It's more like, would you be willing to shelter a German family who had nothing to do with Nazi atrocities if you lived in 1945 and they were on the run from Russians, who were angry because their evil leaders did bad things? There are amazing, kind people who have people from their own culture, race and religion who do evil things and they have to deal with the consequences of their evil counterpart's actions. It's never an excuse to have a family murdered because one of their own people did bad things.
The thing about your point though, is that deviance is not an issue. It simply means they've became the equivalent of a human. It is never acceptable to find a family of any species or race who have never done anything bad and gun them down. That is the fact. The guard is evil because he does this. And if the Germans would have known about the Final Solution they never would have elected him, and that said he was a liar, he tricked them out of anger and hatred from Versailles.

in my point of view, the three main androids represent a classic but strong type of character in stories: markus: the rebel who wants freedom and fights for what he believes but he doesn't want war, only justice, and freedom for him and for his people. connor: the soldier who continuously follows the rules and makes sure that the rules are obeyed and followed, however at some point he realizes that sometimes certain rules or orders must be disobeyed to do what is right, so he starts a new path of "redemption" fighting against the ones he once obeyed, trying to make the world a better place and help people (and in this case android) to have a better life. kara: the protector who fights for love, the one who does everything in her power to protect and take care the ones she loves, the one who follows her heart and only wants the best for the ones around her, even if sometimes she has to dirt her hands a little, the one who earns the respect and love of the ones around her by her actions and her strong will. 3 great kinds of great characters (that usually are complex, full of emotions and that develop over time), all represented in this game. even though the characters can vary depending on the choices you make in the game, I think that they were made to fulfill the 3 kinds of personalities that i mention and they did it damn well.
Uni Doggo that's why in my comment I wrote... "even though the characters can vary depending on the choices you make in the game, I think that they were made to fulfill the 3 kinds of personalities that I mention..." with that I meant that they won't necessarily be or represent the kind of characters that I described, but I thought that maybe they were done in such a way that they could perfectly become and fulfill the kind of characters I mentioned, considering that the game is focused on how the androids change and develop emotions and how they change to be more human-like, Connor stays obeying the rules only if you play in a way that he stays "machine" without feeling and doing everything to fulfill his mission, on the other hand, the game (despite the many options and changes that can occur thanks to the choices that you can make in the game) is about the struggle of machines to be more human, so if you play connor in a more human way, he ends up representing the kind of character I mentioned before, you are right that the characters won't necessarily be like i describe in my previous comment, but they also can be that way if you humanice them and make them "human".
That's called no choice. I think if you were them, you too want to survive. So if it's the only way to survive.. if you want to live of course you should do it.
Because sometimes there’s no choice. Either you die and let those people cross or steal the tickets and those people will be income inconvenienced. Life isn’t black and white.
Actually, if you look at his shield and the patches on his uniform, you'll see he's part of Detroit's Border Crossing agency. Either way, I like to think that this scene is reflective of how people's empathy can be a powerful force of nature.
Well actually he doesn’t. He said you helped us because she helped multiple Jerry’s. But his following sentence is “if you and the little girl need *me, I’ll* be there.” So he doesn’t talk in plural. 18:00

I love this ending. It's so damn heartwarming and the fact that Kara calls alice her DAUGHTER makes it even more heartwarming. An android family, starting a new life for their own good.
You know what this ending reminds me of? The tech demo Kara where once the guy running the tests on the android Kara things she’s defective because she feels alive, she begs him to be free and he lets her. Coincidence? I think not. 🤔
I have to admit I cried in this scene. When I first played Detroit in this scenario it was only Kara and Alice left, Luther was dead. And when I slowly moved forward i was given the option to sacrifice myself or don't. I chose not to because I didn't want to leave Alice by herself. So when I went down to the immigration officer and he scanned Kara, she suddenly just said "please... we just want to be free" and the officer looked up at the TV seeing how Marcus was peacefully protesting and sacrificing himself when the officer let us through, then all of a sudden I started crying. I was trying to go for the good ending with everyone alive, which I failed with Luther, Simon and others except the main 3. But all the hard choices I made and the mistakes I did even though I seriously wanted to have Marcus attack back. It all somehow paid off in the end and seeing just a little mercy through all the hardships just made me tear up bad. Detroit is a damn good game for me. It doesn't matter about any negative reviews this might have gotten. People should play it at least once in their lives.
when you find out about the backstory of Todd, it's heartbreaking because when you first meet him; you instantly think he is a complete asshole but over time, you learn why he bought an android that looks like his daughter Alice in first place :(

You took a leap of faith with that last answer with the guard. Maybe that's what defines being conscious, taking a leap of faith even when your logic tell ls you otherwise. Putting your faith in something other than yourself. Quite potectic considering you're an android.
5:38 As we progress more into the future and provide our soldiers with helmets that block our peripheral vision, we are increasingly becoming more tunneled visioned.
