Shouldn't ACRA and MDDI be fined for such lapses? Individuals who's sensitive information being leak can taken legal action against the authority based on pdpa violation? Just simple apology is sufficient? No wander lately so many scammers can obtain our information so easily 😅

The core of the concern lies with privacy consideration. To say that revealing the full NRIC is ok is the same as saying to someone that revealing his/her age to the public is ok. It is ok for many people but not ok for many other people also. Some people are super sensitive about revealing their age for personal reason. The NRIC number does reveal your birth year and hence your age.
After the TC Bishan rating, now is another case of putting the cart before the horse. Are these due to negligence? No accountability? Just an apology? So , is it okay to continue with such sub-standard job with just an apology when things go wrong?? Has Sg standard gone down the drain??
Some years ago ACRA jumped the gun as well They ushered in the new year with a brand new website The only problem was that all the unfixed bugs - nothing worked Credit card transactions ended with error messages but still payment was charged and it took months before reversals / refunds could occur those who unfortunatly retried the process found themeselves with multiple CC charges Imagine even finding out that your business was suddenly reflected as terminated / cancelled in the system! It was a total shit show
So… What’s next on the Accountability and Transparency issues which involves Citizens’ lack of Civil Liberties that they themselves have to chanced upon to find out?? 🤔

All kinds of bloody nonsense, you can have many tan ah Liang with the same name, but you can only have one NRIC number associated with one particular tan ah Liang. NRIC is a definitive identifier of a person. Now, with so many of our personal accounts linked to our NRIC, isn’t this move a potential risk to everyone?
