅😅😃😃😃😃

Very sensible customer. I also think micro cars are necessary for India, SUV le te hai jo unke khud ki gali mein nai jaati, rent PE doosre jagaah garage mein khadi karte hain. Nano jis purpose se bani thi wo bilkul wajib tha but Hamare yahan ke log 8we ajoobe hai, inko nano nai chahiye, ego hurt, safe nai hai but splendor pe pati patni 2 bache bitha kar chalenge wo safe hai. Inko Ford ki shandaar cars nai chahiye, Bhai chahte kya ho.

I have a Nano Lx since 2012. This car is so much practical car for city usage. Very light on the pocket and protected my family in any weather. Very spacious inside and good legroom too. I bought a property (courtesy Nano) which nearly doubled.
I still remember those days people used to call Nano owners "Abee o lakhtakiya"

I'd say you're lucky to have a problem free Nano. I've had a 2009 nano for about a year and half, it was a nightmarish experience, scarcity of spares be it showroom, dealers, got the gasket replaced twice and despite of it the car used to still get heated up and was told that the head had some issue, replaced drive shaft twice. At last i scrapped it.
I drove 2nd hand Tata Nano for 2 years. 26+ average in petrol. Loved it. But maintenance killed the joy. Parts are too costly when it comes to engine repair. Mechanics started ignoring my calls cuz it's engine was not easily accessible. Changed to Santro 2021 and when petrol price started bothering, changed to Bolero Neo. Finally, at peace. Loving it. But still me n my wife miss Nano sometime.
Nano was a practical small car... Decent performer and AC is amazing....

Bike riding is an emotion and thrill, if you love cruising and not racing, i love long distance riding with the love of my life while enjoying the cool breeze, the full view of nature, and the mild humming of exhaust.
I am not saying bikes are better than cars, they have different purposes and people also have their own view on all the things. But i also agree that Tata Nano should be more successful, it's supposed to change the car market.
People don't like to keep nano as their first car because of prestige issue.
They like it as second Car with good mileage and low cost of running 🏃♂️

Same situation with me. I own a Hyundai Venue, but drive a second hand Tata Nano for going to office. And I really like Nano for daily drive in Delhi. Nano is not a family car, but really very good for single or two people.

I have a few expensive cars, but for my city commute, I still use Nano. Most ppl don't know its a rear wheel drive and has an amazing low end torque. I bought 2nd hand for Rs 75,000, which was driven for 11,000 kms. Very good deal.
I don't enjoy driving expensive cars in bumper to bumper traffic & spending time, finding a parking spot. Nano has an edge over all other cars, when it comes to finding parking spot.