Why does it always have to be Canada, the "promised land"? Like can't it be somewhere else? Like don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome that they reached Canada, but sometimes I think they could've just changed it to like going to a different U.S state or something like, "welcome to New York", or "welcome to Montana" or something. But it's whatever I guess.
@@Danthegamer68 It doesn't really make sense-- she would still be in the US, which is cracking down on androids everywhere. It was even stated at some point in the game. Going to Canada makes more sense, not because it's a "promised land" but because A) Detroit is literally across the river from Canadian borders so it's convenient, B) it's a different country that could care less about androids, so there are no laws regarding them and they can live freely. Neither New York nor Montana border Michigan, where Detroit is located.
Holy crap, Valorie Curry is an incredible actress. Compared to the bravery of Connor and Markus, she really captures the fear that Kara has. She isn’t a fighter like the other two but her love for Alice keeps her going no matter what.
I feel bad for Todd though. He lost his jobs because of the androids and since he lost his job his wife left him for a new man I think a office worker and she took his daugther with her. He tried replacing his family with androids so he got into serious debt and became a drug addict.
This game's amazing. It first tells you the story of all the three main characters and eventually makes them meet and impact each other's storylines so much.
That ending is what makes Quantic Dream amazing. The first playthough I lost Kara, Alice and Luther in the attack on Jericho. I replayed the game again with the sole purpose of making sure Kara, Alice and Luther made it. The whole border checkpoint section had me on the edge of my seat, getting misty. I didn't want to sacrifice anybody and I was practically begging at the screen for the border agent to let them through.
I just realized something... Kara and Alice are going to die soon in Canada, there are no Biocomponents, no parts for androids, nothing. If they need to recharge or change parts. They will die.
Leonel moya I don’t think they need to replace biocomponents if they’re not damaged. They also have Rose. And if the androids got to live peacefully after this, they can easily get what they need without any danger.
I like that theyre more concerned about getting busted at the border for temp checks than they are for the loaded handgun she stuck in her waistband before getting on the bus.
This ending is actually kinda depressing when you think about it. Kara always wanted to be a mother which is why she cares deeply about Alice. But Alice is just an android, not an actual human child. Therefore she won't age and grow like an actual human. Now i'm not a parent but even i know that the best things about being a parent is watching your child grow and see them go through their various stages in life. But Kara won't be able to experience that, as Alice is forever gonna be a child-like android. Even if she somehow matures emotionally, and they upload her consciousness into different bodies, it'll still all be artificial.
Random guy with a scanner - unspoken hero of the game.

Sinister one time a Canadian dismembered somebody and made the head give him a blowjob
Well hello my fellow Canadian I am Canadian to, and Lolz I AGREE👍😂
Don't lump me in with those damn Philadelphians.
I am a Canadian and lemme tell you we are 80% dickheads
@@liaminator4950 See? A Canadian being humble.
“Welcome to Canada” the words that gave me so much relief!!!!
The moment where todd and alice hugged made me tear up, reminds me of my distance from my father...
Of course a Canadian was being kind
Voken that's also called corruption
You took a leap of faith with that last answer with the guard. Maybe that's what defines being conscious, taking a leap of faith even when your logic tell ls you otherwise. Putting your faith in something other than yourself. Quite potectic considering you're an android.
I swear I shed a tear everytime Luther dies. Well that goes for everyone that dies, but mostly Luther cuz he's such a nice person.
5:38 As we progress more into the future and provide our soldiers with helmets that block our peripheral vision, we are increasingly becoming more tunneled visioned.
i got this ending and it’s the best one you just have to be completely peaceful and everyone ends up fine
The only reason I watched this is to cheat......*don't lie I know you did too*
I just wanted to know
Suga's boo I didn't do that...
i watched this because i didn't even own this game ._.
do we all exist? Same
Naw man, I went in only knowing the opening. The only time I went back was when I was interrogating and pressed the wrong button.
That officer is the real MVP right there, MMM LOVE THAT OFFICER
Man the moment that dude said “Welcome to Canada” the look on their faces was beautiful. The relief!!!
Soldier: HEY! WAIT A MINUTE!
Luther: HE'S GONNA KILL US!
Kara: DON'T DO ANYTHING YOU HEAR ME?!
Soldier: You dropped this.
IM DEAD! 😂
"We just wanna be free"
Damn I felt the amount of pity kara to the guy convince them to cross the border
I didn’t know a video game could make me cry but here we are...
OH MY GOD. MY HEART
"Welcome to Canada"
then I bawled my eyes off
I wish more games would put Canada in the story of the games. I love this, I hope there is part two.
Gregory Moore how would there be a part two the endings are all so different and it would just be so complicated
shrek onion he’s talking about a sequel game
@@seilepigon757 i know that
Why does it always have to be Canada, the "promised land"?
