    Where I live we dont have dryersheets. So what I discovered by ”coincidence” I cleaned my die and accidentally spilled a wee bit of drying liquid in the water. Dried it of and I never connected the dots ..what I mean in this case is that nothing ever sticks on the ones I accidentally did that to. Now I get why.
    Lol..

    These are fabulous and gorgeous cards! Love the products used as those dies have a lot of beautiful detail! I can see even using these dies at Christmas time so it is great that they are versatile! I was wondering if you could share the colors and brand of all 4 card-stocks you used? I have been trying to find those exact colors for my collection, especially the blue. Thank you so much!

      Bizarre & Collective Creativity Thank you! I've had a lot of those colored cardstocks in my hoard for awhile and I'm not completely sure where I got them all. Most likely they are Recollections brand which you can get at Michaels craft stores. I'm pretty sure that blue is from a pack called Cape Cod. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

    Hey Channin...a lot of great tips in this tutorial and the cards turned out beautiful! I was wondering, here in Canada the most popular size of cards are 5 by 7 inch. Do you purchase cardstock to create your own card bases for this size of card and if so, what size of cardstock to you get and where can I find it? Right now I purchase ready cut 5x7 but it of course is more expensive. Really appreciate an answer from anyone with respect to the above. Thanks so much for sharing Channin!

    • @ChanninPelletier
      @ChanninPelletier 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nancy Lynn Thank you Nancy! I do use card stock to create my own card bases. I just use standard 8

    • @ChanninPelletier
      @ChanninPelletier 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oops! 😆 I just use a standard 8 1/2" x 11" sheet, then cut it to 7" x 10" and fold it in half. So I do only get one card base from a single sheet of card stock but it doesn't bother me because I really prefer the 5x7 cards. Hope that helps. 😁

    • @NancyLynn
      @NancyLynn 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, apologies, I thought the finished size of the card was five by seven and therefore, you would need a sheet of cardstock at least 10 x 14. Thanks for replying Channin....my search continues...

    • @ChanninPelletier
      @ChanninPelletier 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nancy Lynn The finished card is 5" x 7". You only have to double one side of the card. 🙂

    What a great job on this video and what a beautiful card. I also love to make a 5 x 7 cards. Or the A7 as you called them. But when I got into the stamping world everyone is making the 4.25 x 5.5 so I just sort of jumped on the bandwagon. But if I want to start making cards the size that you were doing in the video, where can I find pretty envelopes to fit them? I know I could buy white ones in bulk but all the stamp store so he's pretty metallic and bright colored envelopes for the smaller cards. Does anybody sell envelopes for the larger cards Mark thank you I also guess I could make my own with the punchboard. OK thank you. I don't know why everyone in the stamping world make such small cards when you go to the Hallmark or any drugstore, all the cards are about 5 x 7. Anyway thank you for opening up this lightbulb for me. I'm definitely going to get this die set.

    • @ChanninPelletier
      @ChanninPelletier 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      D Thank you!! You should give A7 cards a try again! 😁 Lets start a A7 revolution! 😂 Right now I'm just getting my envelopes from Amazon and I'm just getting white ones. I will do some more research into colored and speciality envelopes and put together a video all about 5x7 cards and cardmaking. Also I have found envelopes at my local thrift store. I think it's because they are the standard size for commercial cards and people often have some left over. Hope that helps! 😁

    • @Dsiegel7
      @Dsiegel7 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, I agree! I guess I could always use white envelopes and just decorate them with my stamps. I wonder if my punchboard for envelopes will make one that big. I bet it will. In the meantime I'm going to join your revolution! Looking forward to the video you're making. Thank you When is the next waffle flower release?

    • @Dsiegel7
      @Dsiegel7 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      FYI, I just googled colored 5 x 7 envelopes on Amazon and there are plenty of colored ones. I didn't see any metallic but I saw a lot of pretty colors. You could always spray with a shimmer mist to make a metallic. 5 x 7 is the right size envelope for an A7right? Actually that envelopes are 5.25 x 7.25 so that would fit perfect

  • @FoundandRedesigned

    Which metal shim do you use? I also have the spellbinders platinum. Spellbinders said they do not make a shim because they don't believe it is necessary because of the way their machine is made. I wondered if the sizzix precision base plate could work with the platinum but I don't want to damage my machine. Have you used a metal.shim with the platinum?

    • @ChanninPelletier
      @ChanninPelletier 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Esther Hernandez I don't use a metal shim for my Plantium machine. I have found the Plantium cuts my intricate dies very well, all I might need to to sometimes is rotate the Die and paper and run it through the machine a couple of times. I purchased the CottageCutz Universal Shim Plate Die Cuts for my Cuttlebug machine, which I owned before I got the Plantium machine. I hope that helps. 🙂

    • @Waffleflowercrafts
      @Waffleflowercrafts  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! I have never used a metal shim with my Spellbinders Platinum machine and I wouldn't recommend it, I think it might damage the machine. For the most part I have zero trouble cutting intricate dies with my Platinum. If a die is giving me a little bit of grief, I just run it through a few times, rotating the die each time (make sure the paper hasn't shifted when you do this). I only use a metal shim with my Cuttlebug die cutting machine because I was unable to get good cuts with my intricate dies with this die cutting machine. Hope this helps!
