    Dude, I appreciate the honesty here. I am 12 years into a wrap career and were pretty close on skill levels. Everything your showing here is stuff I show people all the time and try to explain "The difference between and paint job and a wrap", "View Distance" etc etc.
    This is the brutal reality sometimes. The wrap looks great. You are a skilled installer. If you wanted to pick it you'd be re-wrapping most of the vehicle despite the fact 90% of people wouldn't mind the small imperfections.

    My god this is like gold dust. Seriously - the key to getting anything right is understanding where something can go wrong when someone who knows in-and-out what they are doing is playing around with their techniques or testing out on their own stuff. Big love.

    Thanks for being so honest. I love the fact that you are not afraid to show any flaw, regardless if it is caused by the material or user error. i have said it before and i will say it again, this is what makes you one of the best in the industry. Most people with this level of wrap would not even dare to go out in the woods and give a vehicle the chance to take any abuse from branches, mud and water and the harshest conditions. I think considering what the wrap has been thru it still looks really good. Can't wait to see what you are wrapping the gladiator in next

    Major props to confidently showing off the flawed areas. Some people just don't realize that wraps aren't always perfect. Especially when you drive your car a lot and it gets dirty, rained on, and constantly washed! Wrapping a flat piece of material around curves and edges wont look the same as a full paint job. And wraps aren't supposed to last like paint is, most people only plan on keeping wraps for like 2 years. Great vid!

    Yo CK.. vid at 7:10 " I didn't even trim these out, I just put the bolts in" ----- use lip chap!!! we are Canadian and we all have at least one tube....somewhere.
    A tiny tiny bit on the surface of the vinyl keeps it from buckling when tightening down the bolts. Comes in super handy on audi's pesky gas caps with a thousand useless bolts, fords bushwhacker wheel flares and body kits!

    Christian, an extremely good video. I want to say something if I may about adhesive failure. Adhesive failure is something that has puzzle the adhesive industry for a few decades now. Although I'm not familiar with that particular vinyl you wrapped your Jeep in, let me say this. From vinyl down to masking tape to double faced tape, sometime's it will stick, sometimes it won't. Double faced tape ( sometimes refereed to as carpet tape ) is well known not to stick for long periods of time. What people should know is that chemicals ( sometimes toluene, acetone and even synasol ) are used to make adhesives. These chemicals were actually vinyl's biggest enemies at one time. As technology had advanced, other chemicals were used. It was a real battle. As you went around your jeep even admitting that it was a quick job, not all of those flaws were do to your work. As advanced as we have gotten with vinyl and it's applications, there's much room for improvement.I viewed this video as a learning experience from what I have seen through my years in the vinyl coating field. Having said all of that, I'll try to post a link about adhesive separation for those interested in reading it.As always, thanks for this video. Take care, Christian.
    Mt best,
    Scott Gillig

    I have a Jeep JL Wrangler. Even tho this is your own vehicle and you were care free in alot places, these things have crazy lines and little “nooks and crannies” everywhere so to me its still a good job. Obviously easier for you to wrap that thing but theres no way Id even attempt it. I tried to wrap the dash area before, that gold/brown plastic u know, it came out like garbage so i took it off. I even took it all apart to wrap it too. I wouldnt be mad if you did a video on wrapping those dash panels. Kepp up the great work. Enjoy tour vids man.

    • @fartnyaface
      @fartnyaface 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CKWraps Cheers bud for getting back to us - regarding your reply i totally understand if it was our own vehicle that we were applicating we tend to rush, i was more curious from a warranty on application angel - i'm not to sure if you give your clients a warranty or workmanship warranty i was more curious to see (especially this product being chrome) if you would provide a warranty or educate clients the limitations of this particular product and try to sell them on something that would hold up that isn't chrome. We tend to get people come into our shop that like chrome because they have seen it on some high end European car and would like it on there subaru for example - i tend to be blunt with them and say "have you got another photo of the same car wrap 24hours after the application" hehe fail time! I kinda blame the suppliers releasing these so called "car wrap" films because in all honesty there hasn't been a car that i have seen that has been 100% flawless after 12months! The vinyl we use now these days ant the same we used 20 years ago. We had no bubble free or air release technologies in vinyl back then so where you applied it stuck in those areas 90% of the time now we have to put relief patches into areas or on body lines to hide and give the illusion that its one piece blah blah blah. Also application technique has changed i'm not saying that is a bad thing but it proves due to the vinyl and "technology" they put in these vinyls they take abit more work making them stick down. Its hard to sell a wrap $5 - $10k knowing some small failure in the application is highly likely and the warranty on vinyls are limited to 1 - 3years on horizontal surfaces and the cost of the product starts from $50 - $130 per lineal mtr where is the value for the client?

    So I'm late here, having only discovered this channel in the last two weeks, but I have a few things to say. One: I have never seen a wrap better than the ones on this channel. Two: I've never seen a perfect paint job, even from the factory there can be visible flaws. Wraps have always been known to be more flawed than paint, yet the wraps I see on this channel are superior to paint jobs done by Maaco or similar. Three: After watching these videos, I want to wrap a car that I don't even own yet, and I'm tempted to go to Canada to get it done. Haha.