This made me feel better
Im so sad because of jerry
Todd has a heart?!
XD Canadians are so nice
He just made 2 soldiers kill an android because he was not human
Eh?
Canadians are not nice. They are polite.
I loved it that Kara was the voice reason to get that abusive asshole's thick head to not turn them over to the arm guards
I feel bad for Todd though. He lost his jobs because of the androids and since he lost his job his wife left him for a new man I think a office worker and she took his daugther with her. He tried replacing his family with androids so he got into serious debt and became a drug addict.
@@thenoicemango1827 she left him because he was being abusive taking drug's and drinking just how he was being abusive to alice he even admits to it
Detroit: Become The Guy With A Scanner
Luther-father
Kara-mother
Alice-Daughter
XD
No, Ralph is father, he give food to little girl, no? Ralph never done any harm
Ralph could be an uncle?
Ralph is the creepy uncle you see once every year
Ralph is the crazy drunk uncle 😂
Pineapple Gamer could the Jerrys be uncles?
This game's amazing.
It first tells you the story of all the three main characters and eventually makes them meet and impact each other's storylines so much.
God Bless Canada!
Zash Trolosaurus im sure they do but no this does not
Zash Trolosaurus your wrong
Zash Trolosaurus what does this have to do with immigrants
Zash Trolosaurus but what does "god bless canada" have to do with immigration
Zash Trolosaurus ok sure thanks for pointing out what god bless canada has to do with immigration in your sentence because I asked for it
Damn I had a peaceful protest. If I had known I would have been fine with the guard, I would not have sacrificed Jerry.
Balago98 me too 😢
i sacrfice jerry on my first playthrough...
poor jerry... sacrifice himself for nothing... 😭
It’s okay, we’ll mourn Jerry together.
That Officer is my new favorite character. This is MUCH better that the bad ending. Don’t look for it. It isn’t worth your time. All you’ll do is cry.
I watched Kara Alice and Luther die and immediately restarted the whole chapter
Kara's smile is soooo genuine! I love it!
Baby: Is sleeping
Mother: *i tHiNk olIVer LikES YOu*
That immigration officer is the real MVP of this game
This kinda reminds me of the handmaid's tale, for some reason Canada is always the safesst
After all the hardship Kara has gone through, this ending really makes me cry.
Daamn seeing this ending made me tear up a bit, my first playthrough ending was sad..
Dammit Luther get in there!
You deserve a hug too!
“They’re crossing the river as we speak” uh huh yaaaaa they’re totally alive too
I was glad that the security understood what androids felt
I'm curious what happened to that family with the baby '-'
They were put in refuge and brought new tickets
They died:)
They're not gonna be shot on the street because they're humans, they will be fine.
EBay
They can live up to 170 years without charging or so. At least they said it somewere
Their parts will last for thousands of years if untouched
No laws on androids doesn't mean no androids
canadians r luv
*CANADIANS THE REAL MVP*
CANADAAAAA
maybe because the inspector is a canadian that's why he understands ^.^
What does being canadian have to do with thisa
shrek onion because they're really kind and down to earth. Most of them understand others' perspectives and I hope I can marry a canadian guy ^.^
joshua Candoit one time a Canadian chopped an old ladies legs off and left her in the sewers
shrek onion one time one toxic boi out of Canada replied to every comment that supports Canada saying everything bad about them
shrek onion that doesn't change my love towards European people mostly canadian 😍
the helmet design for the soldiers is just so brilliant. makes them appear less human than the androids.
Canadians... Always the good guys xD
Xcist 2.0 except in real life
All people can be bad... Not just canadians.
Xcist 2.0 Especially Trevor Philips.
In reality, not every race is full of nice people, and that goes for Canadians too.
I like that theyre more concerned about getting busted at the border for temp checks than they are for the loaded handgun she stuck in her waistband before getting on the bus.
I completely forgot about the gun. Kind of weird considering everything going on that they didn't spot check kara before getting on the bus.
As soon as I seen the flag I was like YAYYYYY ITS CANADA
So if Markus starts a revolution you would be dead.
WELCOME TO CANADA KARA AND ALICE
WE HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD TRIP EH
Oh my god I swear I'm not crying. Their pleading looks when they say they wanna be free
Imagine that one guy getting this ending on the first try tho.....lucky s.o.b
This ending is actually kinda depressing when you think about it. Kara always wanted to be a mother which is why she cares deeply about Alice. But Alice is just an android, not an actual human child. Therefore she won't age and grow like an actual human. Now i'm not a parent but even i know that the best things about being a parent is watching your child grow and see them go through their various stages in life. But Kara won't be able to experience that, as Alice is forever gonna be a child-like android. Even if she somehow matures emotionally, and they upload her consciousness into different bodies, it'll still all be artificial.
kara, alice and luther are the best family.
